Flavorful smoked meats for affordable prices. It does get pretty heavy quickly, but the ribs fell right off the bone and were delicious. Visited Big Fatty's based on a recommendation from a friend on a Thursday night for supper last week. Strange as it sounds we didn't dive into the BBQ menu but went for two of the specials. My wife ordered the steak tips with red bliss mashed potatoes and I had the Cuban sandwich which came with French Fries. Our appetizer was a side order of onion rings. The onion rings are the crunchy hard coated type which my wife loved and I found very good. Her steak tips were done perfectly (medium rare, still very pink) and the mashed potatoes looked homemade. My Cuban was pilled high with sliced ham, pulled pork and Swiss cheese; pickles and mustard. The only negative was the French Fries which were somewhat soggy (had they been crispy this dish would have been perfect). Based on the pulled pork in my sandwich, we will go back for the Q next time we're in town! read more

I read that the Mac and cheese was award-winning and it certainly lived up to its hype! They have a very covid-friendly setup with outdoor eating and lots of hand sanitizer available. The service was great and our food was brought out pretty quickly. If you're a beer drinker, they have quite a few drafts to choose from (including some locals). read more

Stopped here for some takeout this past weekend. We were craving some meat for lunch, and this place popped up on our Yelp search. We ordered a half rack of ribs, burnt ends, and the mac n cheese. The half rack was pretty good, but unfortunately, the burnt ends, although quite sizeable, were a bit too dry and bland. The mac n cheese (cuban) were fun, but not mind blowing. The slaw also needs just a bit more kick to it. if I'm in the area, we will probably try this place again and maybe try their sandwiches/burgers. We were visiting a brewery nearby and stopped in here for lunch. The only reason I don't give 1 star is because the staff was friendly and they had a nice beer selection. Otherwise, this was some of the worst BBQ I've ever had. I ordered the brisket and burnt ends combo, served with slaw for $21. For that amount, you should be able to pick a couple of sides but the BBQ should make up for it, right? Nope, this was some of the toughest, driest brisket I've ever sunk my teeth into with absolutely zero flavor. To put this in perspective, I ordered a brisket sandwich at a hockey game in NJ last week that tasted better than this. The burnt ends were doused in BBQ sauce. They were fine but nothing special. I stopped by here a couple of Sundays ago with my wife for lunch. We were in the area looking for a lunch place on Yelp whenever we found Big Fattys and headed on over. The inside of this place had a salad bar, a counter to order your beer and then both hightop and lowtop seating throughout the rest. They had two large flat screen TV's both of which had the Pats game on while we were there. They also have a large number of craft beers on tap with a couple of chalkboard menus to keep track and you can order flights here. For lunch on this day I decided to go with the piggy platter and chose the Texas brisket and burnt ends for my meats. My wife also ordered a piggy platter and choose chicken and pulled pork for her meats. It also came with sides of cole slaw, Mac and cheese and baked beans. I first tried the Texas brisket and while I didn't get any smoke flavor off of the meat, it was nice and tender and tasted quite good. I especially liked it paired with their BBQ sauce which was somewhat sweet and spicy. Next up to try was the burnt ends which true to their name had a crispy exterior. The interior of these were super tender as well and I enjoyed them with the BBQ sauce as well. I was also able to try both the pulled pork and chicken and thought that both were flavorful and juicy. As for the sides, the cole slaw here was creamy and I enjoyed it and the Mac and cheese had a great cheese sauce on it. Last but not least was the baked beans which I tried and didn't like. Of course that wasn't surprising as I generally don't like baked beans and so I would recommend you try them yourself. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. After eating the piggy plate here I did really feel like a big fatty but at least I thought the food was good! read more

As a girl from Texas who grew up eating BBQ from everywhere down south, this place takes the #1 spot for the best bbq I've ever had in my life. Part bbq joint, part bar, part live music location also with a salad bar. Very interested. They have your usual bbq suspects- pulled pork, ribs, brisket, sausage, mac n cheese, greens, coleslaw, beans. They also have some interesting sounding dishes that I would come back and try if ever in the area again like brisket and caramelized onion main and cheese, and 'rib ringer' which is onion rings topped with chopped rib meat, bacon bits, scallions, and melted cheese! So on to what I actually had- a combo of brisket and ribs. The combo was served with a slice of coleslaw. The portion was a lot more than I expected. Nothing unique about the slaw, it was your usual as expected slaw. The ribs are actually spare ribs. The ribs were soft, not fall off the bone soft, but still soft. They had a great flavor. The brisket is served sliced, it's was juicy and tender and really cooked perfectly. I loved the sauce they had set out on the tables. If you're near here, definitely stop on by! read more

I decided on the 8 oz brisket and 8 oz burnt ends that came with 8 oz of homemade coleslaw. The burnt ends were delicious, perfectly crispy and flavorful. The brisket was a bit drier and benefited from some of the homemade BBQ sauce on the table. The coleslaw was creamy and crunchy. The only downside of Big Fatty's is the price. I know that authentic BBQ takes time, patience, and dedication of the BBQ pitmaster but I just felt that for the 8 oz portions I received, the $18 price tag was a bit steep. For me, I can see how Big Fatty's would be a treat that I would get on special occasions but not one I could afford once a week. read more
