The handmade pupusa was one of my favorites it was soft, cheesy, and packed with flavor. You could really taste that it was freshly made. The ceviche tostada plate was super fresh and refreshing, a great balance to all the richer dishes. Everything we had was delicious, and our server Melissa was awesome. She made sure everyone at the party was well taken care of and kept things running smoothly.

I am so confused by the 5 stars. Maybe there family members or friends. I went to granada hills saw all the trucks decided to get pupusas (1st time trying). Bought 3 pupusas for 17.50 (ok that's way pricier than most actually amazing pupusa places) but I was like if they are good and worth it why not pay.. 1st red flag he said do you want a bag or not because If you do I have to charge an extra 25 cents. Like if i'm not already paying enough for pupusas to include the bag. Anyway there was no line, not even 1 person ahead of me. I waited and let the guy know I would go walk around to check out the other trucks. Walked around came back they were still not ready. Waited there and watch him making pink/red masa balls like he makes tortillas in the tortilla machine. Another red flag. He finally gave me my order. Since theres no seats obviously drove home to eat. (not a problem) My pupusas were like 2 tortillas made in the machine pressed together looked like a "mulita" "quesadilla"... Guess he doesn't know how to make them by hand (the traditional way). He uses the tortilla machine. they looked so weird ! I take the first bite, and the masa is raw ! Yuck! the pupusas look nothing like the picture. Worst pupusas ever, with raw masa and very small for the price. I was in shock Spending almost 18 bucks ! Like Wow I've never had worst pupusas. Even the 1.50 special pupusas near my house are 10x better and same size as these, well cooked. My 9yr daughter spit it out when I let her try. Raw masa !!! Lots of white people in that area and walking around the food trucks. Maybe they buy? and don't know about real yummy tasting pupusas! I watched this truck park in front of a lady selling valentines baskets on the corner in Pasadena. She asked if he could just pull up a few more feet in order to allow cars passing by to see the items she has for sale, but he refused. Even thought the lady was at the spot first, he refused to even compromise. His actions speaks volumes and i definitely wouldn't buy anything from him after that behavior. read more

She lets me practice speaking Spanish with her while I'm still learning, and I really appreciate that. I'll typically get two fish tacos, or four if I'm especially hungry. Overall, Tacos Ensenada is my ultimate favorite fish taco spot in Los Angeles. We ordered the fajita plate $30 (+ taxes) a massive spread with a separate plate of rice and beans and they brought out THREE corn tortillas. THREE... I am Mexican. I have eaten at hundreds of restaurants in my lifetime and have never been given only three tortillas for a plate that size. We asked for more tortillas and were charged $4 with zero warning. It's not about the money it's the principle. The charge was never disclosed. When I brought it up with the owner, Lupita, she was dismissive and couldn't explain the reasoning it's not even homemade tortillas. You can literally buy 90 tortillas for $4 at a grocery store! She took off one of the charges but kept the other $2. Meanwhile, they offer unlimited chips and complimentary salsa without blinking. The inconsistency is baffling. We genuinely wanted to support this family-run restaurant we loved seeing the family come in together. But the disrespect during that conversation made it impossible to leave on good terms. Do yourself a favor and drive about a 1.5 miles down the street to El Metate. Their large shrimp cocktail is $15, is so flavorful, and the staff treats you like family. Their pozole is outstanding too. We found them on our first failed attempt to come here and we'll be going back to them exclusively from now on. We will never return to Lupita's and made it clear to not go there in our community thread with 15K people. Unless you like hidden fees and mediocre tasteless overpriced food then this is your place otherwise...don't come here.
