Took my daughter's car in for an oil change and to have the brakes looked at. Her car is older model Honda that we bought used. Have no clue when the last time the brakes were changed or had maintenance. Needless to say they were in horrible shape and everything needed to be replaced. My Team of Keith, Amanda and Ike took good care of me. It was a costly visit, but I know I was in good hands. Keith is my regular person at Big O, I trust his judgment and always enjoy catching up with him in his little window watching over Jeffersonville. I will continue to pass up big O and go pretty much anywhere else. My son took a tire with a hole less than the diameter of a ballpoint pen and they told him it needed a new tire that it couldn't be plugged. So I called around and of course. Big O does not have good prices on tires, so I took it to discount tire. They already ordered the tire for replacement, but then looked at the tire and said they thought they could plug it. And they did the right thing and plugged the tire versus charging me for a new tire that they had already ordered. Again, this is why I will continue to pass up big old Tire and go further out of my way for good customer service. read more

Second time here for minor issues. Two days ago I had both headlights changed. I also noticed that I had a burnt small coming from the car. I had them check that, and look at my heating/coolant system. I dropped my vehicle off overnight. No appointment scheduled. Didn't hear from them the next day. They called 2 days after dropping it off. When I licked it up, the gentleman that sits at the small desk between both entrances helped me. Not a lot of explanation on what was done. A simple pay your bill and goodbye both times I went there. I would like to give a shoutout to Leo. He was very helpful on the phone. On this visit, I brought my daughter's car and wife's van for the Winter Healthy Car Special. If you need oil and filter change, Big O's Healthy Car Special is the way to go. They change oil and filter, rotate tires (sometimes), check alignment, check belts, hoses, fluids and electrical system. This service normally takes an hour if you are here early when they open. Dennis, Ike, Leo and the shop mechanics hustle and get cars through fairly quick. The car I brought in EARLY was finished in an hour. The 2nd car I brought later took almost 2 hours. A couple women I was talking to were there for most of the day, like 8 hours. I was told the first car I brought through had 4% water in the brake fluid and needed to be replaced because the max water content can't be more than 3%. I passed on that to get a second opinion. It would cost $99.99 for new brake fluid replacement and was also told the brakes were 95% worn and needed to be replaced for over $400. I was also told I needed a new serpentine belt which I passed on also since I can do that myself, if necessary. I went from Big O to my mechanic who I KNOW can be trusted. He found my serpentine belt to be perfect, Like New. He found my brakes to have 95% life left in them, not 95% worn. Big O didn't know that it hasn't been long since the brakes were replaced. I don't know about the percent of water in brake fluid. I should have had them show me how they know what percent of water it had. The second car I brought in supposedly had the 4% water content in the brake fluid. Now I'm thinking most cars seen that day had 4% water in the brake fluid. I was tempted to bring another car in for the Healthy Car Check, but it was getting too late in the day. I was told the serpentine belt needed replaced. That's what they say about new belts. I was told the air filter and cabin filter need replaced because they are clogged. I will check them out soon and replace them myself if necessary. Those 2 filters would cost me $86 at Big O. I know I can pay MUCH less for all these items elsewhere. Another item I was told by Leo needed replaced was the battery. That's funny, because when Dennis looked over my paperwork, he mentioned the battery was good. I asked him if he was sure about that. He said yes. Haha. Leo was standing right next to him when said the battery was good. So does Leo sell new batteries to people that have good batteries? Perhaps. He likes selling serpentine belts and brake jobs when they are Like New. I get some auto shops make more money when they sell more stuff. Teams you can TRUST only sell items you NEED. Now one thing I can agree on was the need to replace tires soon. They have signs of wear. Leo priced me some very expensive tires which I would not purchase for this vehicle. The tires on it were not expensive and lasted about 5 years. I told Dennis the tires were too expensive and suggested he try to do better. He priced me some lesser expensive tires which I might go back and have put on. Lastly, when I started my car to leave Big O parking lot, I noticed a message on the dash stating I needed to put air in the tires and the tire warning light was on. I went back in the store and showed Leo a pic of the message on my cell phone. He came out with a handheld piece of equipment that showed the tires had 35 psi. I told him the message states tires need 36 psi and that is what is stated on the side of the door. Leo said 35 psi is fine. In closing, as stated earlier I will check the other items the Big O team says I need addressed. I might update my review if I find the team was correct in their assessment. My opinion of the Jeffersonville Big O Team being Trustworthy is not as strong as it used to be. I have written many 5 Star reviews in the past and been a customer since the days it was on 10th Street. I have referred MANY family friends and co-workers to Big O. The TEAM may have lost better members and took on some that aren't what the others were. I don't like typing reviews like this, but I have to be honest when I review. 2 Stars = Could have been better. read more

Had an appointment scheduled weeks in advance. On arrival, I checked in. 50 minutes later, my car still wasn't being worked on, and I was told they actually don't have the four tires I requested. When I submitted the appointment online, it was accepted, meaning Big O Tires is saying everything is good with the appointment. That was far from the truth. Big-O surpasses the other guys in so many ways. Here you will find the staff to be friendly and knowledgeable, and they don't treat females like they are stupid. When I tell the guys that my low tire light came on, they don't tell me that it's just the change in weather. They check my tires and remove the culprit that caused the light to come on. I really hate high pressure sales tactics. So, when I needed new tires, I was pleasantly surprised that they didn't try to upsell me past the point where I was financially comfortable. Took my car in for a rotation, 5000 miles, and then got a phone call which my wife answered and she was told that I needed new tires and that the rear brakes were 90% depleted. Since the tires were only six months old and I did not think I needed new brake pads, I took the car to another independent repair shop who I trusted and they said the brake pads were thick all the way around, and I knew the tires were almost new. Their bottom line for the repairs was almost $500 for the brakes. this is wrong and dishonest, and taking advantage of people who do not question their recommendations. BEWARE I took my car in for routine maintenance and received a call saying they found an issue with my breaks. ( there was no reason to have my tires off or to check the break system, I was not having issues with the breaks) they said it was unsafe and needed over $800 worth of work. I immediately took it to my service professional who looked over the car and found absolutely NOTHING was wrong with my breaks. Then they said it was the second car that day that was in because BigO had told them there was a break issue and they found nothing. I have canceled my account and will NEVER take my car to another BigO. I have filed a grievance with the BBB and the Attorney General. read more

Quality work & honest dealings from Big O in Jeff. I've been a customer of this franchise since they were located further west on 10th Street in Jeff. Now they are located a stone's throw from our home and I remain a regular customer. I've had a wide variety of work done on several vehicles ranging from routine oil changes to deep-dives into brakes, hydraulics, etc etc. The guys are highly communicative and detailed, and always run everything by me before servicing the vehicle. Best of all, I trust them because they have earned that trust in almost 10 years of high quality work and products. I got a flat tire and needed a quick fix the next morning. I knew after finding the hole in my tire, that I'd need to replace it. I've never been to Big O, but after this visit, I will be a loyal customer. After dinner Wednesday night driving home, I noticed my alert, notifying me of a flat tire. I found the hole and knew it wasn't going to be a quick patch. I went online and priced tires before actually calling Big O in the morning. When I called in, I spoke to Dennis and he priced me with tires around $100-130. I actually called a second time to see if they knew any local tows (being new to the area still), and Rachel happily assisted me. After finally getting into my car over to Big O, I only waited about 10 min before another salesman assisted me. I was directed over to Dennis's line after walking in and asking which salesman I spoke to over the phone. Big O was busy, and I think after realizing Dennis wasn't finishing soon, the salesman that greeted me at the door assisted. He was very helpful and easy going, striking up a conversation while getting everything set up for me. He said that it would take about an hour or so for my car to be done. I had a ride to work, but wasn't at work for an hour when Big O called saying that they were finished with my car. Wish I had a good revient but unfortunately not. I have been into the store twice before and it was great. Today was à bad expérience with both workers at the front desk. They seemed angry and talked as if it was a nuisance to give an answer to any questions. I left my car because à tiré wasn't holding air. Wednesday before Thanksgiving arrived about 12:30 they didnt close till 6. After the rim was resealed they called to pick it up. No one was at either computer so I went up to tell them I was there and I was told to get away from the desk and he used his arms to wave me away. Took my 2013 Ford Escape into Big O to get my strut, axle fixed. That same day I picked up my SUV after paying out over a thousand dollars to get all this work done. While driving home from Big O it was making a very loud screeching noise and I could tell something was seriously wrong. So I drove it back to Big O and said something is seriously wrong. Big O kept telling me there was nothing wrong it has new parts and will be ok. Now 2 days later while driving smoke starts coming out of both front tires and an awful rubber smell has started. Looking at my dashboard 2 lights up appeared ABS light is on and a picture of a car with swivel lines is on. I drive it back to big o in limp mode 10mph and this result melted all the previous work Big o did and also ruined the caliber too. So now I'm fighting with big o to fix my SUV and they want more money. This is the Jeffersonville location on Allison's lane and I have used them for many years and have always been happy until now. I no longer trust the mechanic at this location due to the recent information I received from 2 other mechanics I have had look at my SUV. I was told by both new mechanic that Big O did a very bad job and and ripped my hose that leaked out and that caused my suv to go into a limp mode. So that same day when I told Big O something was wrong they just blew me off like I was crazy. I was right and now they want to argue with me cause I'm a woman. This woman was right! read more

I called and talked with Danny Dooley and told him that I had a slow leak in a tire and wondered if he could repair it with a patch from the inside since the plug I put in it hadn't fixed it. He said he'd be happy to see if it could be repaired with a patch safely and if not he'd help me out with a good replacement used tire. I dropped the car off and while working on the one tire he did a quick inspection of the other three and found a major issue with one of my front tires which also needed to be replaced. He ended up replacing both tires with good quality used tires and cut me a real deal on the second one since he knew I was really hoping for just a cheap repair in the first place. The total time he had my car was only about an hour or so which I thought was pretty quick. The store was very clean and all the employees I interacted with were very friendly, especially Danny! Several years ago I had a pretty bad experience with a Big O Tires at another location so I was very hesitant to try a Big O again but I'm very glad I did and I will be back! read more

We usually have our vehicles serviced at Big O in New Albany, IN and have always received outstanding service and recommendations. Since we now live closer to Jeffersonville, I decided to take our Honda Pilot to that location instead for oil change and tire rotation. We had a recommended service light come on the dash, also, which indicated oil change as well as air filter and rear differential fluid check. The associate confirmed the recommended service indicator and said they would call when completed. I picked up the car and asked if the rear differential fluid was check and the guy said, "I'm sure it was". When I got home and checked the invoice there was no indication the air filter was checked, so I called. The associate told me air filters were checked and satisfactory. I inquired, again, about the differential fluid, since it was not indicated on the invoice whether or not it was checked. The man answering the phone told me, "No, it wasn't checked because we would've had to take it back to our mechanics and it would've taken a lot longer. Our oil change guys don't do that". He then said, "If you have some free time in the next week or so you can bring it back". This was my free day and I never gave them a time limit to fix what was needed. So, the indicator recommendation light was cleared and the recommended service was not completed. Very disappointing. I told him we would take it to our usual service center in New Albany in the future. read more

I have been going to big o here in jeffersonville since we moved here in 2016 and have not any issues until now. When they did a total brake replacement front and back and front hubs and bearings, I started having vibration problems. They told me I had bad shocks. I took my vehicle to another garage for shock replacement because they saved me 200 dollars. They said I had warped drums. They changed one and had the problem with other drum. I took it back and they changed that drum. Vehicle had a terrible vibration after that. I took it back and they said one of the brake cylinders MIGHT not be retracting all the way. We argued about that on how and they kept saying it. They kept my vehicle for the rest of that day and the next. When I called they got very I'm professional with me. I went the next day and they said the same thing. They replaced the drums again and changed the brake cylinders and charged me l most 400 dollars. I now have over 2500 dollars into it. And yes it still vibrated I complained to him and he wouldn't help with the added cost that didn't need replaced. I told him I was taking it higher and he said. Go ahead. Their reply was it's probably an out of balanced tire, which I had done 3 weeks prior. So instead of checking tire balance they change parts that don't fix the problem and cost you with no recourse of getting refunded or discounted. I'm sorry, this is the worst managed store since the previous management left a couple years earlier. I strongly recommend anyone that reads this to not go to this store. read more

I am writing a review for the new location on Allison Lane. I am so impressed with the staff of this establishment, especially the manager, Dennis. This business is closed on Sundays, and I happened to get a flat tire on a Sunday. I limped into this Big O Tires on my now completely flat tire (not knowing that they were closed), and as luck would have it, the owner was just pulling out of his parking spot. He has been there by himself catching up on paperwork but did not hesitate to stop and help me, even though his business was technically closed. He put on my spare tire for me without skipping a beat. He wouldn't take any money from me for his labor and was extremely pleasant to deal with. He was truly my hero as I had tons of cold groceries in the car that would have certainly spoiled in the 95 degree heat. I came back the following day to give them my business in a new tire and was extremely satisfied with the level of service I continued to receive. I was greeted by Kevin in the parking lot, just after getting out of my car. He helped get me all set up with a new tire and I was driving away with my new tire in less than 45 minutes! We stopped by at about 4:15 p.m., and even though the shop closed at 3, a few employees were still around. This was the first time that I visited this Big O location, since moving to that area. The facility was clean and organized. Dennis, at the desk was thorough with his explanations of possible issues with the vehicle. They even remounted a tire to a rim that was low, to make sure it didn't have a leak. If there was an option for 0 stars, I'd give them that. I've had problems with all vehicles I have taken to them. They tell me every day that the vehicle will be done everyday for the past week. They claim they will call and update, but never do and then get angry when I call for an update. Terrible quality work and customer service. My mother took her car there and had to take it back 3 times for the exact same thing within about a month and a half. They lie and then get angry when you try to call them out on it. I have had many experiences with them, so this is not just a fluke or a bad day. I am never going back and will tell everyone I know to not use them. read more

Best car maintenance place ever! I recently moved a city over and this was the first car place that popped up. I love all of the employees I've had the privilege to talk to so far and they all make me feel at home. They all are very knowledgable and each gave me useful advice. This morning I went to Big-O-Tires because my low tire pressure light was on. I went inside and the man running the place told me to wait outside and he would be just a couple minutes. TWENTY minutes later another lady and I decided to go to Michael's Tires Plus. I have had my tire go flat before and the chance of that happening again freaked me out. The guys at Michael's Tire Plus took care of me in five minutes. The staff at Big O were able to get me in immediately, patch my tire within minutes, and send me on my way for $10 (Seriously, $10). They also alerted me to a potential upcoming maintenance issue with my vehicle without laying on a super high pressure sales pitch. I couldn't have been more satisfied with the entire experience. They are also always very friendly even when they are obviously super busy. I will always come here for tire needs! I'm long overdue with this review, as Big O in Jeffersonville earned my business more than 15 years ago. Josh and Danny always greet me by name when I walk in the store and I highly value their expertise. Most of the time I'm in and out quickly for routine maintenance, but the few times that I've had a more serious issue, I've always had a great experience at this store. They're honest and fair and never try to sell you something you don't want or need. I just bought new tires there today and Danny worked with me to find the right tires at a great price. I moved away from Jeffersonville more than 3 years ago but still drive out of my way to take my cars here for service. As the old saying goes, a good mechanic is hard to find and even harder to lose. So when you find a good one, you hang on to them as long as possible and in this case, it's more than worth the extra miles to take my cars to the Jeff store. read more
