Let me start out by saying, there's nothing inherently wrong with Big Jud's. Decent food, fun and relaxed ambiance, and friendly with pretty quick service. With that being said though, there's nothing that really makes Big Juds stand out either, especially for the price point. Two Burgers, a small fry basket, and a drink + tip was $35. For the sake of comparison, i could get two bacon burgers with unlimited toppings and a large fry + drink for $3 less at Five Guys, and i also get two burger patties instead of one. Five Guys tastes a bit better too, imo. Like i said though, Big Juds isn't bad by any means, just mediocre. There's just so many better burgers out there that it's hard to justify coming here in particular. read more

I ordered the Cheeseburger extra lettuce, extra tomatoes, no pickles, no onions. The waiter brings the burger to my table at 7:15 pm on a Saturday night and says they are out of tomato and they must have been out of Lettuce as well because I got light lettuce (the waiter should have told me that when I ordered extra tomatoes) The HYPE is not real - I live near Arco, Idaho and everyone in the office said Big Jud's is worth the drive (45 minutes)... The atmosphere is great - they get a 10 fries Get a 9 Shake (Huckleberry) 8 Burger - I did not want any of the many burger toppings they offer - I wanted the good a beefy hamburger. Very disappointed - I took the hamburger patty out of the bun just to try the meat - it was bland with no flavor at all except for one bite had lots of salt- it could have been ground cardboard... Burger gets a 2 You can get away with running a business like this out in the middle of nowhere but if this was in a major city and operated this way - people will go eat elsewhere. Excellent service, food was astonishingly delicious. Fries are to die for, fresh ingredients, at a fair price. Awesome hole in the wall restaurant. I am from South Louisiana, visiting up north. I was a little bit worried on how the food was going to taste considering all the seasonings that go into southern foods. This place blew my expectations out of the water. It was absolutely delicious! Now that I am back home, I am wishing we had a Big Jud's right down da bayou. Looks like I will have to make the 1,500 mile trip back up there to satisfy my craving! Crazy busy over the Memorial Day weekend. Staff was very friendly but had to run Aaron's to try and keep up. About a 40 minute wait for a table. Portions are HUGE. Prices are reasonable for what you get. Loved the Swiss and mushroom burger. Fries and tots were a bit bland but the fry sauce took care of that. This location longs like a dive from the outside but the inside was clean and well kept. Fun decor. Off the beaten path but worth a visit for a n new experience and a full belly. read more

Fantastic burgers and fries so fresh that it feels that they were just dug up, sliced and deep fried. Had a fabulous waitress that made me feel like I was a regular. While the restaurant is a little off the beaten path it is well worth the drive. If you are feeling up to proving how much you can eat you can attempt the Man vs Food challenge of either a 1 pound or 2 pound burger with fries and a soda. This place is definitely off the beaten path, but well worth the visit! The burgers and fries are simple yet absolutely delicious, but what truly stood out to me was the exceptional hospitality from the staff. I witnessed a moment that really showcased their attentiveness--a woman nearby had her child accidentally spill a shake, creating quite a mess. Instead of frustration, the staff responded with genuine kindness, quickly helping to clean up and reassuring the customer, who was clearly worried about the inconvenience. Their warmth and professionalism were beyond what I've experienced in some high-end restaurants. Great food and even better service--I'll definitely be back! This is an amazing place. When we lived I Idaho we would come here regularly now we come on the way to and on the way back from Yellowstone. We plan our trip so we can be here around lunch or dinner time. Personal story, years ago (maybe 25) we told our young children that we were going to stop and get a hamburger but we were low on money and we would only get one burger and share it. Since eating out was a treat, they were excited to eat out and never showed disappointment when we order ONE big Jud burger. My childhood nickname my dad gave me was the "French fry kid" and that name continues today. So when I eat tasty fries, m in heaven. You'd expect good fries in potato country and Jud's delivered. Skin slightly on, piping hot, perfectly salted fries. Paired with a zesty fry sauce! Burgers were equally as good. I don't love the buns, but the meat was juicy and tasty! Food was Very old school and very fattening. We did try the 1pound burger the tater tots fries and onion rings it was super slow took well over 45 min to get our food and it came cold and wr had to reorder everything and over 15 just to come to our table and and another 15 to bring us drinks. I took one bite of my burger it was so greasy I couldn't eat it. Next time I'll try a chicken sandwich. ;) my husband liked his mega burger my son started crying because his burger was cold and they had to recook it twice before it came out hot. read more

This place was a weird find. It seems like it's in the middle of nowhere. There is no chance you accidentally find this place. But if you do, woah. Their burgers taste delicious. Huckleberry shakes? Big Juds isnt just food its an experience. Tucked away in a little building in what feels like the middle if nowhere. Staff is awesome and friendly and the place is full of locals who know about this hidden gem. Although its not so hidden after appearing on man vs food. The shakes are wonderful with a big selection of unique flavors. A great selection of burgers and massive baskets of fries. My wife and I ordered the 1lb burger and shared it. More than enough food. The bun is fresh baked and the burger was nice and juicy. Prices were a bit high for the area but it feels worth it when you combine the food and the fun. read more

1000000% recommend! Just a hole in the wall middle of nowhere burger joint. We had a group of 12 people, and waited no longer than 30 minutes. Our burgers were all thick juicy and freshly made. THEY OFFER GLUTEN FREE BUNS! (So good I thought it was real bread) You have to order the fries and IRON PORT.. Iron port is a soda that can only be found in a few of the western states. Comparable to cherry coke, but much much better. I'm not a soda drinker, but I highly encourage you to try it to wash your meal down with. Our server was a delight, especially dealing with a big crowd, split orders, and lots of refills. What an amazing experience and unforgettable burger with great service. I got the mushroom burger, my boyfriend the 1 lb burger, and a few others got the Hawaiian or just a classic burger with cheese. I didn't realize that Jud's is not really located in Rexburg; however, it was worth the short drive southward. We arrived at the rather odd time of 2:00 pm for a late lunch and found the parking lot empty. We feared that they were closed; but just then the "Open" sign in the window lighted up. Whew! Lots of options on the menu -- my wife chose the Hawaiian Chicken sandwich, I got the Super Bacon Burger, and we shared a large Fresh Cut Fries. Everything was delicious! Our server Olivia was great! -- she helped us navigate the menu and answered our questions expertly. She also told us that there are other Jud's locations, including one close to our home in Meridian, ID. When I asked about the fries, she explained that the potatoes come from a farm only 2 miles away and that they are sliced fresh each morning when Jud's staff starts work. We could tell that the fries were freshly cooked for our order. Food was served timely, even though the grill likely had to be turned on upon our arrival. The hot grill was not wasted because 3 other groups arrived while we were eating. To sum up, it was an excellent experience! read more

We're camping at Heise Hot Springs for a couple of days. Took a day trip to Yellowstone Bear World and decided to stop in to Big Jud's for a late lunch on the way back. This little out of the way place in the middle of farm country was well worth the stop!! We enjoyed great burgers, fries, onion rings and milkshakes. Generous portions and very reasonable prices. Don't be fooled by the outside of the building. They have great burgers. Tater tots were good, but the fries came out a little overcooked, as did the mini corndogs my daughter ordered in her kids meal. Service was great and prices were reasonable. Be warned, this is about 10 minutes off the freeway to the outskirts of Rexburg. read more

The ingredients they use are pretty good. Good buns, fresh veggies and flavorful beef. It was decent Best part was the fried pickles. By far the best fried pickles I have ever had in my life. This is an interesting place in the middle of nowhere in Idaho. Very odd but they have made it work. To make up for the location, they provide fun food that attracts people from all over. If you want the best burger you will ever eat, then this is the place. I got the green chili burger and was the most amazing combination of flavors you can get on a burger. All the other burgers look great though and you can't go wrong. We also shared an order of fries, fried pickles, onion rings and sweet potato fries. All were great and good additions to the burger.
