I went there expecting a better seafood dive location experience. I spent the last 22 years living next to the ocean and I frequented two different dive seafood restaurants that served good shrimp that didn't look like it came out of the frozen section of the grocery store. You could eat the same food at home by visiting your local grocery and buy pre-breaded shrimp and get the exact same stuff you would eat here. The fact that they only offer regular size shrimp in the butterfly form should tell you something. They do not automatically give you hush puppies either. You have to choose them as one of your sides. The waiting staff was very friendly. The beer was priced cheap. The food was also priced cheap. I would have paid for for hand breaded shrimp though. I would only return of the fix the shrimp; I understand we at not bear the ocean but there is still better ways to serve shrimp than Seapak or Gortons boxed shrimp in the frozen section of the grocery. read more

Appearance wise it doesn't look like much. The food however is always good. My son loves to get the burger with double order of fries. I love their fish, tasty and crispy. We've gone with ex hubs and he and my son have done the all you can eat fish. Service is usually friendly. There seems to be one server who isn't so friendly. Food is always done quickly , even with a full house. Drawback is the back door during cold months. Every time it's opened all that cold air comes in. So we're picky about where we sit. But unfortunately with a back and front door the cold air comes in both ends. So often people eat with their coats on. Maybe just don't go during the winter, lol. read more

Did a pickup order for me and some buds at work. We got two pounds of fish and regular french fries. This is my first time trying big eyed fish and it was delicious. I had never been to big eyed fish and I got the big fish sandwich, clam chowder, hush puppies. I was very impressed with the hush puppies and the big eyed fish sandwich it was delicious... Our server was phenomenal very helpful very kind very pleasant.. My only complaint was my dining partner got her burger and my fish sandwich came out 5 minutes later.... We cannot say enough about this restaurant. We just moved to Fort Wayne. Nicholas Ferrari, the meteorologist on WANE TV raves about the fish here. We decided to try it. WOW! We were so impressed with the fish dinner here. We have been back 3 times and the food is always excellent. The service is fantastic as well. If you love fish, I recommend the 3 piece fish dinner. Excellent dive bar for fried fish and other bad-for-you goodness. Dinner for 2 with 2 beers is under $30, and for that you get full-on, tuba music serenade, greasy stuffed to the gills full. Their fish-fry batter is really unique and IMO delightful. Decor is divey, and the surrounding area is rather sketchy, but thats usually where you find good fried fish. They have a jukebox. This is a pretty good place to take kids, as on Saturday night there is a magician trolling the booths doing tricks and balloon animals. He seemed rather sketchy himself, but he is a magician, not a babysitter and the place is well-lit. In Ft Wayne for the holiday to see my family. Went to Big Eyed and got the 3 fish combo with a baked potato and hush puppies. First off, the tartar sauce is heavenly. Usually tartar sauce is tart and you can taste the mayo. This tartar sauce is well mixed and has a slight sweet flavor. This compliments the battered shrimp very well. So let's talk about the fish now. I got 3 very large battered pieces. You definitely get your money's worth. The breading was robust and fish was boneless and flavorful. Fried but not greasy. I also had the baked potato with butter and sour cream. It could have used some cheese but it was a good side. There is a lot of seating and it was decorated for the holidays. The service was also spectacular. While the restaurant is nothing fancy it should be on your list for come-as-you-are dining. A must try in Ft. Wayne. read more

Went there to have breakfast. The hash browns and looked like they had just been warmed in the skillet and not crispy. The toast had a big glob of liquid margarine that laid on top of the toast and never melted. The ham was extremely extremely salty. The waitress tried to tell me that ham is salty. I did not argue even though I have ordered it other places many times and was never that salty. The eggs were the only thing good. The manager took half off. So if your looking for good fish at an average price then this is your place. I always wanted to go here based on the reviews. The place seems a little old but it is in a old part of town. I still liked the place. The food and menu were what you would expect from a fish place. Nothing exciting just your basics. They do fish well. Price wise I think they were right on point. Except for one thing. I ordered a side of hush puppies. You know those little deep fried dough balls of yummy. Yes they charged me 2.25 for six Nickel sized hush puppies. They were so small I actually asked the waitress if that was correct. She said with a sheepish grin "yes, I'm sorry honey I don't set the prices". With the exception of that everything else was great. Including the help. I'd go back. Just don't expect any game changing items. Just your basics. And they do them well!! read more

Staff is very friendly and the do a great job of making sure the drinks are full. The only lady even asked before giving my cousin who at the time was five another refill on soda.
