I could write my entire review on just the macaroni and cheese. I've eaten my fair share of mac and cheese in my life, and this was the hands downs the best I've ever experienced. I've eaten macaroni and cheeses at restaurants that had fancy toppings and truffle... Yet, this one knocked all those out of the park. This macaroni and cheese was perfectly seasoned, cheesy, lightly browned on top and savory. The barbecue pizza was top notch as well, every bite was an explosion of deliciousness. I also appreciated how they had fun questions on their napkin disorders. Service was amazing, the lady running the show was so kind and graceful. They have a lot of indoor seating and outdoor seating, they even have the "cave" where you can watch the game. They have clean restrooms and great vibes. Looking forward to returning!

Came here again and the quality of pizza is very good! Such interesting options for type of pizza which I have not seen before at any pizza place! Great service the guy at the register is always super nice! Inside has a good amount of tables it was freezing though haha, luckily they have hot coffee. Definitely get's busier during lunch time. Overall can't wait to come back and try more!

    Baked Potato Pizza

I was stuck out on the road yesterday evening and the owner of Caveman Pizza delivered two pizzas to our location. He delivered a pepperoni pizza, along with their delicious Baked Potato pizza. The Baked Potato pizza probably has to be one of the better pizzas I have ever had. I believe I have a spot on pizza recipe and this one matches that almost to a tee. It was absolutely divine, when it comes to a specialty pizza. I will definitely be making a trip up to Frazier Park, just to try out this pizza place, in person. With a little red chili flake, to go along with the sour cream, is a perfect combo. You just have to give it a try. There are a lot of specialty pizza places near Bakersfield and I would put Caveman Pizza, in Frazier Park, as one of those type of pizzas you are willing to make the drive for. Thank you again for the pizza!

Very good service! I got a Caesar salad with no chicken. The dark brown haired girl working was very nice. I would definitely recommend it anyone!

Food: I had the medium size Combination Pizza and Caveman fries. My partner is a meat lover. The combination had bacon, salami, pepperoni and sausage and other toppings that definitely satisfied his cravings. Ingredients were fresh, the crust was crispy and overall perfectly baked. We liked it. The fries were covered in batter. Not the common kind, we loved it! I would come back to try the loaded baked potato pizza. Service: Good and friendly Ambiance: Old school laid back vibe. *Dogs are allowed outdoor.

Walking into this establishment I found it very busy but orangized. The lady who served us at the register she is a tall Caucasian older lady with dirty blonde hair, petite, and short hair. She was very nice. Works hard and quickly. Although she was busy she put in two pizza orders instead of one. She was too busy, when we ordered. My uncle had ordered 1 pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms. Instead at our table we were served with 1 pepperoni pizza and 1 pepperoni and mushroom pizza. The lady was too busy and must've ordered it wrong on her POS. But it's fine. Overall we enjoyed the pizza and the service. This place was great. Would def come back if I'm going back to fraizer park.

She asked my son who doesn't call me a but the biggest offense- she didn't call me either to admit there was a mistake. I'm staying in a motel I don't have an oven. Why would I add cold pepponi and really large pieces of ham on top of a warm pizza? There was no sauce or cheese ? Was I suppose to put meat not oven baked on top? And the onions- I asked for 1/2 onions - this pizza had them in a think layer- And they were white onions -not pizza onions. So I sit hungry knowing it will take another hour before another pizza arrives - wonder won't be added the the replacement. this is just a cluster of bad service, not owning up to a huge mistake - I should have been called- not hide behind a child.

We get there, and asked if we have a reservation...uh oh....it was Valentines Weekend, but they did find a table for us. Then we get a waiter who I believe was the busboy to help out and we are told right off the bat that the tempura cauliflower AND the cordon bleu were sold out. Well, damn... this is not a good start. I took a look at the menu and I saw a portobello mushroom appetizer that sounded interesting so, we started with that. We then got some garlic bread to munch on while waiting for the appetizer and it was really good. The portobello mushroom sliced, fried, and served with marinara sauce. I have found mushroom appetizers usually very underwhelming and I wasn't expecting anything extraordinary here, but this appetizer was delicious. The mushroom was prepared perfectly and paired so damn good with the marinara. I forgot all about the sold out cauliflower! Since the cordon bleu was off the menu, I saw my good ol' standby, eggplant parmesan on the menu. At $25, I thought it was a bit pricey considering it didn't come with pasta, but I thought, what the hell. I'll give it a go. My wife ordered the Beef bourguignon with rice. They bring our plates to the table, and my jaw literally dropped at the size of the portions. HUGE. The eggplant parmesan looked more like a lasagna and it was topped with cheese and marinara. Cutting to the chase, it was delicious, impossible to finish, and the eggplant was tender and breaded just right. That portion of eggplant became 3 more meals for me, and I can eat a lot. Worth every penny of that $25. The beef bourguignon was also delicious and the portion was very large as well. We wished we got it with the pasta instead of the rice, though. The leftovers her meal also provided a couple more meals, and the flavor holds up to reheating. I am going to be coming back to this place to sample more of the menu, because if what we had on our first visit is any indication, I will be getting a great meal no matter what is ordered. The service is a little slow, but everyone was very pleasant and seemed truly happy their food was enjoyed.

Graziella and her brother have created such a special dining experience. My favorite dish has always been the pistachio sauce ravioli. I didn't see it on the menu and mentioned how much I loved it, and Graziella was kind enough to make it for me anyway, explaining that it's now part of their rotating menu. That level of hospitality is rare and so appreciated. I usually never order ravioli as a main course anywhere else, but this dish is absolutely incredible and unlike any ravioli I've had. I was on a double date and convinced my friend to order the same dish because I couldn't stop talking about it. She absolutely loved it and understood immediately why it's my favorite. My fiancé and his cousin both ordered the lamb chops and couldn't stop raving about them. My fiancé substituted the seasonal vegetables for the arugula salad. He normally doesn't eat salad, but he finished the entire thing and said it was one of the best salads he's ever had. The dressing was amazing, and after trying it myself, I completely agreed. My fiancé's cousin, who I consider like a brother, was trying lamb chops for the first time and said he felt like he'd been missing out his whole life. I also ordered the Prickly Pear Margarita from the rotating cocktail menu and enjoyed it so much that I ordered a second one. The food was outstanding, but the atmosphere deserves recognition too. The patio is beautiful, romantic, and has such a relaxing ambiance. It was the perfect setting for a double date. After being away for a few years, I'm so glad I came back. The food, service, and hospitality were just as wonderful as I remembered. Piccola Trattoria remains one of my favorite restaurants, and I can't wait to return again soon.

My only criticism is the pizza. Between the sourdough crust and the tomato sauce, which is also quite acidic, the entire pizza ends up tasting a little too sour and acidic. I think if they balanced both with just a touch more sweetness, while still keeping that nice sourdough tang, their pizzas could be phenomenal. I especially wish they would consider adjusting it because pizza is really the only thing my child will eat when we come here, and unfortunately the acidity makes it difficult for him to enjoy it. Other than that, everything else we've tried has been amazing. The pasta is incredibly fresh and delicious, and you can really tell that a lot of care goes into the food.

Living in a mountain community, many of us would love to have a local pizza spot we're excited to support regularly. Unfortunately, the pizza here feels very generic and lacks the care, flavor, and craftsmanship that make a pizza memorable. The sauce is bland, the crust lacks character, and the overall experience feels more like a frozen grocery store pizza than something made fresh in a restaurant. What disappoints me most is that pizza doesn't have to be complicated. Great pizza comes from quality ingredients, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for the craft. Right now, it feels like the pizza is being made to fill an order rather than to create something people crave and come back for. This community deserves a pizza place that takes pride in its product. With more focus on flavor, better ingredients, and a little more love in the kitchen, I truly believe this restaurant could become a local favorite. I hope this review is taken in the spirit it's intended: not as criticism for criticism's sake, but as encouragement to raise the bar and create pizza that reflects the pride and character of our mountain town.

The calamari is highly recommended. It was fresh, lightly fried, and paired well with the sauce. The Mezzelune di Crostecei was amazing. The ravioli was perfectly cooked and the juices from the shrimp and scallop made it a perfect bite. The only disappointment was the Tortelloni di Brasato. The herb cream sauce was delicious and the pasta was perfectly cooked. However, the short rib filling was akin to a beef puree and several of the tortellonis had very little filling.
