Let me start off by saying my mom is from El Salvador and through the years I have learned these so called authentic places always fall short of my mom's pupusas. When my boyfriend said Chef Lima (A man) was whipping up pupusas, I had to go see and taste for myself. When we arrived it was such a friendly ambience we ordered and ate there. We tried a little of everything, spinach and cheese, jalapeño and cheese, chicken and cheese and revueltas. We washed it all down with their thirst quenching ensalada drink it was the perfect balance to our meal. Oh yea and we had platanos, we had quite the appetite! Exceptionally bland. The curtido is just chopped red cabbage, no kick at all. The 'salsa' is just tomato juice. The 'spicy' fried plantain sauce was plain mayonnaise. As a Salvadorian this place is the worst by far I took my wife and daughter to thi place bought 2 combos and 2 drinks it came out to 75.00 the chicharones are undercooked and had a pupusa and it didn't have anything inside when it was supposed to be beans and cheese con loroco the yuka frita wasn't frita and it was really greese as soon my wife eat the pupusa got diarrhea is a shame to call this truck comida salvadoreña read more

One of the main reasons I frequent the Altadena Farmers market every Wednesday. This place never disappoints. I get their revuelta pupusa light cheese w/ garnishes on the side. Their pupusas are consistently good- not greasy and perfect size for $3.50. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Their ensalada (a drink) is literally so good and is the best option to help you wash down the pupusa. It is super refreshing. I'll be honest with you and say I've tried a few Salvadoran places and pupusas have not always been my favorite item. However, after trying Big Grandmas Kitchen pupusas are one of my favorites now. Keep your eye out for them and definitely try it. Sometimes the wait period is long (they're very popular) but they're so good I don't care. read more

Very good food. We had the loroco, revueltas, garlic, and jalapeño pupusas. Everyone one of them was delicious. The pineapple and mango drink was great to wash all the food down. I couldn't get enough of the pickled cabbage. The food truck was in upland at the time and we stopped to eat there by chance. read more

This isn't Salvadorian Food, doesn't taste like Salvadorian food. I give it 2 stars because my kids liked the cheese pupusas. The Ensalada tasted like water, the yucca and chicharrón were undercooked, the pastelitos tasted nasty and looked like wet dog food. I don't like leaving bad reviews but the owner didn't even say hi, was busy talking to his friends and not taking care of his customers. This isn't authentic Salvadorian food. read more

Hired them for my daughters birthday party and they were so amazing! They provided the BEST customer service by even greeting my guests as they walked in and explaining all the items they had to each person. Their food was just as amazing as their pop up spots. My girlfriend and I began by ordering 2 orders of the revliais pupusa (which they recommended as their popular item). He will then proceed to accept your cash money and give you inaccurate change (less than what you're supposed to get) and tell you they don't have change in coins (after having already taken your money). They will only give you your full change back if you have change to give them at that point. Then we had to wait about 15 minutes and when we finally get our order, they decided to put both of our orders in one box with only one set of silverware, 1 container of the shredded purple cabbage, and 1 container of the sauce (cheap much?). I figured fine....I can understand all of that but when I ate the food, it was not good and my gf only ate a bite and didn't want any more. The food actually ruined my appetite and now I'm not feeling so great (up to that point I had eaten pretty good mexican food at the other vendors on-site at the festival). I just want tell u that I tried the fried yucca with chichiroan and it was really gud. I like to try new dishes and hapi that they come out with new dishes. It was to go so they put the salsa and cabbage on the side for me. Also the best pupusas ever. I get the bean and cheese or jalapeno and cheese or spinach /cheese and Silvia asks if I want the salsa/cabbage on top or on the side and also if its for here or to go. I go every saturday to west covina farmers market just to get the pupusas. Sylvia her brother and sister in law are always so nice and friendly.
