The drinks are a bit inconsistent but better than some other places Just be aware they charge extra for a SPLASH of oat milk which doesn't really make sense. I've only been to this coffee shop twice, and unfortunately both visits left me with a disappointing impression. The first time, I was deciding between two drinks and asked the cashier which one she recommended. I went with her suggestion, but after trying it, I realized I really didn't like the taste. I politely asked if I could switch to a different drink, but was told no because of the store's policy. While I understand that policies exist, I later called the customer service number listed on their social media to confirm that this was indeed their policy. Instead of addressing my question, the person I spoke with seemed more concerned about asking, "How did you get this phone number?" That interaction felt unprofessional and dismissive. My second visit wasn't much better. My friend and I walked in, and the cashier didn't greet us or acknowledge that she'd be with us shortly. She was making another drink, looked over at us, then looked away, and we waited about five minutes without any acknowledgment. When the customer she was helping came up to pick up their drink, she took the time to have a brief conversation with them while we continued waiting to order. When she finally came over, there was no apology for the wait or even a simple "Hi, how are you?"--just, "What can I get you?" The coffee may be good, but customer service plays a big role in the overall experience. Very cute ambience, but it gets busy (since the coffee is so good) and can get loud on the weekends. They have pour overs (two coffee bean options). The breakfast sandwiches are good if you want a little something, the avocado toast wasn't my favorite. I really like their roasted coffee bean selection, but I have been frustrated on my last two trips because a lot of the bags on the shelf had been roasted a month or two prior. Located in the Town Centre Plaza directly off of 2nd St and tucked in between Central Blvd/Brentwood Blvd, "Big House Beans Cafe", a locally owned-and-operated coffeehouse has been brewing up delicious hot/iced coffees, espresso beverages, and teas dating back to early-2018. They also have very traditional hours being opened for business 7 days a week from 7:30am-3:00pm. I came here with my lady during the morning of Saturday 7/5/2025 at around 9:55am. Considering this was during the weekend and a day after a major holiday, the business was absolutely packed (which was a good sign). Luckily we found parking within close proximity and noticed just how vibrant and lively this place was. The menu offers all the traditional options (coffee, espresso, teas) as well as lots of food choices (toasts, stuffed toasts, bowls, & waffles). Since we were passing through (on our way home to Sacramento), we needed a little caffeine boost to jumpstart our morning to make the drive a bit easier. We both ended up ordering a 16 oz. size of their "Iced Maple Cinnamon Latte" (priced at around $7). As I mentioned, this place was nonstop packed with customers but we still got our drinks (simultaneously) within 5-7 minutes. The overall coffee flavor is good; a bit on the sweeter side but still an overall solid choice. I did want to add that the interior layout of this place had a beautiful, modern design. The heavy use of wooden panels that gracefully flows through the building combined with very cool white on black wallpaper really give this place a modern, upscale vibe. Interior seating is equally as impressive with a ton of comfy chairs for small and large parties. I also wanted to add that they also have a generous outdoor patio area; perfect for the more comfortable mornings and afternoons no matter what the occasion. All in all, "Big House Beans" is a great above-average local coffeehouse that serves Brentwood (and surrounding areas such as Antioch, Oakley, and Discovery Bay). Customer service was excellent as the employees worked tirelessly assisting everyone while the selection was great. Prices are a bit high but are relative to other places in the Bay Area. Quality coffee! We came after spending the morning berry picking and this was a perfect pick me up for a 99 degree saturday. Super fast service (drinks came out almost instantly after ordering) and plenty of seating. Plenty of people on their laptops or with friends, and the space is super bright with lots of sunlight. Found out about Big House Beans because of our FYP local girl @jantri8! She said it's the closest our area will get to Erewon and honestly, I came in cause I was craving a smoothie with almond butter ~ similar to the almond smoothie from Sidewalk juice (in SF!!) This definitely wasn't comparable cause it' should be its own HYPE. I'll come back for the next flavor but the blueberry is a 10/10 for me. Not too sweet and flavorful. Love the inside of this place with the cute decor and cozy home vibes. Lately, I've been staying away from gluten and so thankful this place serves gluten free waffles and has gluten free bread. I ordered from the fall menu a Tomato balsamic avocado toast sub gluten free bread. It was flavorful and I definitely want to make it at home. Haha. My pumpkin cream cold brew was good as well. I like their coffee. I could have it without the cold foam. My mom enjoyed her pesto croissant and caramel latte. She's usually picky with coffee, but glad she liked it.
