Our service was very attentive and thoughtful. We split our salad and dinner and were really full. I loved the tuna fish dressing and crackers as a starter. The Brussel sprout salad was crisp and fresh tasting. Loved the scallops and oysters we shared. He ate all the shrimp. Loved the fresh spinach and green beans. We mainly came because it's pi day. They had two pies we could use to celebrate it with. We are going for peanut butter pie. Restaurant was very clean and I loved the paper and crayons on the table. We went to the restaurant asking about outdoor dog-friendly seating, but they don't have it in the off season. So we asked about to-go orders and they sent us to the market next door. We were able to order quickly and our food was ready within 20 minutes. The seafood was fresh and delicious. All the fried seafood (oysters, seafood combo) were great and the crab cake sandwich disappeared in a few minutes. My grilled scallops were flavorful and tender, not rubbery at all. My only complaint is I think they gave me one wrong dish -- I had ordered the teriyaki glazed scallops with saffron rice and fries, but they just gave me a scallop skewer with fries. I have had to go through the bag at pick up every time to ensure everything I ordered was in there. I even got a fried chicken salad that had no chicken on it! I had to drive back to pick up the chicken with little (no) apology from the hostess. So now I have to inspect each item ordered to insure all the ingredients are on it? Are you kidding me? The food is good. The customer service could use some improvements. The take out counter is a bit slow with helping customers. There are a lot of staff working in the kitchen, at the fish counter, and two cashiers taking orders. There's two people in line...it took over 10 minutes for them to take orders. These were not big orders, only 3-4 items. The staff were not helpful, they stood around talking to each other, looking bored, and texting on their cell phones, etc. Once we got the food-it was delicious. We ate outside at the picnic tables. There were no trash cans anywhere to throw the trash away--which is weird because they had a lot of tables and chairs for people to eat right outside of the market. Where do they expect people throw away trash when they're done??? I see a lot of people picking up catering orders while we were eating outside. I guess it's more conducive to do that, rather than order take out lunch there. The food IS good. The service at the counter is not. The front desk staff at my hotel recommended that I visit Big Fish when I asked for recommendations on where to get good crab cakes, given that they are a seafood market, expect more turnover and the seafood to be fresher. Visited one Saturday afternoon around 4PM and the store was pretty empty, waited about 15 minutes for the order to be ready. Ordered the crab cake entree that came with 2 crab cakes and 2 sides (picked mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach), the market price for the entree was $40. The crab cakes were of good size, had jumbo lumps of crab, very little filler, and loved the creamy dipping sauce -- very satisfied with the crab and the sides. The best we have found in Rehoboth for fresh uncooked fish. There is a seafood market about a block before that we stopped into first that had no selection so finding this place was great. We also tried the 'fresh market. Big fish had no flounder, sole, or Chilean sea bass when we stopped in, however their sushi grade tuna was excellent and they had black and while sesame seeds to compliment. They were also very accommodating to cut pieces whatever size we wanted. They had a verity of cheese and cut cakes that looked tasty. We tried a prepared potato au gratin from their salad & sides but this was a fail. We took two of them. They told us it's precooked just heat in the microwave the first one we heated and it was crunchy (had the consistency of half cooked onions). The potatoes were hard and undercooked. The next one we cooked for at least 5 then +2 for the same result. We threw them both out. . They are a small shop so they're not one stop but they have a thoughtful selection worth checking out and we'll be back. The second time we stopped in was closer to dinner time and their parking lot was full. Their restaurant is right next door and draws crowds. read more

Grabbed takeout from Big Fish Seafood Market on a Sunday evening and food was ready within 25 minutes. We ordered a regular jambalaya (side of French fries), which we found out was also gluten free. I'm severely gluten sensitive so I ordered gluten free crab cakes with sides of the sweet potato mash and spinach. My husband said the jambalaya was good, not too spicy, and a lot of food (he could barely eat half). The 2 small GF crab cakes were tasty, but incredibly tiny, and did not come with a side of sauce. But the sweet potato mash and spinach were good. My food was not filling at all, yet was double the price (jambalaya was $20, two GF crab cakes were $40). My ultimate grilled combo was very good but the oysters were a big disappointment I found two live crawlers in there. The second one was too big for me not to take a picture. There are sides, drinks, desserts and other prepackaged items available. The Peanut Butter Pie and Big Fish Bakery cookies are delicious. Hey, I have a love affair with peanut butter. We just moved to Delaware and wanted to find a good seafood market. Stopped here and were glad we did. Understanding that COVID has limited many places on what and how much they sell, they had a nice assortment. We ended up getting some marinated salmon and crab cakes. Both were excellent. Horrific service. Whats the point of pre ordering food if you make your customers wait over 60, literally 60 full minutes just to pick it up? The staff is also really disorganized and they are dismissive when you ask them where the food is and to later realize that they screwed up. It took them 45 minutes to even realize that they screwed up and never made my order. There is clearly an expectation set among the staff that its perfectly acceptable to be routinely late for pickup orders. Further, the staffs priority is clearly focused on not being bothered from their current task of accepting new orders. Meanwhile they have 3 people taking orders and money and 1 girl running around handing food out. Does that even make sense? Here is an idea, take less orders, you are self centered and inconsiderate of your customers. Your time is not more valuable than mine. Not worth waiting 50 minutes for mediocre $7 box lunches. And I EMPHASIZE medicore. While my experience was certainly worse than most, its worth noting that my experience was not entirely unique. Every person who was in front of me in line waited at least 20-30 minutes for their pre ordered food. They gave me a credit for a future purchase. Needless to say I will not be using it. I read more

Their tuna, in particular, is first rate, and blackens perfectly. The clams and mussels are immaculately clean and fresh. Wow, we had a 2016 Holiday party and did an on-line order of the seared rare Ahi-Tuna platter that serves 15. IT WAS FANTASTIC! Our neighbors enjoyed this platter so much and we received so many compliments on it that we definitely recommend this platter for any party. The arrangement was beautifully done, with Tuna slices encircling a mound of Udon noodles. Chopsticks were placed in a pleasing design throughout the platter, very cool! The online ordering system is easy to navigate, but there are no photos of the platters, which is an awful shame because this one was amazing. The market is beautiful, with a great display of fresh fish. We've eaten at the restaurant many times, you can't go wrong with the food here. Great stuff. read more
