I stopped in to pick up some breakfast for my wife and I. I wish we would've had time to sit and eat there. The atmosphere was that perfect little hometown dinner, and the staff & patrons were unbelievably friendly and although I was taking the food to go, I ended up staying and chatting for two cups of (very good) coffee and even better conversation. The woman (I'm sorry I forgot your name) was a fellow dog lover made sure I had everything I needed e.g. utensils, condiments and enough napkins. My family was met with immediate disappointment and disrespect upon entry to this establishment. Wait staff spoke to us rudely twice before we could order; and we very quickly noticed other strange signs of a general attitude of disrespect for good paying customers and an overall disregard for a restaurant's basic duty to provide good service. So we decided to leave. As I left, I took a moment to explain that their immediate outright snotty attitude and disregard of the common courtesy of politeness forced our decision to leave. Extremely unprofessional and unwelcoming experience. We visited for breakfast today and were immediately met with a very rude and hostile attitude from the elderly woman working there. When a couple of customers came in after us to pick up takeout, my wife walked over to grab two menus. The advanced aged woman abruptly snapped, "No, I'll bring them," in a tone that was completely unnecessary. When she eventually brought the menus, she informed us that we were not allowed to have a water bottle or the empty cup we had brought with us. While policies are understandable, the way this was communicated was dismissive and confrontational. At that point, the atmosphere was so uncomfortable that we decided to leave. As we were gathering our belongings, my son--whose hands were clearly full--was sharply told to close the door. When I responded that she could close it herself, she escalated the situation further by using profanity by saying, "F you!" This level of hostility toward customers is unacceptable. We will not be returning and cannot recommend this establishment to others. read more

Good hearty food- classic country diner ambiance- a lil $ but for good country cooking it's worth it. Service was so rude! There were 8 of us that came in. We sat at two different tables. ( 4 to table) one bill for each table. Everything that we asked for she was short w us and unexplanitory, so when our bill came there was much confusion. When I asked about it she was very high tempered, Which I had to calm her down. I explained we are customers and we have the right know what we are being charged for. Part of the messy pricing was on the back and no mention of the tip was included. She explained we were a party of 8,so she added tip, rudely may I add. We came in together, but there was no accommodations and believe me her service didn't deserve a tip! The omelet was made with cheap like sandwich cheese. No child menu. Charged $2 eash for a tiny bit of salsa, unknown till ticket came and asked. Service was awful! Still gave the added tip. I was keeping my cool throughout her unprofessional attitude. She charged my boyfriend's bank twice. He called today. Same woman, same voice. She said it was a bank problem, but she ran the card twice. I remember, because she said the wrong button was pushed, so do it again, I had to ask for a receipt. 5.19.24 I've been going here for some years now, always and only on weekends before a Motocycle ride . Always very clean, gets busy by noon so come early or don't complain if you have to wait a bit . Good food at fairly reasonable prices, not a whole lot of parking but plenty in the street . Clean bathroom, unisex of course . Incredibly rude service. I asked if they had decaffeinated coffee and the woman responded as if my question was some sort of attack, like I should have known not to ask, but I should have also known what kind of tea they served as an alternative. Like asking a waitress what options are available is some sort of insulting question that is putting her out. I guess I could understand frustrated exasperation if the restaurant was packed and she was the only one working but it was dead empty, not a single other customer. The RUDEST woman whom I believe is the wife of the owner, ruined our experience. My father has told me stories over the years about how disgusting she is to her customers, and I was able to witness it for the first time this weekend. I will never be back, nor will he. Furthermore, the prices are comparable with any restaurant in Beverly Hills without the great customer service, ambiance nor food quality. A steak and egg breakfast was approx $30. I love family owned, quaint places so I'm disappointed that I have to write this review. I had an absolutely awful experience at Big John's Diner. I came in after my father passed away, already dealing with a difficult time, and was met with nothing but rudeness and attitude from the staff. When I calmly pointed out their attitude and explained that I had just lost my father and wanted to take my food to go, the server threw the to-go container at me--completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. To make matters worse, i ordered the denver potato pancakes and the food was terrible--definitely not worth the stress or the money. They were just hash browns with cheese and oil. I saw them make the coffee with mire water and not use fresh grounds and it also disgusted me. No one deserves to be treated this way, especially in a moment of grief. I walked in with my daughter and husband earlier this week out of the cold snow. We arrived at 1:15 and the owners wife made CLEAR comment (a couple times) about them closing soon at 2pm. Service was HORRIBLE! I went there with my bf who is a vet and he had his service dog who had her service dog vest CLEARLY marked. Right from the get go, the waitress greeted us with a frown . I knew right away how things were going to turn out. The patrons were all fine with the service dog. On older couple were even petting her and asking questions about here. The owner came out and said that she needed to be under the table and complained that she was unsanitary. No one wants to eat food where they are not welcomed so we left immediately. I think I've been here before many years ago. We drove past Frazier Park yesterday and stopped by here to get food. It's a great place to have breakfast or lunch. Staff was super nice and helpful.
