Peanut butter pie for pi day.
    Tyra G.

Our service was very attentive and thoughtful. We split our salad and dinner and were really full. I loved the tuna fish dressing and crackers as a starter. The Brussel sprout salad was crisp and fresh tasting. Loved the scallops and oysters we shared. He ate all the shrimp. Loved the fresh spinach and green beans. We mainly came because it's pi day. They had two pies we could use to celebrate it with. We are going for peanut butter pie. Restaurant was very clean and I loved the paper and crayons on the table. I also appreciated the old bay seasoning on the table ready to use. The pie was not too sweet but decadent. Love! Thank you so much for putting the pi symbol on the plate for him.

Gluten free crab cakes come with 2 small crab cakes and two sides - pictured here are sweet potato hash and spinach

Grabbed takeout from Big Fish Seafood Market on a Sunday evening and food was ready within 25 minutes. We ordered a regular jambalaya (side of French fries), which we found out was also gluten free. I'm severely gluten sensitive so I ordered gluten free crab cakes with sides of the sweet potato mash and spinach. My husband said the jambalaya was good, not too spicy, and a lot of food (he could barely eat half). The 2 small GF crab cakes were tasty, but incredibly tiny, and did not come with a side of sauce. But the sweet potato mash and spinach were good. My food was not filling at all, yet was double the price (jambalaya was $20, two GF crab cakes were $40). So for the taste aspect and to be able tenjoy gluten free crab cakes, I would give them a 5. BUT the price and ridiculously small portions for the gluten free foods would be more like a 3.

    Creepy crawlers from my oysters.

We placed an order for four people at 5:40 PM and by 7:45 our food we're still not ready. My ultimate grilled combo was very good but the oysters were a big disappointment I found two live crawlers in there. The second one was too big for me not to take a picture. So basically the oysters were not cleaned well enough. they were not served on ice like we used to get it from them before. This place is slacking since the lockdown. We used to come here all the time when we're in the ocean city area.

It pains me to write this because I've been a fan for 15+ yrs. I got salmon carry out & the salmon was overcooked & tasteless. Then I was sick after eating it. A few nights later I picked up a spinach salad & wound up throwing it away because more than 1/2 the Spinach was too rotten to eat.

Are you all aware of their lunch and dinner carry-out menu? We use it as a grocery store - primarily for seafood, but occasionally we'll grab other stuff (e.g., cheese, sausage, crackers, salad etc.). If we lived closer, you can bet we'd be dining on takeout from this place on a regular basis. As a market, the selection tends to be higher-end and a bit limited (i.e., think seafood market + other useful items). The seafood selection, however, is high-end and terrific! Sushi-grade Tuna. Amazing (cold) smoked salmon... the list goes on... very nice!

Great fresh seafood options! In particular, the swordfish was great and the rest of my party enjoyed their meals too.

We went here on Tuesday night July 3 2012. The primary reason we picked the Captains Table is…read morebecause it was next door to our hotel. Let me start off by saying that in my opinion I am a pretty forgiving reviewer, but the Captain's Table belongs on Restaurant Impossible or some other reality show. OK, so the decor is old and needs updated. Big deal. The place was nearly empty, so what. We ordered the Seafood Platter which had 3 scallops, 3 grilled shrimp, 1 crab cake, three little neck clams and a piece of broiled flounder. Our sides were baked potato and Cole slaw. The scallops were fair, but rather tasteless. The crab cake was OK. The little neck clams were dry. The grilled shrimp were good. The broiled flounder was disgusting. It (flounder) was a pile of mush with no flavor with the texture of jello. The Cole slaw and baked potato were good enough. So, in total, the dinner was just marginal, if you forget about the flounder. Oh, I almost forgot, while we were there we heard them say that they were now out of both corn and baked potato's. Now the service, if you can call it service. Our waitress only checked on us once as she was walking by so there goes our chance to show her the flounder mess on our plate. Next after waiting and watching our waitress bus a table, take an order from a new table, we were able to get her to bring us our check. Almost out of here, right. Wrong. Now we get to watch her bring food to the other table, go bus another table and go into the kitchen. Finally we had to yell for her to please come and take our payment. She did seem to do a better job for the other table which seemed to be locals. We did confront the waitress about the lack of service, which she said we weren't happy when we walked in. What? We also complained to the hostess/manager and her comment was only "Really". I hate to totally complain about a restaurant, but I sorry, the Captain's Table really needs to shut their doors.

I had my DOUBTS...place was stuck in the 1970s, dark, and the average age of each adult patron was…read more106. I mean this place looked exactly like something Robert Irving would show on Restaurant Impossible! Still, we had just pulled into town, it was pouring like crazy, and we were hungry. It was early, about 6:0pm and there were about twenty people in the place. Our waitress (Brenda) was friendly and attentive. The meal we had was rather decent: stuffed flounder, crab cake (single portion), and a cheeseburger. I thought the prices expensive, but then again all of the seafood in the Ocean City, Dewey Beach, Fenwick City area is overpriced for the quality of stuff they serve. The sides were also decent: salads w/ homemade dressing, fries, and a baked potato. I also ordered a bowl of NE Clam Chowder...which the waitress forgot. Yet, she made sure it did not go on the bill and gave me a complimentary cup of the chowder when my burger was served. I guess I'm giving the Captain's Table three stars because my expectations were so LOW upon entering...certainly not because the meal was anything to write home about; especially if one considers the price: $25 (Flounder) and $16 (single portion crab cake). Oh, the NE clam chowder was, in a word: OUTSTANDING. Before writing this, I checked the other ratings on this place and am not surprised; I either got a lucky break from the norm or the Captain read them and decided to take some action - at least w/ the flounder, burger, and crabcake. Would I come back? Eh, best not press my luck...
