The food was absolutely delicious!! The service was a little slow on the food but probably due to them being super busy so I didn't mind waiting. Tried the new blueberry muffin latte and it was so yummy!

My love and I had a breakfast date today, and it was such a nice experience. We finally had time to sit down and enjoy our meal there, and we really loved the mugs they serve the coffee in. The breakfast sandwich was delicious, and as always, the service was phenomenal. This has been our favorite local coffee spot for a long time, and we come here often. Most of the time I place to-go orders since I'm usually on the go. But today was special because we both had the day off. We took our time, sat outside, and enjoyed the beautiful weather while having coffee and breakfast together. It was the perfect, relaxing start to the day.

Super cute shop. They have tables and benches inside and outside and it's more like study and chill place so the ambiance was really nice. Service: Quick and efficient; we got all 4 drinks under 10mins. The cashier at the front was really friendly too. Drinks: Pretty solid options. Banana protein was really tasty and so was my lavender latte. Matcha latte was really weak imo-- the flavors in this drink were not balanced well. Breakfast burrito - Taste was fine but it was not rolled up in a burrito at all...?

Solid coffee shop located in the heart of Brentwood. Located in the Town Centre Plaza directly off of 2nd St and tucked in between Central Blvd/Brentwood Blvd, "Big House Beans Cafe", a locally owned-and-operated coffeehouse has been brewing up delicious hot/iced coffees, espresso beverages, and teas dating back to early-2018. They also have very traditional hours being opened for business 7 days a week from 7:30am-3:00pm. I came here with my lady during the morning of Saturday 7/5/2025 at around 9:55am. Considering this was during the weekend and a day after a major holiday, the business was absolutely packed (which was a good sign). Luckily we found parking within close proximity and noticed just how vibrant and lively this place was. The menu offers all the traditional options (coffee, espresso, teas) as well as lots of food choices (toasts, stuffed toasts, bowls, & waffles). Since we were passing through (on our way home to Sacramento), we needed a little caffeine boost to jumpstart our morning to make the drive a bit easier. We both ended up ordering a 16 oz. size of their "Iced Maple Cinnamon Latte" (priced at around $7). As I mentioned, this place was nonstop packed with customers but we still got our drinks (simultaneously) within 5-7 minutes. The overall coffee flavor is good; a bit on the sweeter side but still an overall solid choice. I did want to add that the interior layout of this place had a beautiful, modern design. The heavy use of wooden panels that gracefully flows through the building combined with very cool white on black wallpaper really give this place a modern, upscale vibe. Interior seating is equally as impressive with a ton of comfy chairs for small and large parties. I also wanted to add that they also have a generous outdoor patio area; perfect for the more comfortable mornings and afternoons no matter what the occasion. All in all, "Big House Beans" is a great above-average local coffeehouse that serves Brentwood (and surrounding areas such as Antioch, Oakley, and Discovery Bay). Customer service was excellent as the employees worked tirelessly assisting everyone while the selection was great. Prices are a bit high but are relative to other places in the Bay Area. My rating, an above average four stars.

I was in the area and stopped by for a latte. When I first walked in I thought wow this place is a vibe. There is a lot of seating, natural light, and the tables are real wood which gives it a nice cozy feel. The latte was pretty solid, and I like their branding on the cup. The service was not the best, the wait time for a coffee was very long and the staff had a standoff ish vibe like they didn't want me there. Regardless of the service I would come back again.

Quality coffee! We came after spending the morning berry picking and this was a perfect pick me up for a 99 degree saturday. Super fast service (drinks came out almost instantly after ordering) and plenty of seating. Plenty of people on their laptops or with friends, and the space is super bright with lots of sunlight. Cold brew - perfect, hit of sweetness, very balanced and easy to drink. Maple Cinnamon Latte - Not overly sweet and generous with the cinnamon, very yummy. Americano - the beans have a smoky flavor profile. I went back for this as my second drink after the loving the latte, and I have no complaints, well pulled espresso and not sour. Thank you!

Their signature drinks are what keep me coming back again and again. Each one has its own personality rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. First timers here with my family. The staff was really helpful, she shared with me her favorites. I ordered a raspberry matcha latte, a breakfast burrito & an avocado toast. I have 2 toddlers so I like to vibe check new coffee shops to see if they're kid friendly, and I'm happy to report it is! They even have a couch seating area in the front of the shop and it was just very cozy. Everything we had was really good! Their breakfast burrito was so simple but so good I loved it!

First time here. Your typical coffee shop and very busy. Fortunately we found a table to sit at, last one available. Staff were friendly. I had the avocado toast which was good but very messy. The toppings were piled on that they easily fell off. My husband liked his breakfast sandwich. I had tea, and they give you a huge tea bag which made it really strong (not my preference). However, I guess the coffee wasn't strong. Overall, it was a nice change but probably not for us in the future.

I've only been to this coffee shop twice, and unfortunately both visits left me with a disappointing impression. The first time, I was deciding between two drinks and asked the cashier which one she recommended. I went with her suggestion, but after trying it, I realized I really didn't like the taste. I politely asked if I could switch to a different drink, but was told no because of the store's policy. While I understand that policies exist, I later called the customer service number listed on their social media to confirm that this was indeed their policy. Instead of addressing my question, the person I spoke with seemed more concerned about asking, "How did you get this phone number?" That interaction felt unprofessional and dismissive. My second visit wasn't much better. My friend and I walked in, and the cashier didn't greet us or acknowledge that she'd be with us shortly. She was making another drink, looked over at us, then looked away, and we waited about five minutes without any acknowledgment. When the customer she was helping came up to pick up their drink, she took the time to have a brief conversation with them while we continued waiting to order. When she finally came over, there was no apology for the wait or even a simple "Hi, how are you?"--just, "What can I get you?" The coffee may be good, but customer service plays a big role in the overall experience. Based on my two visits, I think there's a lot of room for improvement in how customers are welcomed and treated. Unfortunately, these interactions have made me hesitant to return. read more

* Busy coffee house * Long lines * Dirty table tops (mine was wobbly) * Long wait time. It took 20+ min make a sandwich that was made incorrectly. * Staff were friendly and refunded me for the inconvenience But the most important review is the coffee. It was good! The long awaited breakfast sandwich was mid. I thought the chipotle would be mayo based but it's not. I didn't care for it. LOVE their turkey pesto panini! I'm not a big coffee person, so I'm always hesitant to order coffee that will be too strong for my taste. The barista recommended ordering the vanilla latte extra sweet, and it was soo good! One of the best vanilla lattes I've had! I'll definitely be back. read more

Service was great! 5/5! However, the avocado toast and the hyped up matcha mango sticky rice drink was noooo bueno. They must've squeezed a lemon the avocado toast because why was that sooooo sour and cringe? Absolutely not. And the drink was super hyped up, super milky, more taste of the mango and rice chia pudding than the matcha. read more

I have ordered the mango sticky rice before...this time I ordered it this milk tasted spoiled. I came back to have the drink remade or choose something else and they wanted to charge me still and when I mentioned something about me charged for the drink they mentioned it can't be compensated because it's "preference". Always a welcome from the staff, they're young and are in the ball! Some places have young staff with no knowledge of customer service but BHB is different and looks like the most popular drop in for; students, moms, friends for catch ups and impromptu folks passing through Brentwood The Samoan drink was delicious and has just gone off the menu. Seasonal treats added now for fall but not tasted them yet but will be for sure . Definitely recommended read more

Found out about Big House Beans because of our FYP local girl @jantri8! She said it's the closest our area will get to Erewon and honestly, I came in cause I was craving a smoothie with almond butter ~ similar to the almond smoothie from Sidewalk juice (in SF!!) This definitely wasn't comparable cause it' should be its own HYPE. I'll come back for the next flavor but the blueberry is a 10/10 for me. Not too sweet and flavorful. The ladies working were sweet and patient, definitely had their recommendations while I asked what was their favorites and what's most ordered. They know their drinks and their vibe was coo! Place is pretty big for a "coffee shop." Big patio space with maybe 5-7 tables on the side, packed house inside with 10+ tables and even a couch/lounge vibe by the coffee bar and bathroom entry way. Maybe a place to just catch up and enjoy breakfast and drinks, maybe not for work on a midweek! Still 10:10 rec! read more

Always enjoy coming here. The staff is super friendly and the food and drinks are consistently good, which is why I keep coming back. Only thing this last visit was the avocado spread seemed a lot lighter than usual on my order. I needed a place to casually hang out before school pick up and stumbled upon big house beans. I ordered an iced lavender oat coffee and avocado toast for a quick bite. The coffee was smooth, rich and strong, while the avocado toast is tasty, crunchy and the crispy onions add texture to it. The place gives off a hip vibe, mostly people catching up, or on their laptops, either working or doing school work and I'm just here enjoying my coffee with a good read. There's also outdoor seating, perfect for the chilly fall breeze. Staff are really nice and efficient. There is also ample parking since it is located in a little plaza. read more

I love this place, it's so cute with the bright and natural aesthetic. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I was lucky to go in an hour or so before their closing time because there was nearly no one there when it's usually very busy! I asked the barista which seasonal item they recommend and for someone who likes sweet, they suggested the blackberry caramel latte. It was delicious, not overly indulgent, though I do wish it came with caramel drizzle or something. read more

Busy Saturday morning here meaning it must be good! Indeed it was. My sisters, mom and I were lucky enough to find a spot to sit at. There was also seating out on the patio. Love the inside of this place with the cute decor and cozy home vibes. Lately, I've been staying away from gluten and so thankful this place serves gluten free waffles and has gluten free bread. I ordered from the fall menu a Tomato balsamic avocado toast sub gluten free bread. It was flavorful and I definitely want to make it at home. Haha. My pumpkin cream cold brew was good as well. I like their coffee. I could have it without the cold foam. My mom enjoyed her pesto croissant and caramel latte. She's usually picky with coffee, but glad she liked it. I tried my sister's gluten free waffle and I loved me the crispy texture and the toppings she chose. My other sisters sadly didn't get all the toppings they asked for. First time here and I don't think I'll go back. Ordered a cappuccino and a chipotle cheddar breakfast sandwich. The cappuccino wasn't that hot and the chipotle sauce on the sandwich had so much lime in it was off putting. Try their new smoothies! I recently tried Strawberry Bliss and it was perfect (not too sweet -- just how I like it). I love the addition of avocado. To be honest, it's better than the Erewhon Hailey Bieber smoothie. It's a great place to study or catch up with friends whenever I'm in the area. 10/10 read more

Quick brunch trip here, it was pretty packed and busy on a saturday morning. There's a couple chairs and tables inside but outside in their patio area as well. I order a mocha and a gluten free waffle which were both very yummy. I believe that you could get every topping for the waffle which is amazing. Its really big too, nice to share between two people. I ordered chocolate chips with my waffle and didn't get them which made me a little sad but that's okay cause my sister gave me some of hers. The cafe is nice and clean with very chill vibes. Stopped by to get work done and get a latte. I ordered, sat down and waiting but my name was never called. Saw a drink on the counter & other peoples names being called for their orders. I had to go up and ask if the cup that had been sitting there with the ice melting mine. It was also not a good drink. If you want a chill place to work and have a latte it may not be the place for you. Music was loud, talking was loud, everything was just loud. So overstimulating. read more

I really wanted to love them... coffee was great.. but major fail on my breakfast sandwich. I have an allergy to rosemary and specifically mentioned that their aoli not be added and two bites in, the sandwich was filled. The need to find benadryl was not a wanted experience. Young lady was sweet and had it remade and even refunded, which was sweet. Just a note that care for those with allergies needs to be considered and taken with caution.. Really dug this place. It's kind of a hidden gem, I was visiting a friend and he lived 3 mins away and had never seen it. They've got great coffee, a friendly staff, and a chill place to work on your computer or meet a friend. Really dug the theme here, "second chances", and all they do for people who have been incarcerated and are striving to get work and get back on their feet. read more

Title: Disappointing Experience at Big bean house. I recently had a frustrating experience at big bean house that left me feeling completely disheartened. After waiting and fasting from a blood draw a staggering 40 minutes for my avocado toast, I decided to check in on the status of my order. The clerk seemed oblivious to the delay and only after I inquired did she finally turn around to look at the online orders. To my shock, she simply grabbed my meal off the shelf, raising the question of how long it had been sitting there. There was no apology for the wait or acknowledgment of my patience. Instead, she just called my name as if I hadn't been standing there watching the whole ordeal unfold. When I expressed my disappointment and asked if I could receive a refund or discount for the inconvenience, she offered a refund but seemed indifferent to the situation. As I waited for the refund, I noticed her hand my food to a regular customer who had been been there after me. I couldn't believe my eyes! It was a clear lack of respect for my time and loyalty. I left feeling undervalued and frustrated, and I'll definitely think twice before returning. I hope the management can address these issues, as customer service is key to a positive dining experience. John, It was not on online order. The sign clearly states online orders only. If it is customary, why would they "call out" other patrons names for orders. Previous customer name while I was there. I patiencely waited. Meet the Business Owner: John K.

After spending years addicted to drugs and incarceration, one of the founders fell in love with specialty coffee. The burning passion for coffee had developed a calling into the industry which led to wanting to bring people together and build community as well as creat jobs for people with barriers to employment that needed a second chance like me. Also glorifying above all else the transformation power of Christ in my life.

It was a bit surprising--not because of the policy, but because of the tone, which came across as a bit harsh. Maybe she was just having a bad day, which I can understand, but the delivery didn't feel very welcoming. I want to emphasize that I have no issue paying for water at all; in fact, I planned to go back to the car after ice cream to get water since we parked nearby. It was just the way it was said that didn't sit well. I didn't say anything at the moment since I understand everyone can have off days, but I do think consistency in how customers are spoken to is important--others might not take that tone as lightly. When I sat down, another staff member came over and offered my family water. If you happen to read this--thank you. Your kindness really meant a lot to us. your café for some coffee. I placed my own order and I didn't mention that I didn't want it in a cup. Even though I specified that it should be in a cup, extra hot, and no sweetener, I received a cold and sweet matcha latte. Later, I told them that I couldn't drink it and asked if they could make it according to my original specifications, but they told me I had to get back in line. I got back in line and waited again, and there were quite a lot of people in front of me. When it was finally my turn, I placed my order again, and they told me the price. I said, "This is my second order; I didn't make any mistake the first time; you gave me the wrong coffee." They said, "According to our rules, you need to pay again." I returned the coffee I couldn't drink and asked why I should pay again, but they repeated, "Our rules require you to pay." I said, "No, thank you, I won't drink it." As someone who regularly drinks matcha lattes, I really doubt that it was made from some kind of powder, because it was completely sweet and cold, and I just couldn't make sense of it.The issue here isn't that I don't want to pay a second time, it's that they said they couldn't help in any way. I've seen other places be more accommodating and more understanding, so the attitude of the staff really bothered me. Even my friends were dissatisfied with their drinks. One friend who ordered a cappuccino said it had no coffee taste at all, just milk, and another friend who asked for 12 ounces got 16 ounces instead. I recently visited Big House Beans for the first time and was impressed by both the food and service. I ordered the Acai Bowl, which was made with fresh acai berries, granola, bananas, blueberries, and strawberries. The bowl was delicious and filling, with crunchy and flavorful granola. I also tried the Oatmeal Bowl, which consisted of steel-cut oats, blueberries, cinnamon, and honey. The oatmeal was cooked perfectly and served with a side of fresh fruit. Overall, I had a great experience at Big House Beans. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was inviting. I would definitely recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a great cup of coffee and a delicious breakfast or lunch. read more

I stopped by Big House Beans in Brentwood and tried both the coffee and the avocado toast. The coffee was okay--personally, I felt it was more on the milky side and could have used a stronger coffee flavor, so next time I'd probably add an extra shot of espresso. On the other hand, the avocado toast was really good--very flavorful and definitely a highlight. Even though it was busy, the service was fairly quick, which I appreciated. Overall, a nice spot with great food and decent coffee that I'd tweak to my taste next visit! read more

Great coffee. Awesome setting with the large seating area and the window seats. Service was great and I was treated with a smile and friendliness. I do need to say that I was not impressed with the avocado toasts. The avocado portion was skimpy and it was frankly not as tasty as I thought it should have been. I have avocado toasts often and had only last week eaten a tremendous portion elsewhere so perhaps my expectations were high. The blueberry toasts were not bad. read more

Ordered my drinks and waited close to 25 minutes while watching the customers who ordered after me get served their orders. After watching about 5 customers get their orders before me the cashier asked me what I was waiting for and realized they never made my drinks. Terrible service. read more

I really wanted to like this coffee, but after giving it multiple tries, it just didn't work for me. Each time, it had a burnt taste and lacked any real flavor. Unfortunately, the quality just isn't there. While the atmosphere is nice, the coffee itself was a disappointment. read more
