I did an impromptu visit in while walking around Glenwood and really enjoyed myself. There is a nice assortment of goods inside from savory to sweet! Prices were a little steep for me but it was a nice morning treat. I had the Caesar salad, mozzarella & prosciutto baguette, and a sparkling water. The salad was good- the chicken slices were giant but croutons almost too salty. The baguette was very hard, but I wonder if it needed to be heated up for a crispy crunch or what. The flavor in it was good though, salty from the prosciutto but the mozzarella helped mellow it out and the pesto was a nice accent. I was in and out with no issues. This is a local chain with several locations. This one closed relatively early but was close to downtown Raleigh which is how I ended up there. It's the kind of place that bakes for the day and then is potentially sold out by the end, and when I stopped in an hour before closing, they had a decent spread of items that they just had one or two of left, so by the time I was done loading up for the office it was a bit picked over. Their signature item is a baguette with white chocolate chips baked into it. Bread and chocolate is a trope, but this is an odd combination. Nonetheless, a successful one when I tried it. A cheese-drizzled pretzel which I shared was as savory as I might have hoped. Several other creations disappeared appropriately when shared. It seemed more an old European style bakery and not the ideal place for the more restrictive special dietary needs, but what selection they had seemed to be quality stuff. read more

I'm so glad to see more La Farm locations pop up, but I'm anxiously awaiting them to make their way closer to the triad area one day. This location is fairly new. It's very clean and modern inside. There is a small parking lot right outside. I ordered a prosciutto mozzarella pesto sandwich. It was on a French baguette. All the ingredients tasted absolutely fresh. There are some seating areas outside if you want to eat on-site. If you take the sandwich to-go, I'd highly recommend toasting the sandwich panini style at home. Service was good! I have been to the La Farm Bakery at the airport, but I'm so glad there is a spot in Raleigh now! The chocolate almond croissant is delicious, and I also got a tasty iced mocha. They had samples of focaccia with garlic herb spread that was very good. I might get that spread the next time I go. There are a lot of good looking pastries and desserts, so I'll have to come again! TLDR: La Farm is always an excellent choice for breads and pastries. I recommend all the breads and have enjoyed many of the savory and sweet pastries. The white chocolate baguettes are always a hit along with the lemon squares and scones! La Farm bakery opened a downtown Raleigh location this month! I happened to be headed downtown when I saw their Instagram post and couldn't resist stopping by. This location is right off Glenwood Ave with an adjacent parking lot and street parking available. I parked on the street and walked over. The employees are welcoming and efficient. They quickly fulfilled orders and answered questions. I have been to La Farm bakery's other locations in the past and thus was familiar with the menu. If it is your first visit, take your time looking through the display cases, posted menu, and packaged items. They have a lot to offer and do run out of items as they are purchased. I appreciate this set up since it limits waste. The atmosphere in this location is pleasant since it is light, spacious, and organized well. Inside there are places to stand and eat and outside they have tables to dine at. The items in the chilled display case are labelled with major allergens. The employees can also answer questions you may have regarding the ingredients. At this location you can pick up pre-orders to the right of the shop or select the items you want and pay at the cashier. An employee behind the display cases packages the items selected from the cases. It can be pricy, still comparable to similar establishments and it is definitely worth it for the taste and quality of the items. Overall, we are fans of La Farm and recommend this bakery to others! read more

Ambiance is not good for conversation and work, it is too loud, there is no dampening for sound and you can hear everyone else's conversation, especially if they are on the phone. NO WIFI - this is crazy in this day and age, no public wifi here. Keep that in mind if you are looking for a place to work. Food is average to fine. Best thing here is the bread. read more

Additionally, they don't let you know that despite it being the weekend, parking is not free. I love this place, I was so excited when they opened in downtown Raleigh! The store is cute and quant, they always have delicious samples which more often than not lead me to purchasing more than I intended. When I heard that a La Farm was coming to downtown Raleigh, I was stoked. I finally got a chance to visit it this morning. I was a bit bummed out to find out that they didn't carry any of the breakfast sandwiches. I'm hoping that they plan to add those items. They do have all of the baked goods, so if you're going for those, you'll have a great time.
