When I'm looking for my big o I know exactly where to go. Take me to the place that smells of fresh rubber and serenades me with sounds of screeching air ratchets. Give me four thick and chunky tires to ride out on, the deeper the tread the better. Slap those babies on my ride and send me off into the sunset! Pete and his crew have taken great care of the tires on our vehicles for the past ten years, and because of their great service, we haven't really gone astray (except for the few times we were in a bind and couldn't get to this facility). They always make sure we get a great deal and make sure we know we are riding safely on the road. They do it all. From tires, to balancing, alignment, oil changes, and more. Today when I bought my tires, I realized I had been bringing my car to the competitor for oil changes when I should have been coming here all along. That is going to change today! *I personally did not go to this site, but it is my car that was worked on* I normally only leave good reviews with a justified score, but what happened on 9/22/2018 was unthinkable. My girlfriend and her mother went to this Big O Tires for tire replacement on two tires and an alignment. (Granted it was close to closing time) The tech says that they cannot perform an alignment because one of the rims were bent. They did suggest going to a Junk Yard because if they ordered them it would be expensive. Long review short. If they had attempted an alignment, they would have noticed that they had stripped the lugs which resulted in endangering my girlfriend's life (I am sending the video of the tire being movable without being jacked) and destroying my new breaks. I work in service, and I believe in excellence no matter if it's close to closing time or not. I am not happy at all. read more

I got new tires this past weekend and they didn't tighten ALL of my lugnuts on one of my tires. I can only imagine what would have happened if it flew off when I was on the freeway. My rotor looks to be ruined too. For your own safety, do not go here! ***Update the shop towed the vehicle to their place to re-inspect the vehicle. To their credit the incorrect rims are on 3/4 tires which is news to us as we just purchased the vehicle. However; the information that was shared with me today was beneficial and helpful and let me know that there was a safety concern. Upon leaving the shop on Saturday I was not informed of any safety concern. I do appreciate their attempt to rectify the situation, but there is still a huge safety concern here by them not pointing this out to me. I drove 3 miles and my tire almost fell off AND I went on the freeway. It was falling off on the tow truck on the way there. When you pay someone to be your tire expert you expect them to communicate major safety concerns with you. ***Update #2 (after receiving the vehicle)... Arguing with customers to the point of almost yelling and being condescending to customers (Jeremy) is not a good way to do business. Regardless of whose "fault" it was and whose "lap this fell into" and how "late in the da" it is, this is not the concern. Providing your customers with customer service and education of your industry is what you offer along with tires which are attached to wheels. Yes, we seem to have bought a lemon and now we have new tires on a lemon that is un-driveable. I had a really unpleasant experience here. I didn't know much about tires, so I walked in thinking I'd let the experts help. Not the best idea. In case you don't know much about tires either, here are the lessons I learned (and then how I learned them). Lessons: 1) Always do research before going in to the store. Just because they are a tire store, does not mean they will help you get good tires. Better yet, as I have now heard from several friends, order tires online to a store to have them installed. 2) If you do go to a store AND forget to do research, google the tires they are selling you at the register before you buy them. 3) READ Yelp reviews. I went here because it was close to work. If I had read the reviews, I likely would have chosen another store and avoided lots of grief. 4) If a store is a franchise, the corporate office cannot help, because each store is independently owned. They can't compel an owner or manager to do anything, so if the manager is the one who is the problem, you are out of luck. I'm not exactly sure what I'll do with this info in the future, but for what's is worth, there you go! The story: About a month ago, I went in for 4 new tires and an alignment. I told the salesperson (Peter, also the manager) what the specs were for my car. He told me there were two options--more expensive and mid-range--and that he could give me the midrange, $64.99 ones as a 4-for-3 deal, which I took, yay! After work, I picked the car up in the rain, so didn't look too closely at the tires. But they didn't feel great on the way home (more than an hour by highway, so I good a pretty good test drive). In the morning, when I checked them out, I noticed that the numbers didn't exactly match what I'd told Peter. Instead of ending with an H, they ended with a T. I looked it up and that letter is the speed rating and, apparently, you are supposed to stick with what your manufacturer recommends and what came on the car. (Consumer Reports and a bunch of car blogs say that...and on the Big O website, when I put in my make/model, it tells me T rated tires aren't a match.) So, I called Big O to ask about it. Peter was busy, so I explained to the guy on the phone and he was NOT nice. He basically told me I was crazy, that those letters don't mean anything, and that the tires they sold me were BETTER than the ones I had taken off the car. I asked him to have Peter call back and got off the phone. I then did some searching and found out that 1) The tires they sold me are objectively NOT better than the ones I had. (The heat rating was lower, the speed rating was lower, the tread rating was lower, and the mileage warranty was lower.) And 2) Big O's website doesn't even LIST the tires I bought. But Wal-mart does...for $37.06. So, Peter--AT A TIRE STORE--sold me tires that I could have picked up at Walmart for less than $40 a tire. And "gave me a deal" on them! After several days of trying to reach Peter and always being told he was busy, I got in contact with Big O corporate. They filed an inquiry, which eventually led to me learning lesson 4 (see above), but also to Peter actually calling me back. In what became a pretty ugly phone call, Peter alternated between asking me "what did you expect when you bought cheap tires???" and insisting that "those tires we sold you were better than the ones you had and you have nothing to complain about!" (which is it???), but also that speed ratings don't matter AND that what I was asking for (to return the tires and pay more to get ones that fit my car) was like eating whole hamburger and then returning it because what a really wanting was a cheeseburger. (I honestly can't believe someone would talk to a customer like that.) The conversation ended with him telling me he'd ask the owner, but he could basically guarantee the owner would laugh in his face. He said if I didn't hear anything by Monday the answer was no. That was Dec 6. Obviously, I didn't hear anything. I gave up and filed a dispute with my credit card company for the cost of the tires, so that I can buy tires elsewhere that fit my cars specs. Yesterday (Dec 21), I got a call back from Big O corporate asking if the issue had been resolved. (No.) Had I heard from the store offering to exchange the tires? (No.) Based on the last month of interactions, it seems unlikely that the store will try to make this right. Which is actually fine. At this point, I'd prefer never to interact with the guys from this Big O again. (Just for the record, because Big O's are independently owned, this is ONLY about this Big O location. I actually spoke to another Big O store in trying to learn about tire speed ratings and they were lovely. They were also the ones who tipped me off to the fact that the tires I got aren't sold at Big O, but at Walmart.) read more

Had a nail in my new tires, and they diagnosed it, told me it would be a free repair--even though I'd not purchased my new tires from them :-) Because of this, along with their reputation for solid work, I came back and got a bunch of maintenance work done here. Let's start with saying I have had 3 flat tires within the same month. I am a young college student and recently brought my car with me to college. I had never experienced a flat tire before in my life until of course I got to a new state and city. I had no idea where to take my car for the tire repairs it needed. I first stopped at discount tire and they did not seem too helpful. I then headed to big o tires In Tempe at rural road and broadway road. Right away they got me all the information I needed to get back on the road. I ended up purchasing 4 new tires from them with the tire protection plan. Thank goodness I added this plan because since my addition of the new set of tires i have got two more flats. Each time I come here the manager Joe is always so very helpful and it feels very good to be able to have someone I can trust with my car in a new city. read more

Condescension and false information. I went to this Big O yesterday because my front driver's side tire had gone flat overnight, and it's the closest one to my house. As soon as I drove up, one of the mechanics scowled at my tire and at me, and when I asked for a pump, he condescendingly asked, "You mean you DIDN'T notice the 20 or so holes and gashes in your tire?" I was desperate, so there wasn't much choice but to stay after that. When I went inside, the same mechanic tried to tell me that my vehicle couldn't take one new tire at a time and that I'd have to order a full set of four. He looked at me expectantly, but I didn't respond because that didn't sound correct. Some internet research and consulting other people revealed that this is false. As a young woman, I expect mechanics to try and take advantage of me, but some places are worse than others. This is one such place. read more

5-star service all-around. I was told I needed a new tire last weekend and thankfully purchased a warranty when I got the pair a year ago. The tire in question supposedly was unrepairable with a big nail stuck in it. My warranty company directed me to this Big O' location. I first spoke with Jeremy over the phone to explain my situation. He was completely cool and professional. He said I could come by close to closing and they would take a look at the tire before ordering it to their location for a potential installation the day after. So I swung by and Jeremy wasn't there but one of the front-desk guys understood my situation and briskly took my keys away to take a look. Upon further tire review, there was nothing but a small screw lodged in the tire which was repairable with a patch. The nail in question was just stuck in the groove. So the guy handed my keys back to me and let me go on my way, didn't even charge me. Fan for life of this Big O'! read more

I was having issues with my car when I was moving across country... it over heating, and my temperature gauge was acting weird so because Firestone was the only place open on Sunday.. I took it to them.. I'll be honest, I'm not easily bothered by attitudes because I work in retail.. I get it.. sometimes you have bad days.. But the guy at Firestone was abrupt and straight to the point and cut me off when I tried to explain what was going on.. because of the that... they had to call me back 2 times the next day because they were confused... I dropped it off at 3:30 on Sunday and they stated they would start on it ASAP Monday morning when they open at 7am... I called at 9 to get an update.. the guy on the phone said they had been working on it for the past 45 mins and they weren't sure what the issue was yet but would let me know soon... no problem... Got a call at 10:15 and wanted clarification on what the issue was.. I asked if the diagnostic showed anything... he said they were just starting it now... so the previous guy kinda lied to me.. but no big deal.. And about an hour later they called back. They stated it was my overheating sensor and definitely needed to be replaced.. and they could do it for $650 and it would take 2 hours to fix.. it was 11am by this time.... not the best news.. only thing that bothered me is that they couldn't verify that this was the issue.. so I wasted $75 on a diagnostic that they couldn't confirm... I wanted to get a second opinion.. Took it to Big O tires and Will was awesome! Had it looked at instantly and was able to verify that it was the over heating sensor and he did recommend I get it replaced.. but as he said.. and I quote.. " I don't know why on God's green earth that Firestone said they can do it for $650 because I can do it for $185 and I can have it done in a hour!" I was stunned and excited beyond belief.. So bottom line.. Firestone = 6 hours total to repair.. $650 with kinda rude employees.. Big O Tires = $185 with 2 hours of repair.. and awesome and fast service.. Big O Tires gets the job down and that's the most I can really say. This shop is located near my house so I like being able to have somewhere I can drop my car off and go back home. Though for those of you that have to wait it out, they have a large waiting area. There's a couch, a dining room table and free coffee while you sit and wait. They do offer complimentary wifi but you need to ask them for the password to use it. Usually I have them do oil changes on my car because they do a pretty good job. Though every time I come here, they always tell me I need a couple of items done that equate to $400 on average. I think this is the second car I've brought to them that they said I needed a special alignment that would equate to $370. I don't know if they are required to sell you these other services but I would seek a second opinion first. Make sure you get what you came for and if you don't think anything else is needed, just politely turn them down. Overall, it's pretty quick and convenient. read more

my truck was at Big O Tires for oil change in august 2019 free "multi-point vehicle inspection." said its all good. they dont do anaything .. I open the hood on my 2004 Toyota Tundra 2/4/2020 Yesterday 101,000 miles and I open the hood noticed that the serpentine belt was fraid you could stick your finger through it. so I took it Queen Creek Greulich's Automotive and they replaced serpentine belt , timing belt hoses .water pump .thermostat . I also had a leak in the rear axle seal ,they replace rear brakes super good job best job I think I've ever had done to my vehicle. one more note August 19th 2019 my truck had been to Big O Tires, Did not do free "multi-point vehicle inspection." I think they should have seen the serpentine belt but I'm not going to dwell on it about Big O Tires Suck .. because I'll be going to I'm telling you it's fabulous Greulich's from now on forever. read more

Researched tires to find a good price... Relatively inexperienced with buying tires so called my dad to confirm that I was getting a good deal and he warned me of how shady Big O Tires is... I personally did not have my own reservations about this shop, but thought there was no way a professional store could screw up tire replacement and an oil change. I made an appointment in an attempt to save time with my service, but it still took this location 2 hours to replace 4 tires and change oil. They did not notify me that my car was done until I went and asked at the counter, and it was conveniently done a minute before then. As soon as I backed out of my parking spot they returned my car to, noticed that the power steering was shot. Since the service took so long, I could not go back in immediately because I needed to get back to work. Instead, I called the manager (Will, who said he has been manager for 10 years even though other reviews are quoting other managers) immediately to let him know I was having this issue after their service and wanted to make an appointment for the following morning. After I returned the next day, it took them an hour to diagnose the issue and they again did not notify me until I approached the counter. One of the receptionists, who indicated he was not a mechanic, picked up the mechanics notes and started telling me I had a leaking rack and pinion and explaining to me for 5 minutes that this could not be a problem they created because they only replaced tires and changed the oil. To replace the rack and pinion, he quoted me OVER $1600. After the initial 5 minutes, he admitted he was not an actual mechanic and had not actually seen the car but was just making a guess off of the notes AND THEN decided he would consult the mechanic. I waited another 10-15 minutes for the same ("non-mechanic") to return and admit there was a minor leak in the part they recommended replacing, not likely causing the problem. Instead, he said it was likely just a pump but since there was a minor leak, he had to replace the other part prior to determining that the pump was the issue, claiming repairs would start at $1600. I was met with condescending opinions and explanations when I pointed out how coincidental it was to come to the shop without a problem I have never encountered before and leaving the lot with it and not having the shop take responsibility but they smugly held to the fact that they were not asked to work on the power steering and therefore were not responsible. Instead of taking their diagnosis, I went to another shop and replaced just the pump for only $300 and that fixed the issue with the power steering at less than a 5th of the price Big O Tires indicated it would cost. I am still convinced that they sabotaged my power steering in order to get more business, I had never had an issue with the power steering in my vehicle until IMMEDIATELY after backing out of my parking spot as soon as Big O Tires finished their service. Do not trust this location unless you are willing to pay more for additional service created by the more than willing staff. Unfortunately, they disproved my belief that a professional shop could replace tires and change oil without creating additional problems. read more

After shopping around these guys had the best deal on tires. I brought my new Jeep wrangler in for new larger tires. About 5 days later my tire pressure light came on. I checked all tire pressure including spare and everything looked good. I had been driving without issue for several weeks on the new factory tires. To make a long story short they first told me that all four of my sensors were bad and would need to be replaced at the tune of 450 bucks. I told them I found that hard to believe since I had not had any issues before and the jeep was new. They then went and physically inspected the sensors at my request only to return and tell me that they were all missing. Needless to say I left in frustration. read more

I had come in for a tire rotation and balance and the people up front were super nice and welcoming. They finished an hour later and he said it was on them, didn't charge me. I was surprised because I fully expected to pay, said thank you went on my way. The next day I had a blow out, took it to a different tire shop where I found out two of my tires had lumps and bumps. I was so confused cause i was just at this tire place and they could've told me they seen bumps on my tires. they were visible to the eye. I called back and spoke to the manager "WILL" just to file a complaint and he got very defensive with me after I told him it would've been nice to be informed that I needed new tires and that there was bumps. I am SOOOOO happy It didn't end up worse then it did. Horrible customer service and accountability for not being attentive to their customers. Save your time and money and go somewhere where they will actually take care of you, ALSO if they don't charge you make sure you get a receipt with what they did. read more

Update: I sold the car at over 90K miles and the shocks and struts were still good! They NEVER had to re repaired/replaced. Countless other issues (engine-related) had to be fixed on the car, but NEVER the shocks or struts. I'm updating this b/c someone from Big O inboxed me, asking me to change my review. Sorry, no. Original post: I went in for a simple alignment because I had a little bit of shake around 70 mph on the freeway and a slight pull to the right. I'm driving a Volkswagen Passat with only 45,000 miles on it. 10 minutes after bringing my car in, the guy at the desk came out with a quote for $1535.47 because my struts and shocks were supposedly bad and causing cupping in my tires. An additional quote of $436.48 was offered for replacing the tires. Knowing Volkswagens well, the odds of struts and shocks going bad at only 45,000 miles is ridiculous. So, I went to a Volkswagen dealer and have them look at it and they confirmed that none of the things were wrong that Big O said were wrong. I also spoke to my private mechanic who confirmed that it would be near impossible for Volkswagen struts and shocks to be bad at this low of mileage. Big o tried to scam me out of nearly $2000. Obviously I will not be going back. Be cautious if you're brave enough to deal with them. read more
