I went yesterday to get a tire replaced because i had a screw in my tire. Waited 2 and a half hours. I told them i needed to be out by 6 because i had to get my child from daycare they close at 6. They did not get done till 6:25. I have spent over 10,000 dollars there in the last 5 years. I'm a regular customer there. Sharing my experience with Big O Tires (48th St & Warner in Phoenix): My car was there for over 30 days and I paid $1,400+, but it still wasn't running when I got it back. I had to take it to another shop, where the problem was diagnosed and fixed in one day. I attempted to resolve this through the Arizona Attorney General's office, but no resolution was reached. I went to Big-O-Tire on Warner Road in Ahwatukee because they're close to home and they indicated they had a specific Tesla tire I needed desperately. My tire and wheel were already off the car. However when I got there the price for the tire out the door was twice the price of Costco, and about $200 more than Discount Tire. Knowing I was desperate I believe they jacked up the price on me. I ended up buying it from Tesla direct and they installed it immediately for $150.00 less than Big-O-Tire!!! Go figure!!! Beware of high prices at this place and shop other tire centers to compare. Went to get an alignment, they couldn't because the condition of my truck. The manager then quoted me to fix it, with his profit margin screen open, I saw the profit margin on retail cost for parts, which wasn't nice to see as a customer. Lol. Anyway after looking up the parts cost right in front of him I realized he was charging double retail for parts, and upon asking him he said "well we are a business" I'm the same industry but I do high ticket off-road customizations, and we would NEVER charge more than retail nor would any of our vendors. Every line item on the quote was double what it would cost if you walked into any other store and bought it, labor for this job at every other shop has been 2 hours at $125/hr It was straight up disrespectful and I will never step foot there again, let alone refer anyone to there. Let's give this place a 0/5 stars. This franchise has the worst customer service and their mechanics sucks. We brought our Rav4 in for a normal routine oil changed and we are now facing over $11,000 in repair costs. They damaged our 2018 Toyota RAV4 and have refused to cover the repair costs. Here's what happened: they ruined the engine, charged us for a replacement, and then caused further damage to the transmission while supposedly fixing the engine. Now, both the engine and transmission are broken. Despite this, Big O Tires has refused to take responsibility or offer any assistance. The manager, Krystal Hernandez, is refusing to acknowledge the issue while being rude to us and the new mechanic. The assistant manager Scott Waddell assured us that the car was safe to drive, after "fixing" the engine. Less than 12 hours later, we were stranded on the highway at 1:30 AM. The franchise owner, Russel Lease, has also failed to address or resolve the problem. I do not recommend going here, you will be taken advantage of and left without a vehicle. read more

It's like they went to circus school instead of mechanic school just here to mess things up and take your money.... grease monkeys with clown shoes at this place. Dropped off my girlfriend's car on Tuesday for four new tires and an alignment. That's all they had to do. The car was in great shape new brakes done by our mechanic about a month ago. Two days later, her brakes go soft, she loses all her brake fluid, and the car breaks down while she's at work. Thank God for AAA towing. We had it towed back to Big O tires , and these guys had the audacity to say there's no way they could've caused the issue. Are you kidding me? You're putting tires on, and there's no chance you bumped or damaged something? On top of that, my girlfriend had $10 in her sunglasses visor, and after we picked the car up, it was gone. TEN DOLLARS. Who does that? When we mentioned it, they just denied it, of course. This place is a joke. Do yourself a favor and go to Discount Tire or Firestone anywhere but here. I and my very large family have taken our cars to Big o for years, for tires and service. After the Big O on elliot in Tempe caused some serious damage to my car, I was only going to the Ahwatukee location. In short- the Tempe Big O were brake checking my engine so hard it busted my radiator hose, broke 2 of my new motor mounts, my car leaks oil everywhere now, and it damaged the electrical (both to be mentioned later). I guess it's a "difference of opinion". It's a 17 year old car, not sure that brake checking it that hard (I watched it on video) is necessary or smart. Ahwatukee big o had my car for almost 2 weeks. I drove in with AC not cold, and my radiator fan wouldn't kick on. I have a FIXD code reader, and before going in there was a "fan relay circuit" code showing up. Day 1 - Ryan at big O called and said $2100 you need a new dual fan and kit, and AC compressor. I said well another mechanic had done some warranty work on motor mounts (again due to damage done by other Big O), and mentioned he thought it was electrical...As both AC & Fan were working, then next day weren't. This mechanic doesn't work on my car, he just did motor mounts a year ago and was replacing the ones under warranty. Ryan then on the phone said they have a guy that used to work at Chrysler Dodge and he's only in a couple days a week but would have him check the electrical and get back to us. 5 days later at 5 pm I called just to check in. They said oh we still think they need to be replaced but I have to get a better update from mechanic. When I said wait, did you check electrical - he said oh yeah, no I agree I definitely think it's electrical. I don't think at this point they had checked anything, that's fine - just say that. The next day, he called, text a photo of a wire and said "oh yeah the electrical is a mess", that's gotta be it. My guy almost got his hand stuck so we need to take the Bumper off to get a better look - this is $225 labor. I asked well if it is electrical as you now suspect, why do I need to pay the $159 AC check? He said if it's electrical I'll take that off. 4-5 more days go by, on a Tuesday night at 6 pm right as they are closing he calls and says your cars ready. HE SAID thermostat (he was on speakerphone), but I see on the paperwork he meant to say relay. He said "it was one of those we had to put a new one in to figure out what was wrong situation". So the fan was fixed. I asked about the electrical- he said oh there's nothing wrong there, it's all taped up/looks good and is safe. At this point (I was at my sons football game) I decided to pick up my car and reassess after reading everything. They had my car all apart to put the AC compressor in which I said no to. He said oh I'm glad I called they were getting started. Wednesday morning when I went to pick up my car, it was completely dead. Clicker, nothing was working. A tire guy came out to jump it- said "maybe it's your battery". I replied, "no, the battery is 3 weeks old - it was the first thing I replaced when we had signs of trouble". He jumped the car and said we'll it's completely dead. He couldn't help he was just a tire guy. I drove by almost daily, and my car was sitting outside for most the time it was there. Shouldn't have killed the battery though? Now after leaving there- I had a dead (brand new) battery, and I have 3 NEW CODES showing up (fan circuit is still on there also) in addition to my computer is now not responding. All the boxes are lit up over my gear selection (DNR1/2), my car doesn't know it's in park (causing me a lot of issues). One code relates to this, the second code says something about a transaxle. So not only did I pay $550 for a RELAY, but I've got more issues. My frustration lies in two valid points: 1- I almost spent $1200 on a new dual fan kit, when it was just a relay (a $30 part). 2- If a car code shows a relay fan circuit, why do you need to charge me $225 to take my bumper off? Why did you even have to check electrical? I suggested it, but only because I didn't believe the entire fan needed replaced - I'm not a mechanic. The relay is easily accessible in the front of the car. What was the "mess" and photo of the electrical issues? How did they magically go from a mess to "it's all fine". I don't trust the diagnosis of the compressor, as they didn't get relay right, so why would I have my compressor replaced if you could be wrong about that too? My AC is blowing cold sporadically, I think if compressor was shot that wouldn't be possible? Maybe though, not a mechanic. I understand giving people the opportunity to fix things, and mistakes/diagnosis can be difficult at times... but to get it wrong and almost charge someone $1000 for a blatant code and part that's right there, it's very hard for me to have faith and trust them to do anything else to the car: read more

Let me tell you I was a little bummed out because while I was on a freeway I was honked at by a stranger who told me my tire was low. I had to stop by nearest gas station to fill up with air to make it to my next destination Big O Tires. Not only did they take me when it was 10 min until closing time, but they were super friendly, and to make it even better is was super fast. I was at Big O in Peoria and they were extremely nice. Now the bad parts...They lost one of my specialty lugs for my rims, and could never get the balance right. After my third time there they offered bead bags to help balance the tires... those never worked. Went to a local tire shop and they balanced my tires correctly. I came back to get warranty on my tires because the side walls on one tire cracked. They told me it wasn't covered and the reason was I ran low pressure in that tire. I only had low pressure for one day... 2,000.00$ later and stuck with a bad tire. Won't be back. read more

We made it off the freeway, removed the tire and found shrapnel completely stuck around the axle....which we needed help with. We walked into two different auto repair places and neither would help. I don't know why Big O is getting 3 stars cuz I've been going here for years (wow just realized that) and my ride always leaves repaired and road trip ready. We had one problem last year and Ryan wouldn't quit till they resolved it and it was a conundrum. Also had an issue with Hankooks that wore wayyyyy too fast and Ryan got some tires that lasted a long time. Had to get new tires yesterday, and brakes, and then realized I was behind on preventative maintenance so got that done. While I wait there's usually a good movie on and I finally watched Top Gun: Maverick...got me in the feels, but I digress. This Big O location does 110%+ work all the time and if something feels off it's usually the gravel road 202 or just Ahwatukee streets in general. read more

Firstly I want to thank Terrence for trying to pick up the pieces when I came to pick up my car in the morning. Ryan completely dropped the ball the day before, did not get my brakes inspected or do the almost $600 in work that was quoted, and couldn't patch my flat so I showed up to embarrassing squeaky brakes and only a tire replacement. The donut was sitting in the back of my car absolutely filthy - they put it in the back of the car instead of putting it up underneath the car where it goes so poor guy who had been off the day before and wasn't even involved came out and helped me put the tire up and load my bike that I had ridden to get the car. Apparently nobody communicates with each other at this location so I would be extremely hesitant to bring my business back here. read more

Friends, family, random people I've literally never met, let me tell you about a company called Big O Tires.   Last October, I bought new tires at zero percent interest for a year if I used their credit card. Sure. I owed $200 in October 2020. I paid $133. I'll pay the rest off next month. No big deal. I'll pay some interest, my bad.   I login into my account in November and I'm greeted by a balance of $267.30. Huh. That's weird. Maybe I didn't remember how much I actually owed back In October.   Today, I had a few spare minutes and I logged in. $200.12 interest was charged after my payment in October. That can't be right?   I called. I was told it was the interest from the total original balance. My original balance was $886.18. The awful interest rate is 28.49%   Now, the thing is, if that was all of the interest I hadn't paid, it would have been $252.47 in interest. Not $200.   So, what was that that completely made up $200 charge that was so easily waived if I just paid the outstanding $67.30 today? Great question.   I'd like to know too. read more

I purchased Goodyear Pilot 4s+ with warranty from Big O on 48th st./Warner rd. 2years ago. I went in there and asked would they be able to install tires, do the alignment and check my car to see if there is anything wrong w/my suspension or steering. They said "sure we can do it all." Got my car back after paying $1,400 and was told they couldn't do the alignment because their alignment tech wasn't there. So I came back the next day dropped off my car for the second time and got a call at the end of the day saying they weren't able to do the alignment because it's a Mercedes and it required a special tool. Oswaldo was the associate that was helping me and said they would have to send me to the Big O Awatukee Foothills location. I went there dropped off my car for another day as was told they would be able to do my alignment because of worn suspension components. I asked "why didn't they tell me I needed to fix my suspension before they sold me the tires???" I even asked them before they did the work. He had no reply. I ended up replacing my whole front end suspension and some steering components. Took it back to them at the Foothills location and they did the alignment. A year later I took it back to that location because the car was pulling right. Took it in to the foothills location and they said the warranty work. I told them that there was a clunking noise so they kept the car overnight. Next day they said they couldn't find the problem so the assigned a more seasoned tech to look at my car. He came back and said it was the rack and pinion($1000+ just for the part)! So I bit the bullet and took it to Mercedes Benz of Scottsdale and they diagnosed it as worn bushings on my stabilizer link to my sway bar. That's what was causing the clunking noise when I turned the wheel and why I felt the car was all over the road. I fixed the problem and was fine until I notice a leak in both of my front tires. I have warranty so I took it to Big O to get them replaced and the manager Ryan said he wouldn't be able to replace them unless they had a nail,(which they do) defect in the tire, or blow outs. He said the inside is showing tread but he can put a plug in the hole but wouldn't warranty the tires??? The treads are showing the tire is not safe to be driven with out getting a blowout and causing an accident??? And this is what my warranty pays for??? I was told by Oswaldo that this warranty I was purchasing covers EVERYTHING. My wife is an ICU nurse at HonorHealth Osborn and drives this car to graveyard shift. I don't want her to get a blowout, end up in an accident and be admitted to the ICU because Big O didn't want to fulfill the warranty that I paid for. I need a response and resolution ASAP read more

I made and apt to get my oil changed. They tried to upsell me a fuel system flush etc. It tool over 2 hours. About an hour in the guy tells me that there is a nail in my tire, do I want it repaired. Thinking of their competition for tires, (Discount), I figured it would be free. They hit me up for $39.99 to repair the tire. The oil change was $49.95. I use to be a loyal customer to Big on tire but I will not be returning. I replaced 2 new tires and I waited 2 hours on a Wednesday. I expected quicker service. Lastly the girl that checked me out asked me if I wanted an alignment and they already parked my car and took it out of the shop. They were closing and I was ready to go home so I said no. She said by the way the warranty won't cover. I noticed it's running different. Now I have to spend more time to go find another place to do wheel alignment and I will never buy tires here again! I wish I could give 0 stars. I've been here on two separate occasions and hoped my first experience was a fluke. I had booked my tire appointment online, received confirmation that it was approved, and took it in at my scheduled time in the morning at 9 am. Ryan told me that it would be a few hours to put on all 4 tires that I had already selected online and I would get a call around noon when my car was done. Noon comes and goes, no call. I call at 2 pm and am told my car will be done "soon" and they'll call me. No call until I called at 4:30 pm asking about my tires from the 9 am appointment. Ryan tells me "it's almost done" and should be ready by 5 pm (when they close) and that I needed to show up by 5 if I wanted to pick up my car that day, or else I would need to come back the following day for it. I got a text at 4:57 pm that my car was ready as I was already in their lobby paying. 8 hours for a tire replacement that I scheduled and received incorrect (or no) communication about?! I was pretty irritated that my entire day was wasted after I had been communicated to that my car would be finished hours before it actually was with no heads up about the delay. Ryan was rude, did not follow up as he told me he would, and misspelled my name on my paperwork and follow-up communications, even after I listed it correctly on my appointment information and corrected him about it after I saw it misspelled the first time. My name being misspelled may be a small thing, but it's still important for customer service and was upsetting to see after being given the round-around ALL day. The second instance was this afternoon when we noticed my husband's tire was flat. We could see the hole was near the sidewall and weren't sure if it could be patched or if a new tire was needed. When we got to the shop as a walk-in, the tech had hardly looked at the tire before saying a new one was needed and they "didn't have time today," so we would need to leave it overnight. This car was our only transportation at the moment, so leaving it overnight wasn't an option. Mind you, they were checking inventory during this time for the tire we needed and found they didn't have it in stock. They began calling other areas to see if their inventory had it, and we listened (on speaker) to the technician be cursed out by the other technician on the phone about "the f*** you think we have THAT tire in stock?!" It became clear that even if we left the car at Big O, the tire we wanted wasn't available, so leaving the car overnight to be fixed the following day would've been pointless. Because of this, we asked if they could put the spare on for us so we could safely drive home and make a future appointment at another place that had the tire we wanted in stock. "No, there's no time. The car needs to be left overnight." For putting a spare on?? We then asked if they could at least pump up the tire enough so we could drive to a nearby family member's house and put the spare on ourselves. "No, there's no time. The car needs to be left overnight." We reminded them that we needed the car as it was our only transportation and we understood they were busy and closing in an hour, but was there ANY way they could take a few minutes to put the spare on or at the very least put air in the tire so we could go add the spare ourselves? "No, there's no time. If you want anything done, you have to leave the car overnight and we'll do it tomorrow." I absolutely understand that they were busy and we were not expecting them to drop everything in that moment to help us, so we were willing to wait as long as needed, as long as we could have a temporary fix to keep us safe until a more permanent solution could be implemented. A little human decency to sympathize with our situation of not being near home and needing some help to make sure we could drive safely elsewhere to put the spare on would've gone a long way. Miraculously, we managed to get to our family member's home safely on the flat tire and put on the spare ourselves in under 10 minutes that there was "no time for." Both experiences here have been SO disappointing and created incredible amounts of frustration. We will now be exclusively going to Discount Tire -- Big O has completely lost my and my family's business with their lack of service. read more

I have needed to update this review based on the experience I had recently, I would highly advise against anyone going to this shop! I had my tires replaced, then the same day, I get a tire low pressure warning on my car. When I checked the pressure the next morning (to have tires cool down for a more accurate reading.) they were sitting at 22PSI on the left side! (33PSI is required by the manufacturer for safe operation.) I went to Big O Tires to have them see what the issue was, and they were too busy, so they just added air. Now what do you think happened? They OVER INFLATED the tires to 40PSI! This can cause damage to the tire and the pressure sensors. Two days after they added air, I get a Tire Pressure Sensor Fault error on my car. When I took the car back to Big O Tires, they informed me that the sensor was dead and that I had to pay $180 to fix one sensor! (The manager decided to cut me a break and only charge $150 for the sensor, just for the part mind you!) Of course, they are trying to profit off of me on top of damaging my car! I went online to check the prices of the parts, and I can buy all 4 tire sensors plus the straps that hold them in the tire for $155! The store wanted me to wait for them to get the part, and have them "Check for damage" to see if they damaged the sensor during tire installation. Mind you I had no issues with the tires OR the sensors before I brought my car to Big O Tires! I don't have the time or the money to pay for this repair after I already shelled out over $380 for replacement tires. And it only makes sense to replace all 4 sensors at the same time, so they expect me to pay $600 for sensors, almost DOUBLE what I paid for the tires! This is not acceptable! I called corporate to see what options they will provide me. Corporate's solution has me paying OUT OF POCKET to have someone outside of Big O Tires to check the work of Big O Tires! And if they don't see any damage, I will have to pay OUT OF POCKET for the diagnostic AND the sensors! I NEVER had an issue with the sensors before I brought my car to Big O Tires! I will never take my car there to have them "Check for damage" because they can't even install the tires correctly! I mean come on, when they installed the tires, they UNDER INFLATED them, when I went back to have them correct it, they then OVER INFLATED them! (Which can cause damage not visible by the eye to the TMPS sensor.) Where is the BIG O YES for the repair of the issue Big O Tires has caused my car? Oh that's right, it's still a BIG OH NO! Boyfriend and I dropped his truck off two days ago for a Tire Alignment. Spent 2 hours waiting for it to be done. They called to tell us additional work that needed to be done. My boyfriend declined the extra work, as he can replace it himself, to continue with only the alignment. After paying $208, we left. My boyfriend realized yesterday the alignment wasn't done at all. My advice to you as a business.. don't try to rip people off. Especially if they know what they are talking about. Awful way to run your business.
