The lot was full, and the line stretched past the front patio and onto the sidewalk. We ended up parking a couple of blocks away and walking over. Despite the long line, it moved at a reasonable pace. One thing that helped was being able to grab drinks from the bar while we waited. They have a great selection of beers and seltzers, and it looked like a lot of people were picking up to-go orders as well. For our meal, we ordered the 4-6 person platter, which included beef cheek, tri-tip, ribs, sausage, chicken, pulled pork, six sides, cornbread, rolls, and pickles. We also added the 5-cheese mac and cheese. Everything was flavorful and there was more than enough food for our group. The sides were excellent. We tried the pit beans, pee wee potato salad, carne con chile, farro salad, and wild rice salad. My favorite was the warm potato salad with mustard, brown butter, capers, and dill...it was unique and absolutely delicious. The restaurant offers lots of seating with outdoor dining areas both in the front and back. They also have a private room with windows overlooking the main dining room. During our visit, it was hosting a private party of about 20 people. The kids loved their root beer floats, and by the end of the meal we were way too full to even consider dessert. That's definitely something we'll have to come back and try next time. Overall, the food was worth the wait, the atmosphere was lively, the world cup was playing on the tvs and even on one of the busiest days of the year the staff kept things moving smoothly. We'll definitely be back.

My husband, our friend Brian, and I came in to celebrate my husband hitting his 1000th account, and it was the perfect choice. From the second you walk in, you get that warm, cozy, family-run mom and pop energy. It doesn't feel corporate at all. While the ambiance is wonderful, this review is really about the bold and rich flavors of EVERY item we ordered and shared. Every single bite I took, I literally closed my eyes in complete ecstasy. Every taste made me smile and say "wow" right after. The food prepared by their cook, George, is unbelievable. I was floored by the next-level tenderness of the meats. The brisket was so tender that it literally melted the second I tried grabbing some with my fork. The ribs were perfectly moist, and the pulled pork was delicious. A huge standout for us was the side of sweet potato fries. They were perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and absolutely AMAZING. Pair those with their creamy, al dente mac & cheese and some cornbread. Also, you HAVE to try their sauces. Their Mango BBQ sauce absolutely slapped! So tasty. Combined with their Korean BBQ and mustard sauces, the flavor profile of everything goes to a whole new level. While the food is legendary, the absolute highlight of our celebration was Vickie, the owner. A high honorable mention goes to her because it was entirely because of Vickie that we had such a spectacular time. Her incredible energy, passion, and attentiveness completely transformed our celebratory meal into a true EXPERIENCE. She made us feel like guests at a friend's house. Big shoutout also to Briseida, the hostess, who welcomed us so warmly at the door. This tiny neighborhood gem is officially my new go-to BBQ fix in OC. Incredible food, phenomenal people, and unbeatable vibes. Support this amazing local spot, you'll leave with a full stomach and a happy heart.

Out of all them... the sausage was hands down the best item. Brisket was blah, ribs so so. Chicken decent. But the sausage stole the flavor pallet. The staff was great, they are the ones who suggested items which I fully trusted. When they suggested the Korean bbq sauce and the mustard sauce.. that greatly increased the flavors of everything!

What in the name of all things great and small has happened to Lucille's?…read more We hadn't been in several years and recently came here. We'd been to Lucille's probably half a dozen times over the years. Was always a solid joint that had decent bbq along with some southern style staples. Not sure what happened, but here are some highlights. Daughter got the southern fried chicken. Her chicken breast looked like Col. Kilgore from Apocalypse Now called in a napalm strike on it. It did not survive. Whomever was manning the deep fryer was obviously derelict in their duty. They may fallen asleep as my daughter's chicken went through the nine levels of Hell. We brought this to the attention of a lady who identified herself as a manager-in-training. Only because we couldn't find our waitress. After waiting for probably 20 minutes, we also notified our waitress, whom we finally located. She said she would check. Finally, a non-burnt to a crisp chicken breast came out. Our waitress apologized, saying, "We're really busy right now." Ok, I get it. But, that's the absolute last thing you wanna say to a customer. If this were Family Feud and the top five answers to, "Things wait staff should never say to a customer" were on the board - number one answer and not even close. My jambalaya was ok, but needed some heat. When I asked for hot sauce and further inquired about what kind of hot sauces they had, I was presented with Tabasco. Any self respecting "Southern" joint should have all kinds of said sauces. Maybe it's me. Overall, all of our food looked like it had sat under a warming lamp for a time. You know, the coagulated gravy, the heat lamp crusty exteriors. Even the famous biscuits were subpar. A little stiff. Not like we remembered them. Service was nice, but sparse. Never asked if drink refills were wanted. Too few check ins. The topper was our table. Either the chairs were just slightly too high or the table top was just a smidge too short. Awkward. Plus, it looked like a circa 1973 fold out table that only came out during Aunt Lucille's bridge games. The good part - our son's brisket was pretty good. Wifey's chicken survived the surface of the Sun death fry and was decent. Not sure if we'd give it another go.

We ordered the trio appetizer for starters and both got Modela Negra beers since it was happy hour. The appetizer was fantastic. Loved the deep fried pickles and the burnt ends. The guacamole for the chips was great. This is a large appetizer so plan accordingly. For our main course my wife ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of bacon Brussel sprouts. She really enjoyed this. I ordered the 3 meat combo with pulled pork, ribs and brisket with two sides. Mac & cheese and bacon Brussel sprouts. It was delicious. I couldn't finish my meal because of the large appetizer we got. The service was quick and friendly and the restaurant was very clean. I would recommend this for anyone looking for good BBQ and beer.

We'll definitely be coming back!
