No one comes here because they want to or in a good mood. I left in a good mood. I'm in seminary right now so my dollars have to stretch and sometimes there isn't enough stretch to make things work. However, I was able to get tires on my car quickly and affordably (days before Christmas!!!). I've worked in the automotive industry and had a service department attached to where I worked that I would absolutely not recommend because they service writers were rude and took advantage of people if you didn't pay attention. The technicians did good work but it was a hurdle to get back to them even for a long-time employee like myself. It was so reassuring that someone would be helpful, kind, and quick. Big-Oh My! I've used this location for tire purchases over the past few years for several different vehicles. The prices have been very competitive and the experience each time has been OK. However, after my latest visit, I won't be going back. My wife had recently visited this location for a tire rotation. An employee of the store suggested to her that we use them for other services beyond tire service - such as oil changes. I have been going back to the Toyota dealer for my vehicle maintenance (namely oil changes). The dealer has been charging over $125 for a full synthetic- which is what my car requires. This location said they could do it for ~$75. I thought, for a $50 savings, let's give it a try! Boy would I regret that! I called to make an appointment and was told to just "bring it in and we'll fit you in"...and so I did. My adventure began when I arrived and stood in line. I was the only person in line. NO ONE else in line mind you. I stood in line for 15 minutes while two employees looked up at my occasionally and said "be with you in a minute" and continued making phone calls. I was patient and just kept staring "ok, thanks". I had thought quietly to myself "at least they are good about calling their customers..." (foreshadowing)... Eventually I turned over my keys, gave my info and was told "we will call when it's ready". This was at 1pm. They close at 6pm. At 5:45, I called them and asked if my car would be ready today. They said "we will get it done." "What time do you close?" I asked. "6pm," they replied. "Ok, I'll head there now" I arrived at 6pm on the dot and waited a few minutes - no one was inside. Eventually someone came and informed me that my brakes were in desperate need of service. I was informed that the rear brakes were only 3mm. I replied "that's interesting because I just had new brake pads installed a few months ago" - and I did! I had recently taken my car to my very reliable, long time mechanic who is trustworthy and does great work. He replied, "oh...well, maybe he just couldn't get the tool in there to measure them." Not sure if they really did a bad job of measuring the pads, got vehicles confused or were trying to scam me. I don't know. But they were dead wrong about my brakes. I paid and left to retrieve my car, only to find a 12 to 14 inch scratch down the side of my driver's side door! (See photo). This was absolutely not there when I dropped off the car. I went back in, waited a few more minutes and calmly told the employee what I found and said "I know there is nothing you can do about it now, but I just wanted you to know that someone scratched my drivers door." He was polite and came outside, took a photo and asked me to come back tomorrow and he'd try to take care of it. I said "thank you, I just wanted to let you know because this really shouldn't happen" There's no way I'm going back there! read more

I went into Big O for a low tire asking for it to be plugged. The customer service representative indicated they could not plug the tire because it was worn too much. I ended up agreeing with him and decided to buy all new tires. After they got my vehicle up on the rack, the CSR told me I needed brakes and struts and that they was a leak associated with them. Cost was going to be about 3k. I couldn't believe my vehicle was having this issue since it only had 40k miles. I called a family member and he suggested I just get the tires and he would take a look at my brakes and struts. I followed his recommendation and he took my vehicle to the shop the next day. There was no leak and I did not need brakes or struts. My family member has been in the automotive servicing for over 30 years. If you are searching for a tire place, i would suggest you find someone else besides Big O. They try to take advantage of people who may not be automotive savvy. Be going there for 15 years. Since the management change staff, their service is really bad. They broke my oil pan flap and put a zip toe on it. Had 179000 miles at oil change. The put 22159 as my next oil change mileage due. Big O lost me as a customer. Had tires and ahoxk replace. They left oil hand prints in all overly white car and the steering wheel was greasy. I visit the store at Hillview Kentucky regularly and always get there one half hour before they open because I am fighting a cancer problem and have radiation treatments every day. On Monday November 11, 2024 I was greeted by your new manager of 4 days Dalton Hatfield and told him my hospital situation and he had two of the air checking devices on the inside of the tires replaced and I was gone in 30 minutes. He also checked all the filters and the wipers and I needed two filters but did not have the money after doing the other work, but replaced them the next week when I got paid. This review is strictly for the Hillview location - I know other Big O's are owned by different folks. I make the trip all the way down from the Highlands because they are the only people in town I trust with tires! I purchased 4 tires from them a few years back, and recently dropped in with a slow leak in one tire. They are always busy, and I didn't have an appointment, but I was in and out in under 45 minutes. The employees are super friendly and while I waited in the showroom (very comfortable chairs and a TV to watch) I was asked multiple times if I needed anything or which car was mine and given updates. It turned out to be a hole from a nail, completely fixable, and I was on my way with no cost!!! If you need to have a tire repaired, are interested in getting new tires or having a tire emergency, I can't say enough good things about this Big O! Give them a call or just head on down. read more

Had a flat tire in the morning. When I realized I needed a tow for a new tire, I called and they said I could get towed there. They have lots of parking on almost all sides of the building with plenty of room for a tow truck to navigate. They started work on the tire immediately and were able to save it with a patch (it had a nail in it and luckily was in good enough shape to keep going). It's good as new. We went to pay and Patrick mentioned THEY REPAIR FLATS FOR FREE. We about almost cried. Obviously I'm leaving a review. They claimed the affected tire had two unrepairable nails in it. I declined since my warranty would cover the replacement. Well their warehouse didn`t have them in stock and they were back ordered. This place used to be pretty good but it's been steadily going downhill for the last couple years, especially the last year. They're incredibly slow. I can get there at the crack of dawn when the doors open and still take over an hour for an oil change and tire rotation. I've been regularly getting brakes checked every 6k miles for the last 18k miles. One visit I'm told brakes are good. 6k later they're completely gone, front AND back. 300 bucks per axle. Bought tires from them 30k miles ago, supposed to be 50k mile tires. Got regular rotations. At 30k they tell me they're gone and start pricing me for $400 set of tires. Was going there mostly for the free rotations but I'll go down to Valvoline and pay $20 for a rotation and be out in 15 minutes with an oil change. read more
