We tried a few different bites, and everything was exactly what you want from a spot like this -- flavorful, fresh, and satisfying every single time. Food: The food is really the main attraction here. Nothing overly fancy or trying too hard, just consistently good food that delivers every time. Everything we tried was solid, and it's the kind of place where you already know you're leaving happy before you even order. Service: Service was smooth with no issues at all. The staff kept things moving, and the experience was easy from start to finish. Ambiance: Billy's has that classic Louisiana stop-through feel to it. Nothing extravagant, but it doesn't need to be. The food speaks for itself. Overall: Not much to rave about besides the food -- and honestly, that's all it needs. Billy's is officially one of my can't-miss stops anytime I'm driving through Lafayette. I'm never passing this place up.

I was super excited for this place because I haven't had boudin in so long. I got cracklins,…read moreBilly's Boudin and the smoked boudin. The cracklins had a little bit of fat and meat on them which I wasn't used to. I'm just used to the fried crispy skin. It tasted more like fried/seasoned pork belly. The seasoning is really good though. My favorite boudin was Billy's more than the smoked one but my fiance liked the smoked flavor more. I wish we took pics but we just ate it in the car. The casing was a little tough to bite through so I sliced it and scooped out the insides. Although the Billy's boudin is good, I don't know if it was good enough to drive from Texas for it. I need to search for more places while I'm here.

Ca c'est bon!!! I've been here twice, once while driving through and such a great experience, I…read morecame here again while staying in Lafayette. It was just as delicious as the first time! We had chicken and sausage gumbo, Pepper Jack boudin balls, bam bam gator bites and the blackened chicken pasta. The waiter this time was better than the waitress we had last time. He was very attentive and made sure we never had to ask for refills. The appetizers came out fairly normal time-wise I would say. The main portion took a little bit longer than what you're used to at a franchise restaurant but here that's perfectly fine as it's worth the couple extra minutes. The gumbo is perfect(I love when gumbo is not over complicated) I like to add a lil hot sauce to it and it's delicious... only thing is, while they already give generous portions... the cup and the bowl looked exactly the same except I think in the bowl they give you one extra scoop of rice... which would be just fine if it wasn't like $6 more. But still delicious nonetheless. The bam bam gator bites were really good and I highly recommend them. If you like bam bam shrimp you'll love these. The pepper jack boudin balls were good, nothing special but they were definitely worth the try. My co-worker had the blackened chicken pasta and when I asked him how it was he said "dude, it's really good!" lol. The building is pretty unique and they have some outside seating with a massive beautiful tree that over looks the restaurant and takes claim to some of the asphalt in the parking lot lol. But it's a great spot for birthdays, good lunch menu deals, casual date night or if you wanna blow some steam off, they have a little bar in the restaurant as well. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend. I'm from East Texas, so I'm no Cajun/Louisianan but they truly got some good grub here. I'll definitely be coming back several more times when I get the chances. I will warn you, I believe the food is freshly made so when it gets to the table, give it some time to cool off because it comes out HOT.

I was looking for a lunch place to visit after touring the Tabasco Factory. Cafe Jefferson was…read moreabout 20 minutes from the factory but from the Yelp rating I figured it was worth the drive. And it was! When you drive in the entrance of the Rip Van Winkle Gardens you're struck by how beautiful the scenery is and the immense trees. We loved seeing the peacocks that were free roaming. You enter through the gift store to go to the Cafe which is in back of the store. We were greeted and seated right away on the closed in porch of the restaurant. Our server was friendly and super helpful with our questions about the menu. I ordered the Seafood Heaven after asking which was her favorite between that and the Crab Meat Au Gratin. It came with a Caesar salad which needed a little more dressing but was good. The fresh baked rolls were warm, doughy goodness. My entree was delicious! Shrimp, crab meat, and crawfish on a bed of angel hair pasta topped with creamy basil sauce which was like a slightly spicy bisque. Dip the buttered bread in the sauce for a mouth watering experience! To boot the view over the lake and large tree was beautiful. I could see the tables in back with tree lights making for a romantic dinner.

Always great foods, nice ambience, beautiful gardens. Well…read moreworth the 30" from IH10 or 10" from US90.

Responding to Chelsa K.'s 1* review. As I am someone who was in the restaurant when it happened…read more I just think it's funny how you aren't mentioning y'all came in as 6 people and then wanted accommodations for 30 people during one of the busiest times of the night. Or that they argued with the amazing manager for nearly an hour total after being told they couldn't accommodate that size party. They're also leaving out the part where people from their group marched in and seated themselves, stood over occupied tables waiting for guests to leave, insisting the hosts clean the tables, and made the entire restaurant uncomfortable. This had nothing to do with race and everything to do with behavior. Any group acting like that would've gotten the exact same response. In short, do better. Y'all came in and ruined everyone's dinner because y'all don't know how to plan ahead. Stop blaming people for your mistakes and take accountability.

This restaurant is known for their crawfish unfortunately I visited for a weekday lunch and they…read morewere posting a sign on the doors after I had walked in stating they don't serve crawfish until 4pm weekdays, 3pm on weekends. This may have been part of the reason its wasn't all that busy on a Tuesday lunch. Similar to some other restaurants in Louisiana I've visited, they have a side with a bar, to-go area and high tops, and a more family oriented side of the restaurant with a bunch of low top tables. Fried pork rinds are served with every table. They have daily plate lunches and the one day I came it was chicken fried steak. However, it's not usually a good idea to order CFS outside of Texas in my experience. Therefore, I ended up ordering the catfish and shrimp platter, served grilled instead and added a $5 strawberry margarita. The entree comes with a side salad but they only have seelct dressings and none which I would typically order, so i just settled on honey mustard. Margarita- for only $5 it's not bad and comes with either sugar or salt rim Catfish and shrimp platter - seasoned with a blackened seasoning but it wasn't spicy. The catfish filet was small and tasted like it was previously frozen. The shrimp were also small and didn't taste much better. Not sure I'd return if ever in Lafayette, as I was really looking for a more festive environment and more grilled options.

While other restaurants in Abbeville…read morecome and go, the Park has stayed the same and keeps on serving up satisfying selections to locals and visitors alike. The Park has a big breakfast following. They do pancakes and omelettes in addition to their standard breakfast fare. If you get a chance you should certainly try their Sweet Potato Pancakes! A Southern speciality! I am usually in the Park for lunch, and they are excellent for a midday meal. It should be mentioned that if you want to eat breakfast for lunch, they will accommodate you till 2PM! If you want a more traditional lunch, they have a daily Plate Lunch that pairs a hearty entree with rice and two sides. They also have a great selection of sandwiches ranging from a simple BLT to loaded Po-Boys. There's also a Crab Patty Burger for something delicious and different! But that's not all! There's soups, salads, and seafood! There's also a Short Order section of the menu. For the health conscious, there's a selection of grilled seafood served with grilled broccoli! There's also dessert! Usually there's slices of three to four pies, and often bread pudding. This will be a great finish for a homestyle meal. It's a small historic building, that's not too fancy. In fact it is so historic that the restrooms are outside out back. However, this shouldn't deter the visitor looking for a good meal, as we all know that local hole-in-the-walls are worth visiting...
