Quick summary: Amazing burgers - and this claim from someone who is not a huge burger fan. I ate here for the first time last week - while on vacation. My wife is a big burger fan (FYI: she raved about her burger, too), so I decided to try the place out, since we were in the area. Bit hard to locate, but parking was fine. Since the weather was good, we ate outside. There is both open air & tent-covered seating options. Speaking of seating - you must memorize your table # BEFORE going inside to order as meals are delivered to your table. I ordered the "Big Daddy M": 6oz beef, medium-cooked, with Bayley Hazen blue cheese, caramelized onions, bacon bits, garlic aioli, bibb lettuce and red onions. What a heavenly, savory combination. Each bite was full of flavor. And the French Fries? Well, super tasty as well - I ate every potato fried crumb. At other places, fries are usually bland, but not here. The order service inside was pleasant and quick; be sure to note the chalk board with a list of food options (e.g. my Wife ordered a custom burger, just the way she wanted). After ordering we went back outside to our #'d table - wait for the food was relatively quick. When done eating, just leave your baskets, etc. on the table (there is a sign stating this practice). Today (8/9/2025), my wife and I were in South Royalton for the first time. Our daughter is starting her first semester at the Vermont Law School and we were moving her in. The town is also a bucket list destination for fans of Gilmore Girls. We were hungry and looking for a late lunch. There are a handful options in town, and we chose Worthy Burger! It was a crazy hot day (90+) so we decided to eat inside. There was a hostess station outside, but we assumed it was for the outside seating area so by-passed it. Oops - apparently we should have started there. Sorry, we now know for next time. The indoor space is rustic and quaint. The food and drink menus are chalkboards. I like the vibe here. You order at the register, and when your food is ready they bring it to you. I had the Mushroom Swiss Burger and my wife had the signature Worthy Burger. Both burgers were tasty. I washed mine down with 85 Bears by Big Tree Brewing. Coach Ditka would agree - this beer is worthy of the greatest football team ever! Service is hard-working and friendly. Worthy Burger is definitely worth a visit! I ordered the Worthy Burger which was delicious. It comes with a size of fries for salad. I ended up getting the side salad which was also really delicious - baby lettuce with cucumbers, pumpkin seeds, cranberries with a vinaigrette dressing. This restaurant is pretty casual - you place your order at the bar and find seating anywhere inside. The kids meals were also a sufficient portion of food. I had a fountain coke served to me in a sifter type glass. Free refills on the coke. We both had burgers, my wife the Worthy Burger and mushroom and swiss for me. Both were thick 6 oz burgers with a brioche bun. They were the very definition of a slider and they were delicious! The fries were next level and came with the burgers. If I could give this place six stars, I would. I was raised eating burgers sometimes three times a day, and as far as I'm concerned hamburger is its own food group. That said, I'm confident that this is one of the very best places to get a burger and fries anywhere in the country. There's an intimate, laid back & friendly vibe both inside and outside. The staff knows their business. They get super-busy here, and often there is a long line well out the door. Never have we seen the staff flustered or discourteous. They know their business and know how to manage the crowds, and how to offer great service whether you're a veteran local or a first-time-flatlander-newbie - very impressive. I stopped in on my way through VT, it was easy to get to and right off of 89. I got the fried chicken sandwich and the worthy burger, regular fries and cheddar buffalo ranch fries. And honestly just about everything was really good! The chicken and fries were a little dark which lead me to believe the oil was due to be changed. Which is unfortunate because while the fries were basically good, it definitely affected the taste of the chicken sandwich. But based on the fact that the sandwich was still good (all of the ingredients and other elements worked SO well together) I can only imagine how good it would have been! The building was very cool, it's a refurbished building I think a train station maybe. It smells heavenly. And the outdoor seating looked fun! Worthy Burger is a worthy favorite if we can get the timing right for our drive between MA and weekends in Vermont. Excellent creative burgers and fries-we were excited to try their winter menu. I had the special Pork Bulgogi burger and the pork played nicely with the pineapple and cabbage kimchi. My husband had the Big Daddy M burger medium rare and the combo of bacon, caramelized onions and Camboloza cheese blended so well together. I opted for a side salad because I knew were were going to be fry heavy since my husband got Buffalo fries and we got a side of the special fries, 'French Onion fries'. Their fries have the perfect amount of crunch and the toppings don't overwhelm by making the fries soggy-they hold their crunch! Even their side salad was fresh and tasty with the added touch of the butternut squash and spicy pepitas. They have a varied and extensive selection of Vermont beers represented. It should be renamed the pickled onion and dry coleslaw burger. The burger tasted good though, just completely inaccurate description. My medium-cooked burger was much smaller than the bun it was on. My wife's well-done burger was even smaller. Not sure how you specialize in burgers and do rookie things like shrink the burger down to the size of a slider. But, it was thick. I remember doing that as a teenager. A saving grace was we didn't have to wait around to pay because you walk-in, order, pay, sit, wait, wait, and it's brought to your table. However, I don't care for having to tip before sitting down for service. Unrelated, but notable, if you sit at the bar you can expect to have a line of people at your back waiting to order their food at the order station. Foot traffic flow doesn't make sense. REALLY thought this was going to be a great burger. We got here just before opening and got a seat at the counter. The beer selection is truly great. Couldn't ask for much better. Service was very friendly, and kept up pretty well as customers poured in and everything turned hectic. The menu looked amazing. The approach to burgers is great, the size is just right, seasoned well, the bun is perfect, fries are good. Everything seems just right, but they fall down hard at the actual cooking the burger step. We ordered a medium and a medium rare, and it was pretty quickly apparent we weren't getting them that way. You can see the flames shooting 1-2 feet off the grill top the whole time, with lots of pressing the burgers hard. The result is a dry, medium-well to well-done burger coated in a sooty flavor. Although the service was good in general, nobody ever came back to ask us how they were. There's enough good stuff going on here to still rate a 3, but the burgers themselves were pretty disappointing. Maybe it depends on the who's cooking, but seeing the high flames and the pressing of the burgers was pretty surprising in a place with a reputation like this. read more

HELLO loyal fans!!! We are back once again, on our way to see Twenty One Pilots on their Clancy World Tour with support from Balu Brigada. We stopped by this small little location, hidden behind a bridge and next to the ye-olde train tracks, with an appetite as powerful as the powerful seas of Poseidon! Oh goodness never have I ever seen a chicken sandwich as large and massive as this one that we ordered at this worthy establishment. Does bigger = better? Before he shares these comments we must note the price of these jam packed sammies, around 20 DOLLARS for each. Hey it was a lot of food but that hurt the wallet. This economy takes no prisoners. Anyway this is Jake's review of the sandwich; hello I am Jake and the sandwich was very big, I had to unhinge my mouth like a boa constrictor to even take a single bite. In theory, this is cool, more bang for your buck, but in practice, it just made me feel like a fool. Putting two mediocre fried chicken patties in a sandwich doesn't make it better than putting one. The fries were very good though and overall it was a grand old time! They played Addict With a Pen on the Clancy Tour, who knew they'd do such deep cuts!!! Ordered the veggie burger. Waitress told me the fries are fried in tallow. I appreciated her telling me since I am vegetarian. She suggested a side salad instead but I wasn't really in the mood for that. Ordered a coke which tasted a bit flat. The burger was made with a black bean patty which was very heavy tasting. It was paired with pineapple which I didn't think worked. I would have appreciated some pickles or jalapeños instead and a crunchy element would have been nice. The burgers are fantastic. Juicy, local beef, full of that grassy mineral flavor, kissed by a wood grill. Probably the best burger I've had in years. The fries, fried in beef tallow, are decadently rich. Beer selection has a little bit of everything, including some ciders, Stouts, and sours (not just IPAs here). Worthy Burger lives up to it's name. A little expensive, but you're paying for quality, nowadays even a meal at a chain burger place can run almost $15-20. However, this restaurant is a classic example of Tip-flation. This isn't a full service restaurant, you order at a counter, yet there's still an obligation to tip 20% for basically a cashier (I did of course, I support the service industry). Thank God they have an option to buy a round for the kitchen, because the man slinging the grill deserves the gratuity. I stopped here on a Saturday along with my husband and his dad. We arrived around 4 PM, so there were a few other people, but we got in before the dinner rush arrived. Inside is a full bar as well as normal tables, and there's plenty of seating outdoors as well (we chose to sit outside under their tent). You order your food at the register and the servers bring it to your table when it's ready. The lady at the register was very friendly, and was knowledgeable about allergens when I informed her of my dairy allergy. I ordered a build-your-own burger with bacon, lettuce, onion, and pickles with regular fries as my side. It was genuinely one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. The beef was flavorful and juicy and the veggies were all very fresh and high quality. The bacon was cooked just right too. My fries were delicious as well (their fries are homemade). Although I had regular fries, they do offer a number of variations, so my husband had the dry rub fries and his dad had the parmesan truffle fries. Both were excellent.
