We had an appointment in town and squeezed in a wine tasting beforehand. So glad that we tried Big Nose! Parking was a breeze. There is street parking and a little lot across the street that had tons. The tasting room itself was really cute and full of memorabilia. It's attached to a little hotel with a backyard area where you could take your wine or come back from one of their musical events. Seems like a perfect place to drink some wine under the stars. Also has a nice bathroom, which is sometimes hard to find while wine tasting! The wine itself was well worth the tasting price! Service was great. We were very well attended to without feeling smothered. Ended up taking a bottle of the Merlot and Cab home with us! And everything was wrapped so well. They honestly use the cutest tissue paper that I've ever seen. Perfect for gift giving. We'll definitely be back if we're in the area!

KID-FRIENDLY AND DOG-FRIENDLY! In Old Town Temecula! Roger was the best. And the place is so charming and relaxing. Can't wait to go back next time we are in the area.

All the wine was amazing. Roger who I believe is the owner was phenomenal and extremely friendly. I didn't have a bad pour of wine. The winery was amazingly set up and the decor was very old town. 10/10 recommend giving them a try. You won't be disappointed.

I just stepped back in time and discovered the Big Nose Winery tasting room, another Old Town Temecula gem which I didn't even know existed! Roger Mattar, his wife Janice and son Matthew operate Big Nose Winery in the historic Hotel Temecula, built in 1882 to lodge riders on the newly completed Southern California railroad. Located on Main Street in the heart of Old Town (across from Pennypickle's Workshop), the property is so much more than what appears from the street. The outdoor area has plenty of seating and it was the perfect day to be out there. Big Nose is family and pet-friendly. Janice was an amazing and gracious host to our lively group, providing us with lots of historical info in addition to serving us wine. She checked on us frequently as we enjoyed our wine, a charcuterie board and taking lots of pics/vids around the outdoor gardens. Right out of the Wild West and as a reminder of how much history there is to be found in Old Town, behold the iconic Emigrant Office, built by the US Border Patrol after WWII and used into the 1970s. From what I've read, agents were on the lookout for any illegal liquor being transported through here during Prohibition! We were treated to a tour by Janice of some of the back rooms including the Ladies Parlor and a room housing the Temecula Post Office from 1887-1915 and the switchboard which once "Served Temecula Day and Night"! I'd definitely recommend checking out this Old Town Temecula gem.

Rodger is AMAZING !!! Did a wine tasting for $25 I had a party of 6 and we had a great time Rodger explained all the wines to us and went the extra mile to get us some chocolate to pair with there desert wine. We left with two bottles and a couple of big nose wine glasses. Also the spot is just a whole vibe and the owners are too sweet!

Where do I begin? I guess I should begin with Roger and Janice who own Big Nose Winery. They are one of the kindest couples that I've ever met. They are exquisite hosts serving up delicious wines. The grounds of the historic hotel Temecula are what you get to explore while sipping your wine. It is a lush and beautiful farm style garden packed with relics and antiques and even a couple of chickens. It's relaxing and peaceful like an oasis in the middle of old town Temecula. Next time you are in old town Temecula do not miss this beautiful and historic spot. You will return over and over once you do.

They're the best with rich, complimentary flavors in each dish! Our server was great! Very pleasant! I love the ambiance at this particular winery because the views are gorgeous! There are multiple seating areas - the main veranda, an extended seating area directly to the side of the main deck (veranda), and cabana seating (deposit required). The way the veranda is framed with greenery looking out at the hills is stunning. Miramonte is still one of my favorite places in Temecula Wine Country!

Not sure how to feel about this winery, but after the second winery we visited after Miramonte, I…read moreprobably would not visit Miramonte again. I decided to do a wine tasting for my birthday with 2 other guests and drove from LA to Temecula on a Sunday. Arriving to the estate was easy, there's plenty of free parking spots surrounding the winery. It's quite an uphill stroll and some stairs are involved, but you definitely get a workout in. They have a covered patio area of tables that are either reserved or you put your name down to get a table on the left side of the winery, the middle/terrace area is usually used for private parties/events such as a bridal shower or birthday party, where there are 2 outside bars and sometimes they offer live music, the back area of the estate has a grassy area with small vendors selling jewelry and such with picnic style tables (no shade or cover), a gazebo of seating facing in my opinion, the best part of the view, and a separate location for wine club members. The inside is where you do the actual wine tasting experience, and has high bar stool tables and chairs for seating as well. Stepping up to the hostess desk, a man who worked there greeted us and very quickly told us what they offer and then walked away (had nothing to do with the check in desk area, so it was a little confusing). The hostesses had the same spiel to give, and I had mentioned it was our first time and we had absolutely no idea how to even begin a wine tasting experience. The explanations were rushed and basically told us to figure it out. We walked away towards the inside/outside terrace of the winery and were stuck walking around for 5 minutes not knowing where to go. We stopped by one of the outside bars and asked for help, the bartender told us we could start our wine tasting experience inside. Now was that so hard to help us navigate where we're supposed to go and what we're supposed to do? Not everything should be explained on a script, most of the time hospitality and customer service goes a longer distance than formalities. We finally get inside and the women working the front for the tastings were really impersonal and standoffish. We finally start getting a tasting experience going, asked for recommendations and none were received or explained so we just picked random options and had them pour. Throughout the 6 tastings we had, each pour was a different amount, if the bottle they were using was running low, they would pour the last bits of it (barely 2 sips), and hand it over, vs a bottle that was more than full, would get a nice even tasting pour. We eventually wanted to order food, and before we even started the tasting, we asked for a table and the hostess told us it would be over an hour wait. We put our names down, they called us in the middle of our 2/6 tasting, which was less than 20 min. So we went to our table and kept having to go back inside one by one to taste our different wines, as we were at a table now and not just doing the tasting experience inside. Food was great, service at the table was also great. Afterwards we left our table and walked towards the gazebo area and sat down by the view. The most enjoyable part of our day just taking in the atmosphere. On our way out, we wanted to experience a different viewpoint which was the bar area with the stools next to the tables of the "reserved/name down" area. I very nicely asked the hostess if we could sit in the empty seats for just a second to finish our last tasting and take in the view, she told us no those are reserved areas and not just open for anyone to sit at as they please. "Sorryyyy those are reserved spaces" with a smile that was clearly not genuine. We understood, dropped our wine glasses off at the bar, and proceeded to our next destination. All in all, the service here was not great. The entire experience felt absolutely rushed, it was not focused on the wine tasting experience at all, they are more focused on selling tables and getting you to order food. There was no explanations on a quick backstory of the wines we were interested in trying, it was just like "which one do you want" "*point*" poured it, and just told us to enjoy. I didn't enjoy my time here at all, and I won't be back to visit, as there are many many other lowkey wineries that are not as highly reviewed or popular as this one, and they are a much better experience.

He gave me a tour of the entire grounds, which are expansive and very beautiful. Giovanni was very knowledgeable about the property and business and gave good tips about how to order food and buy wine there. He was funny and was a highlight of the whole experience. The wine list has several Italian reds which I love and I thoroughly enjoyed the Pimativo. The menu has many items to choose from that will satisfy most people's tastes. I ordered a pizza which came quickly and was hot and very delicious. The service was attentive. I would highly recommend this winery.

It's nothing particularly special, but it's fine. They also have mixed drinks and beer. The only challenge I have with this place is the line. When they get busy, the line gets long because it's not the standard winery tasting experience. This is the place to go to for the ambience. To be clear, I enjoy all their wines, but there are better wineries in Temecula for wine. Not any better for nature, though. It's always all ages, and if you like country music, it's a great vibe on Friday night as well.

We visited as a group myself and my boyfriend along with his nephew, his wife, and their son and it was the perfect setting for a family outing. The space had a relaxed, welcoming vibe that made everyone feel right at home, from the adults enjoying the wine tasting to the little one along for the fun. Our server Fabio was a true highlight of the visit. He was warm, attentive, and genuinely knowledgeable whether recommending wines or walking us through the pairings, he made the whole experience feel personal and special. We started with a beautiful charcuterie board, loaded with cheeses, grapes, olives, crackers, and more the perfect way to kick off the tasting.
