This is my go-to spot for Fish Taco Tuesdays in Altadena. I was craving fish tacos today, so I stopped by again. They recently raised the price to $4.11 for two fish tacos, which is still a good deal in today's economy. I also come by on Thursdays for their meat taco specials, which I believe are now $3.71 after the price increase. Parking is easy since they share a large parking lot with SuperKing and Panda Express. I'll definitely keep coming back whenever a taco craving hits. read more

Tacos Ensenada is a small taco chain specializing in fish and seafood tacos. I live near this location and have been wanting to check it out for some time. I was not impressed. I ordered the two fish taco combination plate ($10.99) which consisted of two of their signature fish tacos, rice, beans, and a small drink. Their signature fish taco was good, a fried piece of fish between two street taco tortillas, lettuce, salsa, and sour cream. The taco was a good rush of flavor with a little tang, but was somewhat soggy and flimsy. The rice was fair, and the refried beans a terrible, gelatinous mess that left behind pool of tepid bean water after each spoonful. The interior is colorful, but busy. It is not overtly dirty, but certainly far from the cleanest establishment I've been to. A condiment bar with peppers, onions, and lemons sat to the side, which I was reluctant to approach. The staff was friendly, however, guided me through the menu, and made a good recommendation. The turnaround time was very quite quick as well, perhaps 3-4 minutes. The value ($12 after tax) I thought was fairly middling for food of fair quality. I could get more quality for less at Chipotle or elsewhere. I would reconsider coming to Ensenada again for a special and for the fish tacos only, but not otherwise. Perhaps I am not the target audience for Tacos Ensenada. I stopped here today for lunch and I am glad I did. I had ordered two tacos, one beef and one chicken and the lady said that if I get the special it comes with rice and frijoles and a soda so I did. They overload the tacos with plenty of meat and the amount of rice and beans are the right amount. The food is really tasty here. There is indoor seating here and a restroom if you need it, I was able to wash my hands prior to eating. The menu is very extensive and lots of choices. The place is kept clean and the staff is friendly. I highly recommend this place to others. read more

This location is small and busy, offering indoor seating. Plenty of parking! With that said, we always order takeout at least once a week. My go to dishes are the fish tacos, shrimp tacos, shrimp burrito, and oh my gosh, the bean and cheese burrito is hefty. The carne asada burrito and tacos are satisfactory, but I keep coming back for their seafood. Overall, the portions are generous for the price and there are plenty of peppers and onions to go on the side. The food is always delicious and my family is always satisfied with our meal. Fish Tacos for $1.50 on Tuesdays ... what a deal! And they're *good* fish tacos, too! This location has both indoor and outdoor seating. On-site restrooms are available. The staff is easy to deal with. Plenty of parking is available on site. The condiment bar has purple onion slices, lime slices, and chili peppers available. Unfortunately, their beverage machine was broken during my visit, so I had to settle for their selection of bottled/canned drinks instead of getting a cup of horchata. :( read more

Came in here Saturday around lunch time and it was busy but everything ran smooth. I pre ordered over the phone and when I got there my food was ready. There's also designated parking for tacos Ensenada so you're sure to be close. It's located right off Lincoln in a big Plaza next to a grocery store but there's always parking ! So like the Duarte location when you order to go, they don't make the order. We lost our house in the Altadena Eaton fires before the fires we went to Taco Ensenada at least weekly so we decided to go back .....what a mistake ! Service has definetly declined the last taking our order couldn't get it right and brought everything to my attention until after we paid . Fifty five dollars later she tells me the birria taco only comes with the consume if you ordered 3 the picyire shows 2 and doesn't mention anything . They used to be $1 each on Tuesdays, but recently gone up to $1.25. Still a phenomenal deal! Their fish tacos are SO big that it's probably the size of 2 of the tacos of the other places. Their fish tacos have all the hallmarks of what a great fish taco should have. Flakey, crunchy fried fish, accompanied by fresh slaws and cream. Their salsa is not for the faint of heart. If you're a wuss like me, I suggest you ask for it on the side. My first time there, I thought for $1 I'll be getting dinky tacos so I ordered 10 tacos for myself. I ended up eating just 4. For non-spicy eaters, I would skip the salsa (it's spicy) and ask for extra pico de gallo, if you like. They do charge extra for salsas/condiments. Great stuff. It's worth it. $1.25 is not much for the incredible flavor and quality of this taco. I keep going to have fish tacos at other places and nothing beats this place. The batter is light and crunchy. The sauce they put on has a bit of spice to it which is wonderful. They have three free sides for you to grab: Vinegar red onions, spicy peppers, and limes. I can never have enough peppers.
