The first thing on our agenda was, of course, coffee. Knowing how much I love exploring local coffee shops, my love found a new spot for us to try together. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and the experience did not disappoint. I ordered the Ube iced coffee, which was smooth and flavorful, while he enjoyed the "High Five," a refreshing white chocolate iced coffee. Super cute area, very good spot to study with good ambience. I always appreciate a lot of plants in a restaurant, and this café had exactly that. The cashier was very sweet, and helped my mom and I pick out flavors that we wanted. I'm actually not a coffee drinker so I really appreciate it that they had a lot of options that didn't contain any coffee. I got a guava refresher since the cashier recommended it, which was absolutely amazing. Very fresh, uplifting taste. Not watered down at all. I'm a big fan of guava and this definitely gets my approval. We also had their gluten-free Filipino cornbread. It was super moist and a great texture in my opinion. It wasn't the best pairing with my refresher, but I'm sure it tastes much better when you get coffee. My sister took us to this place, claiming it is her favorite study spot. Everything about Chill Tea and Coffee is charming. I visited today for the first time--thanks local Yelpers for helping me find it. This is a locally owned business; the husband and wife team who own it were on-site this afternoon. They operate the location on Eagle Rock (off of Balfour) as well as this location. My friend loved her custom-made decaf latte. It seemed like most of the people stopping by were ordering coffee drinks (hot and cold options), but there was something else about Chill Tea and Coffee that really set it apart from most other local cafes. I was thrilled to discover they have their own blends of loose teas, and a great variety of them, at that. I tried the Formosa Oolong; they knew whether it was a Western style Oolong or an Eastern style, and how long to steep it. After a quick steep, the golden and fragrant tea was ready; it was delicious and needed nothing added to it. I had just eaten lunch, so I didn't order anything other than the tea but they offer muffins, pastries, etc. There is a cozy seating area, and once a month or so, they offer a theme-based high tea service. Costumer service rating .. My first time going and I ordered a hazelnut iced coffee drink with ube foam . It had a weird flavor and didn't taste like hazelnut at all the ube foam was good but the coffee wasn't I went back to ask if I can switch the drink after one sip since I couldn't drink it and they said they don't do that. My wife and I went here back in March for their tea event! It was our first time here and the inside is so cozy and there was seating inside and outside. There was also a section blocked off for the tea event so that was pretty nice. We got seated right away since we had a reservation for the event. We got to pick 2 tea flavors and both of them tasted really high quality. You can even ask for cream and sugar to add to the tea for your preference! For the food, we got started with a tomato soup which tasted really fresh. The tower of pastries and sandwiches had a great selection of food too! The sandwiche flavors were egg salad, chicken salad, and cucumber with cream cheese. The egg salad was my favorite! The pastries came with a jam that tasted home made and added a great flavor to the scones. I practically used the jam on every pastry because I liked it that much The last thing we were served were some little chocolates which was a great way to end the tea event! It was very enjoyable and the staff are some of the nicest people I've met. The owner herself is so nice and you can really tell they treat their customers like family and even remember names of families and kids. Such a sweet site to see and definitely recommend coming here! Also, I really wanted to try their regular pastries and coffee so I went back a week later and got the ube cookie mochi rice krispy (pictured), ube brownie, and the dirty ube latte. Ordered pick up through their website after trying to find a small coffee shop other than sbux. Inside is cute and cozy, they were out of the ube poptart so I got ube toast instead and a s'mores coffee. Coffee was great, not overly sweet! And ube toast was delicious. Good! This is my second time having Chill Tea & Coffee. My first time there was at their other location on Balfour road and wasn't too crazy for it, but decided to try it again at this location while I was out with my fiancé at the Streets of Brentwood. I had placed an order on their website & the drink & cookie was ready quick! I had gotten a large hot dirty spiced chai with oat milk & a white chocolate chip Ube cookie. The drink came out to $7.50 & the cookie was $4.50 totaling $12. The Chai was pleasant. I have had chai tea before, but never a dirty chai, and this was a great first experience! And a big plus was that the drink was hot, but not burning hot, so I was able to enjoy it as soon as I had walked out the door. The cookie tasted great! I love Ube (being a Filipino, of course I love Ube). It wasn't too sweet & the white chocolate chips added the perfect touch to it. The only reason why I stood with a 4 star instead of 5 was the price; a drink that could have been a little less than $7.50 elsewhere, but at an occasion, isn't the worst either. $4.50 for one cookie is a little crazy, though. Maybe $2-$3 at most. The cookie was good, and it was wide, but it was pretty flat. But hey, where else can you find an Ube cookie with white chocolate chips around here? read more

A hidden gem in the streets! Chill has a variety of drinks to choose from and is a great atmosphere for studying or catching up with the friends. The workers were nice and accommodating when I asked them questions about the menu. I got a so vanilla or a vanilla latte over ice and a matcha over ice. They have good drink size portions and their coffee had good flavor and was not too sweet. One comment I had was the matcha tasted too watered down for me as I was looking for more matcha flavor. I'm very conflicted writing this review over this business because it's a small business and I want them to thrive in the economy. I have been a frequent patron on the weekends to grab a drink and a sandwich while I study with a friend. Sometimes we study in the shop, other times we've taken our food and drink to Barnes and noble when it's too loud or busy in the shop. I have had a variety of drinks offered on the menu with a positive review. -Hot/ Ice dirty chai, is always a safe bet. -Any of the chillers are great if you want a sweet refreshing drink. -The big chills send straight up electricity through my body because they are so good! (Big fan of the green apple) -In general the coffee is high quality and is very strong! The drink I've had quite a few times but has led me to write this review is the matcha lemonade. In the past, this drink has been exceptionally well made, and quite delicious. However yesterday towards the end of my studying I decided to order a second drink and wanted a matcha lemonade. When I receive my order I knew something was off because I could see grains of matcha floating around. I decided to mix the drink and try it because it has been very good the past few times I've had it. The matcha was not properly incorporated when made, so I bring it back up to the counter and ask for it to be remade because of the mistake when making it. The woman who I spoke to, from my understanding is the owner of Chill. She claimed "because we are a small business we don't remake drinks, especially if it's due to taste." I tried to explain to her that it wasn't due to taste, but because I could see a thick sediment of matcha floating around. As I was trying to explain the grittiness of the drink further she interrupted me and kept insisting that their matcha was "high quality imported matcha" and that the taste would be the same on the drink even if they remade it. I said I didn't mind the taste however there were chunks of matcha powder floating in my drink and I'd like it remade because it was made incorrectly. She once again stated that because they are a small coffee shop, they don't remake drinks because someone doesn't like the taste. I took my drink and sat back down for a bit to think about how I would convey to her that the matcha was not mixed in my drink but was floating around in it. 20 or so minutes pass as customers come in and I trying mixing my drink more in hopes it would fix the drink. But finally, disappointed and $7 poorer, I go back up to the counter and finally convey my disappointment in the drink by explaining that I make matcha at home and know even if it's high quality, it should not be this gritty. Begrudgingly she offered to "buy me a new drink" by remaking my matcha lemonade. Once remade it was the delicious smooth drink I was used to. From this interaction I am taken aback. I love supporting small businesses because my dollar counts to them, and I feel like that makes a overall positive difference in my community. Small shops like Sip and Scoop or Big House Beans don't have this odd policy. I'm curious to know what led to this policy being implemented by the Chill owner. For now, chill has left a sour taste in my mouth by this poor customer service policy. read more

Coffee was okay, got the High 5, Iced with Oat Milk. The coffee was super bitter/sour. I asked the barista if she could switch it out for a different drink or possibly remake it and she said they couldn't and could only add something to it. They suggested creamer or sweetener though I said it was already sweet and it was just the espresso that was bitter. They gave me oat milk to add, turns out the oat milk was also sour. Not sure if thats how all their drinks taste but to each their own. Nice staff though, the cashier guy who helped me was super friendly and informative. - Idk how to reply, but thanks for the response! Maybe pour-over is supposed to taste like that? I don't have enough experience with it to say- regardless, you're correct, it's probably just a different flavor profile than what I prefer. I came in as a new customer expecting to come out with a good drink. I order the Matcha, which was described as "Premium" matcha that was creamy and sweet. I have tasted many matchas, and this is by far the worst I have tasted. The drink was not creamy, very watery and had an unpleasant syrupy aftertaste. I went back to see if I can get a new drink, but was declined and given the excuse that because they are a small business they were unable to make a new drink. That is one of the lamest excuses. As a small business you should value every customer that comes in, especially new ones, and make sure they leave satisfied. You definitely lost a customer and I have seen that this has happened to other people, even loyal ones. read more

Is it time for me to renew my love for Chill? It's been a while since I went to Chill Tea & Coffee, so I decided to check out their Sand Creek location. This location is a little closer than the other location, so this is the one I visit the most. That doesn't change how delicious their drinks taste. So far I have been enjoying their POG Refreshers and they taste amazing. It's not too sweet and not too sour either. I also like their Hella Caramella as well, it's not too heavy, not too sweet, and not too bitter either (when it comes to coffee I wanna make sure it's not too bitter but still tastes like coffee). The employees are friendly and they handle their stuff well. I have had pleasant interactions with their employees and it looks to me like they enjoy what they do, which makes this experience a pleasant one. I have also visited their Antioch location as well, it was rather tiny but it was still good (I wish that was still open, I still don't know why that closed down). Anywho, if you are in the area, check out this location, as well as their other location (where Vic Stweart's is located). I was shopping at streets of Brentwood when I discovered this hidden gem. I walked inside. The ambiance was spacious, clean, and welcoming. The workers are VERY friendly and they are always ready to help. After a hot day, My daughter and I were pretty thirsty. We skimmed the menu and ultimately decided to order a Strawberry Lemonade for her, and a Very-Dirty Ube Coffee for me. I believe Chill has options for everyone, from teas and lemonades, to coffees and pastries, (which, by the way, looked super fresh and delicious.) Our order was ready in the blink of an eye. My daughter loved her drink and said it was not too sweet or sour and very refreshing. Mine was amazing. The coffee was creamy and the Ube was sweet but not too sweet. 10:45am 01/26/2024- Two stars is for the amazing vanilla pound cake which saved this experience. I ordered the Carmelo drink, after explaining I didn't like sweet drinks with reassurance this was a good option. After receiving my drink, it was literally the sweetest drink, with every single sip being a straw full of Carmel and very acidic fruity coffee to compliment it, I was unsatisfied. I took the drink back and asked if I could get something else instead because I didn't like the drink at all. It was awful and the woman at the register told me they are a small business so they don't want "us" doing that and that if it was a Starbucks she would do it. So, If I wanted another drink I would have to pay for a new drink. I kindly walked away and accepted the fate of this experience. I don't think I need to add anything else to this review.
