The service is attentive and efficient. The food was marginal. A local recommended the burnt ends, so my husband and I split half a pound as our entree and ordered a side of fries with that. Most of the meat was fat. It was quite a operation to uncover the editable portion of the chunks we were given. The ends were not well cooked and the bbq sauce was okay--nothing special. We were visiting from out of state and wanted some bbq. The menu looked good online so we came on a Wednesday night around 7pm. Place was packed, not a table open. The servers were hustling around to get orders processed. Minus stars for the lack of customer service. We stood with our kids at the front counter and even though I saw servers look at us, it took a good 30min for one to quickly come up and tell us sorry the tables are full. Finally as people left we were seated. The family behind us who were locals said they've never seen it so busy. Service was poor. Server took our drink order and corrected me on how I said Teton beer, did not bring my wife her coke, and when I asked for it she brought it out without a straw. When we ordered the food, they do not have a kids menu so we opted for the chicken tenders for the kids. Because I saw different dipping sauces on the menu, I said the kids would like bbq. She said "you have bbq on the table" and pointed at the bottles. Gee thanks!! I had the combo plate with ribs and brisket. Both were really good! The bbq beans and coleslaw were great as well. The stars are really for the good food! It sounds like it was the once in a blue moon the place gets that busy, but at least greet customers who ended up waiting 40min to get seated. They were out of all sodas the day we were there. Our food took forever to arrive at the table and it seemed a couple orders came out before ours. We had the Philly, Cuban, and chicken bacon wrap. Excellent BBQ in town although the prices did go up from previous posted menus pics I couldn't complain with the amount of food they give you. Serving sizes are large and quick our burnt ends were a half order which was plenty for the two of us we couldn't eat it all. I had the combo plate of two meats and two sides for $20. I had the brisket and 4 ribs along with baked beans and slaw all was very filling. The ribs were delicious and were the first thing to go off my plate. They served us two bbq sauce bottles original and spicy. The spicy was a bit sweet and not spicy at all so I opted for the original. The baked beans could have used a little more flavor in them but I did enjoy the slaw. Next time I plan to try the mac n cheese as a side as many people recommend it. As we finished eating it got really busy and I noticed the people next us had terrible service so I recommend going in early and beating the busy crowds. We did have to wait awhile to get to go boxes and pay for our food our bill sat on the table with our money for quite some time and we saw people waiting to be sat so we walked up to the bar to hand them our bill. We sat on the patio since we had the pup with us. It was a beautiful day, with a view overlooking the gondolas on the ski slopes. I had the brisket sandwich with onion rings and the Hubbs ordered the mini burger- which really was tiny. Everything was very good! The beer was cold and refreshing. The nachos were tasty. Kid had pulled chicken w fries which he liked Hubby had the burnt tip which he enjoyed I had the pulled pork sandwich which was tasty once I added their bbq sauce. From sitting from an outside perspective you couldn't tell whether the employee greeting me was a brother I hadn't seen in ten years or not. Extremely kind and attentive, and they were like this with everyone. We sat at the bar in front of the kitchen which led us to seeing majority of the food being prepared. I watched them fry to tortilla chips fresh for my nachos. That being said, we ordered the nachos appetizer, a small burger and macaroni, and a cheesesteak. The nachos were nothing like we anticipated. We went to buffalo wild wings the day before and got nachos as well to pay about 50 percent more for half as much food. The nachos at BHB were massive and came with about everything they had in the kitchen to put on top. The small burger and cheesesteak were great but hard to finish after not trying to waste the ten pounds of cheese, chips, and fresh toppings prior. The store was rustic and homely. Though our group required accommodation for seating, we were sat in a timely manner. The bad: Service could be improved. It is a smaller sized place to dine so as said before, seating a large party of 9 required some accomodations. One thing that was a bit off putting was hygiene and cleanliness handling certain things. By far our best BBQ stop in the area. We were on vacation for one week and tried several places before and after Big Hole. It was my favorite and least expensive meal all week. The irony is, our hotel was just over the top of this restaurant so we got to smell the BBQ each day. The atmosphere was fun as soon as we arrived. We were seated immediately. Our server was a bit casual but he did remember our order. It took a little while to come out and I think it was because he was distracted by so many things going on. They're definitely a bit understaffed for the tourist season but they did a decent job of getting us in during dinner hour with a not too long wait. Coming from Texas, where BBQ is king, I have to admit I didn't have particularly high expectations, but given where we are, I have to say they did a pretty passable job. The portion sizes are ginormous (you can't leave hungry) and heavy (you'll need the nap, like good bbq will do to you). We tried a lot of things after a very long day hike but definitely would recommend the onion rings - thin, crisp shell that is fried to perfection. The smoked chicken wings aren't bad either - especially if you add some of the hot bbq sauce. I say pass on the burnt ends though - they are super dry and bland. For the main course, I got a B-Melt with fries. The brisket is still a bit dry but cheese covers a multitude of bbq imperfections. The roll is soft too and the perfect vehicle for what you're about to consume. The fries are really good though - well fried and plentiful. If you're looking for a meal in Jackson Hole, wouldn't say no to coming back but just not if you're coming from ATX. read more

We were passing through from CO and while many places required a reservation in advance, we got lucky and snagged both parking in front and bar seating here at prime dinner time. The front door to wait at is on the far left corner of the restaurant but not very visible. Larger parties were waiting outside but they do accommodate seating for larger groups. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I ordered a Caesar salad with chicken and my friend ordered a combo plate. We shared fried okra. All was tasty. I was actually surprised the chicken was smoked and it surely enhanced my meal. All portions were generous and more than enough food for 2 people considering we left with to go boxes. I honestly don't know what went wrong. Read some great reviews, then tried it and was pretty disappointed. We got the wings- great flavor. The nachos- looked great, but the queso had no flavor. As I was eating it I could register the texture of the queso but it was the absence of flavor- very strange. Burnt ends- the flavor was amazing, but the meat was extremely soft. I expect there to be some fat in my meat, but I wouldn't have ordered if I knew i was getting some meat with my fat. When I think of burnt ends, I think a little crunchy, or at least just texture of meat. This was uncharacteristically soft, was not expecting that. I honestly was only able to eat one piece, so that was unfortunate. Fried okra: the dipping sauce was good. I Wondering if they had a off night???
