I've been to Big Mama countless times and each and every time I go here, I have the best time with the best food. I always get their pho & banh mi (pork) and this time I tried their fresh spring rolls and it was quite thin. It was delicious, but I don't think I'd get that again because it wasn't amazing compared to other spring rolls I've had. On the other hand, their pho and banh mi are so delicious! I always get their large pho and the broth is so good. They always give cilantro on the side which is nice for people who don't like cilantro in their pho. I love finishing my meal with Vietnamese coffee. Most of the time their coffee tastes burnt but the most recent time I went (7/16/2026) it didn't taste burnt !!! so I'm hoping it stays this way because it was extra delicious this day! Another thing I want to note is how attentive and friendly the servers are. From all the times I ate here, I never had any problems with the servers. We were staying in Columbus overnight during our trip to Kentucky. We love Asian food and Vietnamese is a favorite. The pho was so delicious! The broth was the star and had deep delicious flavors. If you have never eaten here, you have to! The food is authentic and the service was great. I had the shrimp goi cuon, Hoanh Thanh and Suon Noung. The spring rolls were so fresh and tasty. They came with peanut sauce that was very flavorful. The Hoanh Thanh was fresh and soooo good! It had pork wontons, ground pork and veggies in a yummy broth. This was my first time trying pho, and even though I didn't know much about it and wasn't initially interested, I ended up really enjoying it! I've ordered it several times since -- I honestly don't even know everything I put in it, but it's so good, especially on rainy or cold days. Definitely a must. Food is decent, not spectacular. I was with a large party that ordered at the same time. Everyone got their food but me. Inquired about it several times but still did not get before most of the others had finished eating. I was told "don't make a deal about it" by a fellow guest or I would have said don't bother bringing. They did discount, but I didn't enjoy it at all; managed to shovel in about 1/4 before everyone ready to leave. I also think a bit overpriced for Asian food, especially considering the protein portions smaller than I see in equivalent dishes elsewhere. I don't care to eat there again. Ever. read more

THIS PLACE ALMOST KILLED ME WITH THEIR NEGLIGENCE. I usually don't write reviews and almost never write a negative one unless warranted. If I could give negative stars I would. A visit here cost us a trip to the ER and hospital. My husband and I love "hot pot" so we decided to give this place a try because it claimed on the menu that they serve it. While ordering, we advised our server that I had a fish allergy and to check to make sure the broth did not contain any fish products, especially things like fish sauce as that's often overlooked. Supposedly she checked with the kitchen and confirmed- no fish. We order chicken, meat and shrimp items for our hotpot. Again I reminded her no fish and to note on our order. After some time, our food comes out and we don't see the chicken. We ask our server about it and she goes to the back to check and comes back and says the chicken is in the broth. Weird. But since it's chicken and not cooked to order we think maybe they just do it differently here. We check the broth and there were these small meatballs in it. We ask our server what they are because we did not order meatballs. She goes to the back to check and comes back and says that's the chicken. Again, weird. But again since it's our first time there we think they just do things differently. I scoop out one of those meatballs onto a plate. I break off about 1/8 of it to sample it. Within seconds my mouth and throat are itching like crazy! It's not chicken, it's the type of reaction I have when I eat fish. As I'm taking a Benadryl my husband calls the manager over and asks what those balls are. Turns out they were fish balls! Manager checks our kitchen ticket and it says "no fish-allergy", talks to the server and claims we only asked our server to check for fish sauce?! At this point my throat is getting uncomfortable I'm starting to have a hard time breathing. My husband looks up the nearest hospital to decide if it was faster to drive or call an ambulance. Turns out we were 5 minutes from the North Columbus Piedmont so husband helps we up so we can leave. When the manger sees this, he tries to make us pay for the food! All we ate was that small bite I took. Everything else was untouched on our table, even our drinks. We told him he'll be lucky if we don't sue let alone pay for the food. When we get to the car, my husband has to administer my EpiPen and we head to the ER. Had to spend the whole night being monitored at the ER because of all the different medications I needed to take to reverse my allergic reaction. It's a shame that even after repeated requests to check for an allergen, the restaurant still failed. 3 times this server supposedly checked with the kitchen. Makes you wonder about how terrible their other controls are. read more

Had an early dinner here after a full day of house hunting. The restaurant looks like it recently opened. The place itself is big and most importantly, clean. We ordered the combination pho and spring rolls. I also ordered a banh mi sandwich to go for a late snack with the veggies on the side. The pho was surprisingly really good. The only con is that, for 15 dollars the portion is on the smaller side. There wasn't much meat or noodles. The spring roll was fresh and good. Totally sorry for failing to take pictures of our entrées. But when I tell you, I've had Pho from Washington State at multiple restaurants, in Atlanta from several, in Tennessee, and DC and not one of those place hold a candle to the deliciousness of Big Mama's! The restaurant was clean, it's absolutely HUGE, they were quite busy, but because of the size, we weren't sitting right up on other tables! The customer service was was superb! The portions were huge! We ordered two orders of Pho and an order of Combination Fried Rice......every thing was cooked to perfection! That rice had huge shrimp, roasted pork, chicken & surprisingly sausage, but it was full of meat and there was nothing lacking with the Pho either! We'll definitely be back! The rolls were small and the peanut sauce was tasteless. If I wasn't already almost home I would've returned it. Called and gave my feedback. I was eating a bland roll (usually is bland and just for texture) dipping into a bland sauce. I also ordered tofu in spicy tomato sauce extra spicy 3/5 was not spicy and lacked some flavor still. I'm not sure if it's just the recipes here that I'm not liking or something else ? I think for COLUMBUS Georgia it's okay because there is not much competition in regards to Vietnamese and most people here are not familiar with how Vietnamese food taste. Crispy with meat and fresh vegetables what more could you ask for. My guess had (B3) bowl of fried pork, rice noodles and fresh vegetables.
