Since moving to the Cary area, this has become our go-to spot for bagels. I usually order delivery, so I can't speak much to the in-store experience, but the food itself consistently delivers. I'm pretty particular about bagels, and these absolutely hold up--great texture, a good chew, and generous toppings. They're perfect for grabbing a half dozen for the weekend (or to freeze for later), and they keep really well. They offer a solid lunch menu too. My husband is loyal to the Hungryman, which is massive and actually keeps him full for hours. One thing I really appreciate is that they don't skimp on the cream cheese with to-go orders, which feels rare these days. Overall, a reliable spot for a weekend treat or an easy brunch spread. The only reason it's not a full five stars is that I haven't experienced it in person yet--but based on the food alone, it's definitely worth checking out. read more

I will continue protesting until I receive my money back. I have no reason to lie. They still put the charge through even though it was cancelled. I was craving a bacon, egg and cheese bagel and that's what I got. It was a good one with a ton of bacon! The place has a 99 health score, but it could have used a good cleaning. It smelled like Fabuloso and I abhor that smell so that was an issue. (I know. It didn't look clean but smelled like cleaner. IDK.) Luckily, they had tables outside. read more

Great spot for bagels! They have lots of options for both bagel and cream cheese flavors. Their bacon, egg, and cheese was solid but wish I got two eggs instead of one. I've tried their asiago, everything, blueberry, plain, chocolate chip, and french toast bagels. No complaints! For a sweet option, their chocolate chip cream cheese on a chocolate chip bagel is amazing. My boyfriend loves the scallion cream cheese on everything and the strawberry cream cheese on blueberry as well. Service is quick and staff is friendly. Check them out! read more

Used to be my favorite bagel place in the area, came back for the first time in a few months and was heavily disappointed. The price went up, bagels got way skimpier, at over $8 for a single sandwich id at least expect the same or better quality as it has been in the past. I mean just look at past reviews and pictures, this bagel looks awful compared to others. If this is how it will stay I can't say I can ever recommend or return again. read more

First time visiting and won't be the last. Good customer service and they fill the orders quickly. I had a bacon, egg and cheese on a everything bagel. The bagel was crispy on the outside and soft inside. Plenty of bacon and the egg was cooked perfectly. I also got an onion bagel with jalapeño cream cheese to go and a plain egg bagel. The onion bagel smelled so good I ate it when I got home. I think the jalapeños might be pickled cos not too hot, which was fine. The onion bagel itself was delicious. read more

As a ex New Yorker, I can say this place is a joke. Lock cream cheese and bagel turned out to be a big slather of soft cream cheese with tiny bits of lox mixed in. I estimate 5% locks to 95% cream cheese. When I tried to buy a piece of lox the manager wanted to charge me over $12 for a sandwich that included lox but also tomato and onion which I did not want. The coffee was barely better than what you'd find at a Waffle House. Otherwise the sesame bagel was fine. read more

DoorDash refused to refund my money twice, so I called the restaurant. When I called about the order, the manager was dismissive and insinuated I was lying. I informed him I took pictures and showed them to DoorDash And I had no reason to lie. He didn't care and refused to give my money back. Try them! These are the best bagels in Cary! They are fresh and they have a big selection of cream cheeses. Their service is quick. It's not a big shop but there are a few places to eat inside and they have a few chairs outside. They are located in the Harris Teeter shopping center off of Harrison and Maynard. They are much better than Brueggers. read more

As a native Jersey guy, I love when I can find a good bagel, and that's not easy to do. Looking at them on first glance, I wasn't feeling too confident. The holes in the middle were really large. When the hole is overly big, you're not getting as much bagel! Also it's more room for cream cheese or spread to fall out! Also the bottom of a good bagel should have that little crack or blister to it. These didn't have that at all, they almost looked too pretty, if that makes sense. They were pretty good tasting bagels, not the best, not the worst. On a positive side, they have a very good variety to choose from, about all that's missing are rye and salt flavors. read more

I ordered a French toast bagel sandwich with egg, sausage, cheese, and honey walnut cream cheese. (I haven't been able to find a French toast bagel anywhere in years!!!) My husband ordered an Asiago bagel sandwich with egg, turkey, cheese, and plain cream cheese. Both were delicious! Next time I don't think I'll get cheese on it just because it was a small, plain Kraft-like slice. Turkey slices were pretty thick, which I was pleasantly surprised about! I'm back with a well earned 5 star review because I am eating one of the best steak and egg bagel sandwiches I've ever had. I got it on the asiago bagel with green onion cream cheese and WOW. Delicious. Do I find the $1+ up-charge to add cream cheese a bit much? Yes absolutely. But for $9 this sandwich just made my day so I'll be ok. NYC Bagels is wonderful! I've only ordered (via Postmates) once but was definitely impressed and would absolutely order again. When I moved a few years ago, it was a bit far from my favorite bagel spot (NY Bagels and Deli on Falls of Neuse), which is still my favorite, but this spot is definitely comparable and I am so thankful a quality bagel spot delivers, even being a bit far from my house. Being from NYC, I think I am a pretty good judge of a bagel. You are obviously not going to get an NYC bagel in NC unless it is ordered from NYC. That being said, this place and my other favorite are the two closest I have had! I ordered a Pastrami, Egg, and Swiss on a Pumpernickel and a half dozen bagels to keep/freeze (Plain, Everything, and Sundried Tomato). The bagel sandwich came hot and fresh, it was delicious. I froze the half dozen but actually ended making homemade breakfast sandwiches on the Sundried Tomato bagels the next day and these were delicious! My wife and I were looking for a decent bagel place. Based on all the images we saw on Yelp and Google, we found it difficult to pinpoint the ideal bagel place. However, we decided to give this New York bagel spot a try. Upon arrival, we were greeted by what you would expect from a typical bagel shop: the curt and short attitudes of New Yorkers, which was awesome. You get an authentic experience there. Definitely not a NY bagel. I read the reviews but always like to try things regardless of the reviews. I ordered takeout and they give you a lot of salmon/lox. That tasted very fresh and the red onions, capers were all great. The bagel was chewy and tastes like a Dunkin bagel. Might try something else next time but not a bagel. read more

My husband and his friend often meet here for breakfast. When I needed to get bagels for a team event at work, hubby said to go here. Walked in around 7:30 AM on a Monday and ordered a Baker's Dozen. They've got a lot, I mean, A LOT of options. Chocolate Chip, Asiago, Everything, Plain, Cinnamon Sugar, Sesame, we're just some of the ones I got. Added two of the larger tubs of regular cream cheese and their fabulous strawberry cream cheese. Hubby got a breakfast bagel sandwich for his driving me around. They even took the time to slice the 13 bagels when we asked if they could. Great service and the bagels are wonderful. Such a home feeling (NY) I love the deli feel and the dessert display. I love thick cream cheese. NYC Bagels will for the most part satisfy your bagel fix on a post Thanksgiving Friday am when, your son is too lazy to drive himself to a pre-football game breakfast at his high school. To kill some time, while I'm in Cary, I came in for a pastrami and egg on an "egg everything." I usually get a "BECSPK" on an "everything but, I think I ate half the tray of the cheddar bacon twists my sister in law made yesterday for Thanksgiving, skipping bacon for awhile.
