Paid 2k for tires and they offered me a free alignment. The PSI was different on all tires, which is no big deal. As I was driving home I noticed my alignment is completely f**** up, I mean it's really bad. So I drove straight home, and I leave the car alone. Next morning I'm about to go to work and my front right tire is completely flat. I verified no nails in the tire. They kept my car the whole day for a new tires and this is the job they did? Fam I'm just speechless right now. I really don't recommend you nobody to let them work on their car. If you really care about your car I'm telling you right now don't let whoever they have in the back touch your car. These are not professionals -------- update June 19th 2026 * new review * So I've had a slow leak on my front right tire, this whole week and I mean 4 days out of the last 5 this week I went in for this exact repair that I communicated to the front desk on multiple occasions. So day one Tuesday, I didn't have my wheel lock, fine that's on me. The other 2 days I guess they were slammed and it's towards the end of the day. Ok cool. Finally, Thursday I guess they decided it would be better to make me an appointment. So now it's Friday. They take my vehicle to the back for my slow leak in the front right tire. 1 hour an a half passes by and I asked if they were able to find the leak, they said no but now all of a sudden, there was a nail on the rear right only. (Wait till you see the repair they did) to my surprise, I've had not a single issue with my rear right tire not one. I check my car everyday I know for a fact there was no nail there. (Again, wait till you see the repair they did). So now, after 4 days if going in to the shop and like 4 hours of being there all together for this simple repair. They did not address the repair I went in for whatsoever but now I have a patch in the outer wall of my rear tire because apparently there was a nail on it, which never ever leaked air. Never. The technician obviously bullshitting me in a very silly way says oh yeah just monitor it we didn't find any leaks I guarantee you it's ok. There was only a nail in the rear right. So I'm looking at him in disbelief. Like hey bro I've had to put air in this tire every single day. And I've been here 4 days this week so that you guys can repair my issue. Never mind that. I've been here a long time and you didn't bother to check the rim either? He said no the tire is fine there's no leaks in the front only the rear. At this point I'm like holy shit you know what just get me the f*** out of here I can't deal with these type of people. Now I get my key and go get in my car. (Please see the pictures so you can have a good laugh) I can't even be mad at just how dumb this is. I get in my car and the interior is dirty AF (see pictures). I check the repair they did, and they literally patched my side wall. Or at least very close to it, this might not fail tomorrow but it will eventually leak if you anything about tires. Also I can see that the technician smacked my rim with the impact driver bit while trying to loosen the tire (see pictures) Again at this point I'm laughing to keep from cryin because of how bad the job is. This is some low level, extremely low intelligence work. I went in for a front right tire repair, and without asking me, I end up with a patch on my rear right side wall LMFAO. Bruh. I went in there 4 different days this week. For this.?!?! Last time I had a really bad experience with them (read old review above) homie had charged me like 500 extra dollars for mounting my tires LOL so I went in there with very low expectations. But this, just goes to show you, you do not wanna do business here. I deeply regret buying tires from them. Again please do not let your mom or sister go in here by themselves, they will rip them off. My husband called to check first if they are busy for oil change with tire rotation service (because I gave him a groupon voucher for that). He was told if he comes at 9:30am, he will be out in one hour. He was on speaker so I heard the conversation. He asked what if he comes at 10am (because he would like to eat breakfast first), Marvin, the manager told he that'll be 1 1/2 hour service. My husband doesn't want to waste his time waiting longer than 1 hour so he said he will be there at 9:30am. He made it at 9:30am but he said there was a road construction so he had to drove around again. He parked at 9:35am and was checked in at 9:40am, and was told that it'll be 90 minutes to 2 hours wait. Wow, no more turning back for him so he had no choice but to wait. He was not happy because his day is gone. Then to make things worst, he was charged an extra $16.95 because the Groupon voucher promo is not enough for the SUV. Also tire rotation was not done because they said they could not find the tire key and if my husband really want the Big-O tires guys to do the tire rotation without our tire key, that will be an extra $100. What a rip-off!!! Never again will we buy Groupon and never again will we come back to this Big-O Tire branch because they only want your money! This should be ZERO star but giving one because they found a nail on our tire and they fixed it, of course they charged $40 for that... nothing is free and I don't expect that to be free. read more

They offer free coffee and drinks and did my work pretty quick and I was happy with the results. I normally do my own work but with the cost of materials and clean it. Brad always takes excellent care of me and my car. I have a very difficult-to-access insurance to cover flat tires (which I get often in East Oakland) and Brad takes the time to get in touch with my insurance and make sure I get coverage. Brad is honest about what services are needed, how much they cost, and how much time everything will take. He also always offers options to reduce cost if needed and gives me guidance on what is absolutely essential to keep my car in safe working order. Brad clearly understands automotive mechanics and can explain things in layman's terms to someone like me that has no experience in this area. These guys were incredible. I came in because I thought I had slow leak in one of my tires. But they checked all for and didn't charge me a thing for checking them. That alone is worth the 5 star review. They did however find some hoses and caskets that were leaking. The oil light has been on for years even after an oil change. I check it on the regular. The hoses they had micro mini leaks in them were causing the pressure to drop that's why the oil light has gone off. Plus the honesty was spot on. Accidentally left my wallet and CC cards there. Got a call just as I walked in the door. Said I'd be down tomorrow. Well 4 days later still haven't picked it up was so involved with a project I was working completely forgot about it. They did they called and left another VM saying it's still in the safe when you decide to come get it. I'll be back. read more

Came here last minute as a recommendation from my mom. I was looking for something close and convenient to home. We did go to I had one flat tire and I needed a new replacement right away. So I drove here in the morning about 8:00 a.m. on a weekday and I was seen and helped right away. The first assessed my flat tire to see if it was repairable. Unfortunately it was not, so I needed to buy an entirely new tire. They have a range of prices on tired depending on your budget and quality. I paid around $200 for the service and the tire and insurance. The service itself was very quick and took only about half hour which gave me time to grab a coffee from the corner coffee shop across the street. I do believe they offer other services , like oil changes. The staff was also very friendly. I highly recommend it would definitely come back for my next service. read more

I needed an oil change, so I decided to find a place through Groupon since everywhere else was overpriced. Once I bought it, I called Big O Tires and scheduled an appointment on a Saturday at 8am. I know from experience that oil changes usually take awhile, so I wanted to be in and out, especially on a weekend. I was a bit confused when I arrived because I wasn't sure if I should park my car at the parking lot on the side or in the servicing area. Luckily an employee was outside and told me that I should drive up to the servicing area. Once I parked, I went inside with her to the counter and she immediately helped me. I gave her my keys and my Groupon voucher, and she told me that it was going to take about 45 minutes. There was seating right next to the counter, so I decided to just wait there. And right at 8:45am, they were done! Before I got my keys back, I had to pay an extra $11 for the recycling fee. This was by far one of the best oil change experience that I've had in awhile. I really liked that they were efficient and most importantly friendly. Another big plus is that this location is close to my home. I will definitely be back again in the near future!! read more

I brought my car to Big O Tires in Hayward for a four-wheel alignment, and it turned into one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences I've ever had with an auto shop. After the first alignment, my car started making clunking noises under the front seats at low speeds and during turns -- something that never happened before. I returned to the shop and went on a test ride with the store manager, Marvin, who kept insisting he didn't hear anything and downplayed my concern. Back at the shop, they eventually discovered that they forgot to tighten a bolt during the alignment -- a serious and careless mistake. No apology was given at that time, but they tightened the bolt and redid the alignment. The very next day, the alignment was off again. I returned for a third visit, and only then did Marvin finally apologize and redo the alignment. Yet again, the following day, the alignment was off. At this point, I lost all trust in this shop's competence and decided to take my car elsewhere to have it properly diagnosed and repaired. I'm also concerned that driving with a loose bolt may have caused further damage. This level of carelessness and lack of accountability is unacceptable. I strongly advise to get a wheel alignment elsewhere just not in this Big O Tire-Hayward. Based on my experience, I seriously question whether the technicians are properly trained or even take their work seriously. I have all the paperwork documented read more

My grandparents and parents have been Big-O customers for years. I grew up with them and have been a customer all my adult life. We all praised them and trusted them. At least until a few years ago. I had a very bad experience at the Berkeley store about 10 years ago and wrote a lengthy complaint here on Yelp. I later went to others stores and had good experiences. But many of the locations have closed, prices have gone up and it appears that the deceiful practices that I experienced at the Berkeley store are now in practice elsewhere. There are many about this location. I understand needing to make changes if a business is struggling. Increase your fees if you need to, shrink your staff if you need to. But when you sacrifice customer service and stop giving customers a good experience, you WILL fail. Word spreads, you alienate lifetime customers and you become dependent on walking. It's a downhill slide into oblivion. It is a shame to see Big-O suffer this end. I hope they will wise up before it's too late... read more

I called and was told it would take a couple of hours to fix the tire of my car and I only have one tire that needed to be fixed. So I brought in my car and then was told it would take a few hours now. I got here within 15 minutes so what's going on? I don't have a ride and am stuck here who knows for how long?! Poor customer service. After two hours, I was told it can't be fixed but replaced and will cost $120+. I'm leaving and heading to another shop to get an estimate! Guess what? I brought my car to Castro Valley Tire Pros and I was told there's nothing wrong with the tire and they changed the valve for me Free! And asked me to bring it in if the tire still deflated overnight. I checked my car this morning and the tire pressure light is off. Scam alert. I went in for a wheel alignment and was told I needed $2400 worth of front suspension work BEFORE and alignment can be performed. This was told to me by the Assistant MGR Alyiss. These repairs were not even optional. Moreover, I was told 'we can align it, but after one imp, your alignment would be off again. Hmmmm I am an auto mechanic myself, certainly not a suspension expert nonetheless. However, I have replaced tie rods before and know the difference between a tight suspension/ steering and not. There is zero play in my steering, virtually zero. What tipped me off was I was told I have bad shocks....on the report it stated bouncy shock (how did they know this on the rack lol) and said they were leaking. These are Bilsteins (yellow) with 30k miles on it! No oil on the shocks, no leaks. I ask for an inspection to confirm the work that was needed. I had one minor split bushing that does need to be addressed, not now as there zero noise or play. In addition, the tie rod was deems bad, with zero play in the steering. How did they come up with $2400? OEM parts do not even total $400! Labor hours? Shop rate? These numbers make no sense. Moreover, repairs that we're not needed other than one lower control arm bushing. read more
