Big Dom's Bagels is my favorite bagel spot in the Raleigh area, and the fact that they sell out every single day tells you everything you need to know. These bagels are the real deal, chewy, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. One pro tip: pre-order the day before if you actually want to guarantee yourself a bagel. They move fast, and for good reason. One thing I really appreciate is how generous they are with the cream cheese. So many places barely spread it anymore and make you ask (or pay) for extra. Not here. Big Dom's loads it up properly, which makes a huge difference and honestly feels rare these days. Everything about this place feels intentional, quality ingredients, consistency, and a clear passion for what they're doing. It's the kind of spot you plan around rather than stumble into. If you're serious about bagels in Raleigh, this is the place. Just don't sleep on that preorder.

Simply great bagels in a tiny little shop. We came in for a dozen to take home and loved them. So much better than grocery store bagels. The were well seeded and correctly made, chewy in the way you expect East coast bagels to be. When toasted they came out perfect to us. One tip, if your buying a dozen, refrigerate them if you want them to last a few days or more.

Sold out of most bagel options at 9:40AM on a Saturday. Salt + Pepper and Everything were the only choices, so went with Egg, Bacon and Cheese Sandwich and Salt + Pepper bagel with Salted Honey cream cheese. Service was friendly, she was really apologetic about the lack of choices. The wait was totally worth it! Will be back to try the cinnamon sugar.

Bagels still great just service has gone downhill a lot. Our orders are hardly ever right anymore. Just came home with a scallion bagel instead of chocolate donut lol They don't toast their bagels to the point it's like they get a bonus or something for every bagel not toasted. I gotta be honest a raw lox bagel is so gross lol the texture is vileeeeee it's all soft and chewy. If they start getting orders right I think they have a shot. If not I would bet there's something new there in a year

Enjoyed my bagel! Big Dom's is a small bagel shop in Cary. There is plenty of parking, but no inside seating. They let a few people in at a time to order, and a line forms quickly at 8am. I ordered an everything toasted with scallion cc which came out to $5.25. If you go early they also sell day-old bagels in packs of 2 for $2 a bundle. Good deal! Location not super close to me, but if it were closer, I would go more often.

I really love the bagels here. The scallion cream cheese is delicious. I've always had friendly service when I've stopped by. I make it a point to come here whenever I can!

They have amazing bagels and actually toasted it the way I like it. It was covered in cream cheese and it was just delicious. The coffee was also good. There is no where to eat inside, but there is a bench outside. Don't bypass it because of this though because you will miss out on a great bagel. And, their health score is 100!

I got the egg, bacon, and cheddar on a sesame bagel and the b'donut! Both were sooo good. Service was quick and friendly!

When I first went, they did have a gluten-free bagel on the menu. I went last week and didn't see it on the menu. So you will probably have to ask.

Are you open right now during this bad weather? thank you

Yes, they were open during operating hours in 2018, including when the weather was inclement

Your hunt for first-rate pastries and bagels ends right here. It's not surprising that there's a…read moregreat deli like this in Cary -- a city as stuffed with new Northeastern transplants as it is depleted of old Southeastern woodlands. Despite the overdeveloped bleakness, Cary is, at least, a good town to find many foods, markets, and restaurants otherwise unavailable in the region. The pastry case has a wide variety of options -- everything you might hope to find in a Portuguese or Italian bakery in New England in the 1980s (my touchstone for fundamental pastries). They are all apparently made on the premises, and have the particular look of pastries from the Northeast. Purely in the interest of scientific research, rather than barbaric gluttony, I tried an apple danish, a cheese danish, and a lemon danish. The cheese danish was faultless in taste: The filling was classic New England bakery cheese filling, and the pastry dough was very soft, and light, but not crumbly. Unlike at some Italian bakeries, it wasn't edge-to-edge filled with cheese (though it was the most edge-to-edge of all three danishes, as is customary for the cheese ones, in my experience); you can, and should, easily remedy this by ordering multiples. The apple danish was of the more cinnamon-crumble-forward style, but it was still terrific. The apples were well-coated small soft bits (unlike at some lesser pastry shops where the apples are crunchy undersweetened slices or chunks). Lemon danishes are very hard to find anywhere, and it was exciting to see one here. It was also excellent. The lemon filling sweated a little bit, so be prepared to get a little sticky (well worth it -- since this is definitely the right kind of filling for a lemon danish). The bagels are also top-notch, as you'd expect. They are a tiny bit lighter and smaller than the classic NY deli bagels were a few decades ago. Which is probably a good thing, since the New York ones seemed to be made from lead-208, all-gluten flour, and condensed dwarf star. The taste is pretty correct, though (as opposed to another bagel shop in the region which does manage to make gigantic leaden NY bagels, but which taste like dense white bread). All of the expected varieties of bagels were at the ready, and in good supply. The bagel/egg/cheese/meat sandwiches are pretty much NY deli accurate (but a little lighter -- which, again, is most welcome, compared to spending the entire morning defeating a NY bodega BEC, and the entire afternoon groaning), and carefully yet briskly prepared (with very good quality meat, and with yellow -- the tastier color -- American). (There also was a slice of chocolate cake -- it, unfortunately, was of the minimally frosted type, with some sort of ill-advised sour cream mixture between the layers. We'll just forget about that item.) The shop itself isn't quite as densely packed (with either people or pastry) as a NY deli, and is also much cleaner and kinder. The service is simply excellent. Customers are all quickly moved through the line, and the orders are prepared very efficiently. Despite the speediness, everyone behind the counter is very friendly and as patient as needed. The speed of the North is combined with the friendliness of the South -- a perfect combination, especially for those of us who are hopelessly impatient, but have no desire to ever be yelled at while at a deli counter again. A great business. I hope they flourish for a very long time.

Ironically, I went here because I rarely get out to eat and the service has always been consistent. 1. There was no one at the cash register and an employee who was just about to go on break took my order. He was polite enough but I found out later that he put in the wrong order. 2. There were no tables that I saw that were wiped off. Some had the dishes removed but I needed to wipe off a table. 3. A cockroach scrambled across the floor near my table to the left of the coffee station. I wish I was joking, or seeing things but I wasn't the only person who saw it. One of the female employees went toward it and stepped on it but since it was headed toward my table, I moved. 4. It was really hot in there. Maybe not AC completely broken hot, but AC on the struggle bus hot. There was a large fan in the back dining room that wasn't doing much of anything except redistributing humidity. 5. I ordered an avocado toast with bacon and got delivered a grilled cheese sandwich. The server took it back but then I needed to ask for the bacon. I'm sorry I didn't take a picture because the same dish on Sunday was so elaborate and beautifully presented and the same order today was just meh. Not a good value for the price. I will say the server correcting someone else's mistake was clearly overwhelmed but doing her best. She was also the cockroach killer. I ate my lunch and read my book. My intention had been to linger a while and read but I decided to leave. The place was about 1/4 full when I left but all the tables still had crumbs, food debris and water on them made it too unpleasant to stick around. Very disappointing. I don't see myself going back any time soon. I do love their bread but I'm sure I can find someplace more pleasant or go to the downtown location instead.
