She is very good at keeping her cool when she gets a few tables at once, even if they're needy or just quite frankly, annoying. Wife and I had been on the road all morning..decided to stop here for lunch I love a good coney dog wife got the single dog with rootbeer and fries and I ordered the double dog and fries . Wait staff was very quick with the root beers and then our food . Fries were hot and good , the dogs were outstanding a quality hot dog had that snap when you bite into it coney sauce was very good and diced onions were sweet . When in Detroit, I always plan a stop for Coney Dogs. Detroit does Coney Dogs better than my hometown, the Twin Cities. Novi Coney Island is now on my go to list when in the Novi area. NCI is close to work headquarters on Meadowbrook and Grand River. The location is easy to get in and out, when I'm short on time. Three stars. I reserved higher rating for upscale dining. That's no ding in this case. During my last visit, I only had time for two Coney Islands. My appetite was screaming for four. Sometimes life requires sacrifice. At the last minute, I switched my take-out order to dine-in. The Novi Coney Island crew adapted without question and made room for me at the small counter. The waitress prepping tableware was super friendly and accommodating - she cleared her work stuff so I could sit down. Fourth star! The Coney Dogs? Well, they were impossible to eat as they were covered in chili, cheese and onions. Perfect IMHO!!! I welcome the challenge of keeping the Coney Dog off my apparel when enjoying these delectable eatables. Fortunately I stayed clean as I was catching a flight home. Not experienced in the art of Coney Dog consumption? Put Novi Coney Island on your list when in Detroit. Be sure to build up a calorie deficit. Horrible experience with carry out at Novi Coney Island!! I ordered a salad and asked to have it placed in a larger box so i could mix the salad around to my liking. To my surprise I received a CHOPPED salad. I called to let them know that this is NOT what I ordered. I was instructed to bring my salad back for a replacement. Upon my arrival the owner of the restaurant told them to give me my salad. The lady went to grab a dressing and the owner took it from her and tossed it on the counter to me. I said "that was very rude!!" He proceeded to tell me that I was rude and that the salad tastes the same. I said "it doesn't to me!" Not sure what the reason was for the poor behavior and service I received but it was UNACCEPTABLE and again RUDE!!! To blame and treat the customer poorly for your mistake is baffling to me. This place was great , the family and I were out shopping at 12 oaks and decided to give this place a try. It was delightful from the minute we walked in the door our server, a young lady named Genesis was awesome she was very attentive and she made sure we had everything we needed immediately out drinks never empty the food hot and her recommendation of homemade chicken pot was on point . The food was personally the best I've had ever at a Coney island the cabbage soup was delicious , the nacho supreme was delicious I loved their chili that went on it .... They put this disgusting inedible gravy all over it. The mashed potatoes were disgusting also definitely not real potatoes. I could not eat any of the mashed potatoes or gravy. The mushroom soup was very good. I usually order the chicken gyro which is always good.
