Our institute's BBQ party turned out to be the best Boston lobster I've ever had!…read more Steamed 1 1/4 Lobster: The lobsters were incredibly fresh, with plump, firm meat filling every crevice of the shell. Each one had large chunks of roe and brain. This was the first time I'd ever had lobster with roe; many seafood restaurants in Boston don't offer this! Steaming preserved the lobster's aroma and umami to the fullest. Dipped in butter and with a rich, creamy flavor, devouring large chunks of meat was incredibly satisfying. BBQ Baby Back Ribs: Grilled to a tender, fall-off-the-bone perfection, melting in your mouth. A sweet and savory sauce with a slight spiciness, fragrant but not greasy. BBQ Boneless Chicken Breast: Grilled a little too long; chicken breast tends to get dry easily. New England Clam Chowder: Seasoning and texture were perfect. Rich, full-bodied, and incredibly satisfying. Steamed Littleneck Clams and Mussels: A classic New England dish. It seemed to have a fair amount of white wine added; it was a bit acidic, but the wine flavor isn't overpowering, it was quite nice. Red Smashed Potatoes: Mashed potatoes, skin and all, were smooth and creamy with a distinct buttery aroma. The crust was surprisingly crispy, adding a fun texture. Mixed Salad with Homemade Vinaigrette: The rich, gentle aroma of olive oil paired surprisingly well with the vibrant sweetness of strawberries. Cornbread: The best cornbread I've ever had! Soft, moist, naturally sweet, and with a perfectly textured, slightly coarse consistency. Fresh Rolls: They have a thin, crispy crust, a soft interior, and a rich buttery flavor. The bread itself is delicious, but it's even better dipped in clam chowder. Fresh Corn on the Cob: This was boiled sweet corn; it was a little watery but very sweet.

We hired East Coast Clambakes to cater our wedding reception on a covered deck at our marina (Safe…read moreHarbor Essex Island) in Essex, CT, and they were exceptional! We chose the traditional lobster bake and added the charcuterie board, strawberry shortcake for dessert, and soft drinks/bottled waters. From food to service, everything was top-notch. Prior to the event, working with Justin was a absolute breeze. He was incredibly easy to contact and helped us set up a timeline for the day that fit perfectly with our schedule. My sister-in-law and I also attended a tasting ahead of time, which was a fantastic experience and gave us a great preview of what to expect. On the day of the event, Justin and his team arrived early, set up flawlessly, and cooked within sight of our guests; which was a huge hit and super fun for everyone to watch! Even though we ended up with a chilly, rainy day, the team maintained the best spirits, remaining gracious, kind, friendly, professional, and highly efficient without disrupting the flow of the party at all. The timing of the food was excellent, and the presentation perfectly matched our coastal vibe. The food itself was outstanding; every single one of our guests commented on how amazing it was. Personally, my favorites were the clams, clam chowder, lobster, rolls, and the incredible cheese selection on the charcuterie board. We would definitely hire Justin and his team again for a future event. If you want top-notch service, beautiful presentation, and delicious food that your guests will talk about for weeks, hire East Coast Clambakes!

Foodex Deli reminds me of the New York bodega's. They have everything you need in this store. I…read morehave been driving past this place since it opened so I decided to give them a try. I ordered a Chopped Cheese as I never had one before. My sandwich was made in about ten minutes and the sandwich was delicious. It was very flavorful, the meat was cooked just right, and it had just the right amount ingredients to bring it all together. I went back a second time to get a Chopped Cheese but it wasn't as good as the first time I ordered it. The first time I came here another staffer made my sandwich. I would say they have to work on their consistency. The customer was good and the staff are really working hard to bring this new business together. I will definitely be back to taste the Halal menu.

It's super clean, and the gentlemen that work there, we're kind. All the ingredients are displayed right in front of you, and everything is so fresh and looks so yummy. I tried the NYC chopped cheese. I switched it up a bit, only because I do not like Mayo and tomato - so I added some jalapeños. It's literally the best cheese steak I've ever had! The flavors were just wow! And I love that they slightly grill the roll - it totally completes the sandwich. They have a great menu, different varieties of food. I'm definitely going back to try the Halal food. Happy we have a new deli in town!

Jones Winery is one of my new favorites in CT! I went for the first time the other day, and…read moreinitially went to the wrong place! Keep in mind that there is a "Jones Family Farm Pumpkinseed Hill" at 120 Beardsley Rd., and then the "Jones Valley Farm/Jones Winery" at 606 Walnut Tree Rd. My GPS accidentally took me to the Pumpkinseed Farm at first, but it wasn't a big deal because the winery is just a few minutes away. Once I was in the right place, a staff member greeted me and gave me the wine/food menu. They have a lot of different areas to sit, including a patio with tables/umbrellas (where they had live music playing), a pavilion with tables underneath, an upper patio that was covered by a pergola with leaves/vines on top, and an inside bar area with seating. The inside bar area has garage doors that were open, leading out to the upper patio. Even though it was a hot day, I sat under the pergola and it was surprisingly cool underneath! After sitting down, a staff member quickly came over and took my drink/food order. I tried a glass of the Sunshine White, which was delicious! It was on the sweeter side though. Keep in mind that they only sell wine by the glass on the menu, but they do have a store where you can buy bottles to go. I also ordered the Simply Cheese Plate, which came with sharp cheddar cheese, Jones Berry Chutney, and sea salt crackers. This was excellent! They also do have a "Light Fare" menu with things like a hummus plate, cheesecake, popcorn, etc. The service was fast and the staff were friendly. They had a "Bouquet Bar" set up where you could buy fresh cut flowers, as well as a small gift shop. Overall a very cool winery in Shelton, I would definitely recommend!
