it is very hard to find good Chinese food in Columbus, Georgia. Most of them are on the south side of town. This one is decent. The food is good. It's always hot and fresh. The ambience is just OK. I take order my food to go. The service is quick and friendly. A 3 1/2. Star, I guess. But I'll give it a four. I'm happy with them. The eggrolls are not so good. But everything is good enough, or quick easy meal. And I'm pretty picky. But it's so hard to find a Chinese food in Columbus and that's a fact! read more

Ordered delivery for the first time today. They do not have an app, you have to call to order. I ordered Crab Rangoon, Sesame Chicken, Orange Flavored Chicken and Roasted Pork with Chinese vegetables. They all tasted good and came with one rice container for each dish. Sesame chicken and orange chicken have similar texture. I think next time I will go with Sesame chicken and maybe beef and broccoli. Hope they get an app soon! So, the wife wanted to try some new Chinese take out; from the choices this place looked promising...Again, LOOKed like it did. I'm a big fan of Chinese cuisine and it's traditional dishes and taste. So, I went thru the basic orders I always order; steamed dumplings, beef broccoli, egg drop soup, sweet & sour soup, shrimp fried rice, and Hunan beef. I also ordered their wings to try bc I've only found two good areas here in Columbus who don't bread their chicken so much. Too be plain and simple, I was displeased. Everything was watered down to taste Americanized. Only thing I found decent to finish were the Shrimp Fried Rice (not fully fried and cooked, still had whiten rice, but was packed with Shrimp) and the Beef & Broccoli (broccoli was still crunchy but not soggy and beef tasteful). I've never experience Sweet and Sour soup to have chicken??? That confused me, the dumplings were so breaded and wasn't expecting a sweet marinated meat as it's internal attraction...I'll end this with not ordering frm this place anytime in the future unless It's my last resort. read more

This place delivers to Fort Benning, and has the better tasting food than the other Chinese places we tried that deliver. We have had most of the chicken dishes, soups, and some of the shrimp dishes. Everything has been pretty fresh and not drowning in sauce. I didn't like the soups as much, but the mei fun and the lo mein combos are good. The general tso's chicken is meaty and doesnt have too many of those random "fried dough" pieces. Overall, a good experience every time. read more

First impression is everything and I should have cancelled my order when I walked in to their establishment to pick up my food. Disgusting ~ filthy floor, raw food open in bins located behind the counter. Egg rolls smelled of rotten food when I bit into it. My General GSO Chicken wasn't hot because of all the thick, sweet caramelized junk , not to mention the overwhelming breaded bread because I couldn't locate hardly any chicken. This is a great place for the takeout or delivery consumer! A small Chinese restaurant with limited seating that cooks a very delicious Chinese dish. I got the King Po Chicken for my first visit and made it a combo. The combo comes with an eggroll and fried rice or white rice if you choose. They have bottle drinks in the fridge for sale and no fountain drink. The cashier was very friendly. Will be back for more. read more

Truly god awful. Delivery took more than an hour and a half after being quoted 30 minutes. We had to call and check if they forgot about our order. When the food (if you want to call it that) arrived, it was cold and smelled foul. We were able to stomach about 1 bite of everything before finally just cutting our losses and throwing it all out. I used to love this Chinese place. My husband and I were actually weekly customers, and delivered for them from time to time. Today, for the first time ever they made a simple mistake where we received fried rice instead of white rice with one of the lunch combos. My fiancé calls them back just to see how we can fix our order, and the owner immediately started cursing at my husband on the phone; claiming he never asked for that - although this is a weekly order that they've NEVER messed up before, and we have been customers for years. I called the restaurant to speak with them myself because I just couldn't believe that was his reaction. I thought maybe he was just having a bad day at first, but to my surprise, he informed me personally that "China Star doesn't like delivering to you 'black people' anyway, and we hate delivering to your side of town because it's so dangerous, and you people live there. So no you're not getting a refund, I don't care! I'm the owner, and we don't care if you never order from here again. That's perfectly fine." Did delivery and I'm so happy we did! They deliver on post! The food was delicious and hot. It did take an hour but that's to be expected. I ordered the Singapore Chow Mein Fun and I loved it! I love the rice noodles and that this dish comes with pork and beef strips. I'm not a huge fan of the shrimp only because I'm scared it's not fresh.
