Basically a Mexican Long John Silver's. Quality fried fish, shrimp, and chicken at affordable prices. I got the shrimp and fish and chips combo. The fish and the batter were very light, although they definitely needed salt. I wouldn't get the shrimp again as it was slightly overcooked and didn't wow me. I also got a side of deep fried mushrooms. They were so juicy and flavorful.

This place was a 5 stars for me 2 days ago when i visited the first time but today i had whole different experience, first of all i was charged 50 cents more for the same exact order but this time the girl on register asked me to sign a tip receipt which wasn't there last time, anyways i tipped as i normally do but i didn't even get the food to my table, like why asking people to tip if you're not gonna provide any sort of service??!! anyways this was my last time in this place and I would never come back

Poor excuse for a large soda. Maybe a small at best

Well food was good the onion rings were pretty bad. So always makes me unhappy is a place that nickels dimes you. 3 bucks for what they call a large soda. Then after spending 23 bucks he wants to charge me a dollar for my refills. No thanks I just won't be back ever. For 3 cents worth of soda I hope Captain Mikes runs a ground.

Don't waste your time or Money. Although parking and service was good. The food had no taste, it was purely cheap bland whatever fish. The breading was ok, and the fries too. But the fish which based on the name suggest a great place. Well I believe the effort in the kitchen was mediocre and it felt as if I got a bag put together crap from people that don't care about your tastebuds. Due to covid, eating outside or in the parking lot is a norm now. But they shove your food in a paper bag, but yet they allow 2 people eat inside their establishment right there in front near the cashier. So they broke local rules and law. They serve tasteless fish, but they got good parking.

    Fish and chips! Worst ever!

Worst fish and chips I ever had!!! Ordered to go and when I got home this is what I paid for over $10 plus $2 tips! No flavor and batter taste like old frying oil that was used many times! Please go to Hook and Anchor and you will get a good plate of fish and chips for $9 and good service too! I will never go back to this place ever again! What a waste of time and money!!!

"O Captain (Mike)! my Captain (Mike)! our fearful trip is done, The ship has weather'd every rack, the prize we sought is won..." Tonight, that "prize" was the 3 piece fish and chips for $8. The batter was divine - golden and crispy - the perfect consistency. It was on par with the best of the best. It's located in a strip mall - no frills. You can get rice and beans instead of fries. $4 beers. Until my next visit, bon voyage. "The ship is anchor'd safe and sound, its voyage closed and done, From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won..."

Best Fish in town! The chicken is great if you're in the mood for it too. The prices are very fair too. Nice decore.

Came here for lunch on a Friday around 1:30pm. I had never been to this plaza by the airport before…read moreand was a little worried about parking based on other reviews, but there were plenty of open spots when I arrived. The storefront is almost hidden on the right side of the food hall and can be easy to miss if you're not looking for it. There was no wait, and I was able to order right away. They gave me a beeper, and I was able to find a nearby table without any trouble. I ordered the Fish N Chips, which was a generous portion. It came with two large pieces of fish that were nicely fried. The batter wasn't too thick, and the fish itself was tender rather than overly flaky or hard. The texture and overall quality were good, but it was a bit lacking in flavor, even with malt vinegar and tartar sauce. The steak fries were crispy and not overly salty, which I enjoyed. Overall, the meal was average. With limited fish and chip options nearby, it's still a decent choice if you're in the area and craving it.

Hits the spot!!!…read more This was one of my Mother's last meals before she passed away and I'm so happy that she enjoyed this lovely place. I even went back months later for myself. We don't really have fish fry spots in Irvine besides California fish grill or OC fish grill(they pissed me off the first last visit so that's a different story.) Anyway, I love to support mom and pop over corporate eats any day. The service is good and the menu is straight forward. Great portions and super fresh eats. I honestly don't have any complaints. I'm not an English fried fish connoisseur so I can't compare but this meal hits and its solid! I'll definitely be back and please support your local small business:)

The lattes were excellent too--everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and definitely worth the visit. That said, we came on a Sunday in the late morning, and it was very busy. We waited in line for quite a while before ordering, and since seating is limited, we also had to wait for a table to open up and quickly grab it when one became available. Parking is limited as well, and street parking can be hard to find during peak times. One thing that could make the experience even better would be having separate lines for to-go orders and dine-in guests, especially on busy weekends. Overall, the food and drinks were so good that I'd absolutely come back--I would just try visiting at a different time or on a weekday to avoid the crowds.

My coworkers and I got together for the summer and one of them suggested this place. It sounded…read moreintriguing so we agreed to go. There are a few things to consider when coming here. Parking. There is a parking lot, but it is tiny and seems like it's always full. Plan on street parking in the vicinity. They are busy (long line out the door) and there are limited seating. You wait in line to order first and the area leading to the counter is tight so people do a u-turn to get back out the way they went in. It was also very muggy this afternoon and they only had a fan running inside so I was sweating so much. It was not a pleasant experience. There's a small bar area to the right and a few tables that are oddly placed behind the nook of the doors. It's got a cute country meets beach city vibe and the decorations inside reflect that. There is more seating outside, but like I said, it's kind of limited. We luckily got a table after about 4-5 minutes, but we were kind of standing near the trash can for a bit trying to figure out what to do. It's a very tiny space/lot and with how popular it is, it's too cramped for me. With all the cyclospora stuff going on, I'm very hesitant to eat out lately and if I do, I stick to all the fried foods. I ended up getting their popular Hawaiian Cowboy Latte (iced) which was good, but the walnut milk was unexpectedly thick/decadent. I normally drink my coffee black or I do cold brew, but it has honey too so it was sweeter. I think it was too much milk for my liking. If I went back, I'd prob try their affogato. That sounded good too. I also ordered the campfire french toast. It was good. In hindsight, the coffee plus the sweet french toast was too much sweet in one sitting. It was still good and I finished it. My other coworkers got an avocado toast and the trojan horse bowl. Those looked good too and they enjoyed it. Overall, it was good and the ambience is nice, but it's overpriced for what it was. The parking and lack of seating is definitely a turn off for me. If there was more room it would be cool, but the layout was not what I had anticipated. It looked bigger in the photos other people had posted. The staff is friendly so that was nice. I'm glad I went and tried it out though.
