It's a cute little Mexican restaurant on I-5, I stopped by on my way back to the Bay Area from Los Angeles. It's not fancy but it's cozy. We were hungry for lunch and the restaurant didn't disappoint. We had shrimp fajitas, chicken tacos and my kid had a kids cheese quesadilla. Everything was well seasoned and the server Zinia was very attentive and pleasant to talk to. She also gave me fresh salsa with my tacos. We got two burritos to go: carne asada$13 and breakfast $13 one with ham. The burritos are definitely on smaller side. The carne burrito tasted very acidic/sour with a lot of tomatoes in it. A bit too watery inside too. Very nice and patient server to take my order on the phone though. read more

Unfortunately, after giving this place another chance, I don't think we'll be coming back. The last time we ate here, I found a glass shard in my food. The staff was apologetic ended up comping our drinks, and because of how well they handled it, we were willing to come back. Today, however, there was lipstick on the rim of my piña colada. I asked a waitress if I could have another one made because there was lipstick on the glass. She didn't apologize or seem particularly concerned, but said okay and took it back. The owner ended up bringing the replacement drink and did apologize, which I appreciated. We also ordered wings that never came. By the time we were halfway through the rest of our meal, we just asked to cancel them. I understand that mistakes happen, and I'm usually pretty understanding, but having a glass shard in my food on one visit and then receiving a glass with someone else's lipstick on it the next time raises some serious cleanliness and safety concerns for me. Considering everything that happened during this visit, I was also surprised that the drinks weren't comped. The staff wasn't rude, and I appreciate that the owner apologized, but unfortunately, after two experiences like this, we won't be returning. read more

Salsa was good, guacamole was decent. Dinner was okay. Queso was horrendous. Tasted like burnt melted shredded cheese. I'm actually almost positive that's what they did bc the sever didn't know what queso was. They wouldn't take it off my bill. The server was nice but the manager was not. I was looking for some Mexican food that actually had some spice to it. This hit the spot. I asked for suggestions from the seating host and he directed me towards what I was craving with confidence which can sometimes backfire but did not this time. The quesadilla de Diablo was spicy and delicious. Shrimp cooked just right nit over done or rubbery. There was a nice smoky flavor as well. Bathrooms were decently clean nothing fancy. Last but definitely not least. Im always on the lookout for a decent salsa and this place did not disappoint. Don't skip it. Yes it has a kick. We stopped to charge at the nearby DCFC, on our way to San Dimas. It was excellent ! The servers were friendly and helpful. The food was amazing and flavorful. My teen ordered and got halfway through her meal before realizing she'd ordered something different from what she intended, and it was so good she was happy with the order. The portions were generous. I would likely have had leftovers except that the food was so tasty. I suggest getting the Jamaica drink. It was sweet and refreshing. Perfect on a hot day. read more

This restaurant was a pleasant surprise! We stopped for gas on our i-5N journey and were looking for options that were not fast food. We got seated very quickly. The ambiance is actually quite cute - oldish, small town vibes with a Hispanic spin. They had Hispanic music to tie in the vibes. The server was very nice and responsive. Their menu is quite extensive with all day breakfast, apps, entrees and some interesting sides. We ordered the chicken quesadilla and the huevos con chorizo as well as a glass of Horchata. The food came quickly and it was freshly made. There was a lack of the heat element but we made do with the hot sauce. The plates were quite big and filling. The quesadilla was good outside of the needing more heat. The guac was VERY good! The huevos con chorizo was also very good except for lack of spice. The beans and rice were excellent and made for a good, filling plate. The Horchata was definitely one of the best I've had in a while. Pricing wise, it is slightly on the higher side for Mexican restaurants but I guess that is expected for a restaurant that is not fast food on the interstate. If you are looking for good food on your journey on I-5, I highly recommend stopping here. They are open from 12 am to 9 pm daily! read more

We stopped here for lunch on our way up to the Central Valley. The food is good authentic Mexican cuisine. However, the restaurant itself is a bit run down, tired, old and dirty. It's a fairly small restaurant with several booths and a few tables. Our to go order was ready in 10-15 minutes from when we called it in on a Friday evening. We noticed several others also coming out with to-go. The food was great! I LOVED the combo, taco & enchilada, I ordered. The enchilada was smothered in green sauce and everything was flavorful with crisp lettuce on my shredded beef taco. My hubs got the Burrito Mexicano and when I read it off the menu, neglected to see the "spicy" mention in the salsa. It was a bit too hot for him, so he didn't love it but that was on us, not them! On the way to Southern CA, we saw this place while looking for a gas station. Stopped in, and we should've walked out the moment we were ignored by the host/waiter at the front. We weren't welcomed by a greeting, asked to wait to be helped or thanked for our patience after the wait. We sat for about 10 minutes, before an older man (appeared to be the owner), came by to ask if I was waiting for someone. My husband had walked away to use the facilities. I immediately informed him that I was waiting and ready to order. He walked away and came back to take my order. I placed the order, when the chips and salsa came, they neglected to bring any napkins. We placed the order for an appetizer platter since we weren't very hungry. The appetizer platter finally came and I wasn't impressed. The chicken taquitos (just like the chips) tasted more like burnt oil than anything. I would NOT recommend this place. Nice place to eat while traveling a frequent route for us and charging our car (near the nearby Jack-in-the-Box). Decor is outdated and food is basic, but with a good variety and ample portions. The enchiladas de camaron (pictured) - actually one large enchilada - was generously stuffed with shrimp and artificial crab in a mild red sauce. Staff is friendly and attentive. And my husband is happy that they carry Modelo Negra beer. They charged $2.95 for chips and salsa on this visit, which hadn't happened previously. Nice stop on the road in Frazier Park. Quaint place with simple sweet decor. Menu dedicated to a missed family member . Welcoming service and conversation from who I believe was the owner. Guacamole was fresh with nice big pieces of avocado. Chips crisp and tasty, salsa bright and flavorful. The portion of the trio fajitas was outstanding. Grilled to perfection on the veggies, chicken, steak and shrimp. Hubby loved it all, and he is usually anti shrimp at Mexican restaurants. Accompanying tortillas were very good. On our way to Burning Man, and made a pit stop for lunch and gas. I love me a cute whole in the wall resturant and this place has that home-ie feel. The family that runs the place is so kind and makes you feel like they have been waiting for you this whole time just to feed you. You absolutely have to order the chips, salsa, and guacamole.
