I had a very disappointing experience at this tire shop. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Worst tire company and THE WORST customer service I've ever experienced.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My husband and I purchased 4 brand new tires for his truck a year and two weeks-ish ago. The tires were put on at 181,000 miles. The truck now has 198,000. It's serviced as it should be and is very well cared for. I was driving down the highway at 70mpg when the truck started shaking. I pulled over and found this! Mind you, I had been driving for about 2 hours with no issues. The shaking was very sudden and no lights came on prior to the shaking to tell me low tire etc. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I call Big O at the Legends KC the next day and from the start am told "well this sounds like wear and tear and you didn't purchase our extended warranty so there isn't much we can do".[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] How can you tell me you won't warranty it without even seeing it? [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had to fight tooth and nail over this and even file a complaint with corporate because at first it was "it's not covered because you didn't buy our warranty".[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I pulled up their website and read word for word the two different limited warranties AND the manufacturers warranty that should be on these tires since they're only a year old with 17,000 miles on them. Still in really good condition. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After this the manager stumbles over her words and puts me on hold to the point I had to call from another phone while still on hold on the other line.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm told she was on the phone with corporate. She was trying to make us have our truck towed with the wheel and tire on it 40 minutes one way to not even guarantee a good outcome for us. I argued and finally they let us bring just the wheel and tire in. This was Monday 9/15. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We worked with the assistant manager at the store and she was amazing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She asked if we could leave the wheel and tire and they'd call us the next day. That didn't happen. I ended up having to call them on Wednesday. I get some guy on the phone who proceeds to tell me there was a hole in the tire causing this damage (I have photos and video of the tire before taking it to them and never saw said hole) and I have two options, I pay their cost for the tire at $401 OR they warranty the tire and make us add their protection on all 4 tires which still would have cost us over $400 (warranty price didn't make sense since we were told in office two days prior that it was $50 per tire). Obviously we said hell no considering we've already spent $2800 on these tires. We go to pick it up and the tire is still on the damn wheel!! How can you properly inspect a tire if all you saw was the outside? Lmao I called Nitto who's customer service agent was awesome. They listened to this whole situation and even told me for things like this their manufacturers warranty covers the tires for 5 years. They asked me to find another store to take this tire to for a second inspection. We did just that and took it to KC Customs who are PHENOMENAL by the way! They took care of us. Called Nitto to create our case, took tons of photos and did a proper inspection. Before they took the tire off of the wheel they did an air test with two different nozzles where this "hole" supposedly was and no air was going through which I already suspected was going to happen. They took the tire off and low and behold the entire inside of the tire was perfect. No holes or any damage. Usually if you're driving on a low tire as Big O tried to tell me happened, there would be rubber shavings inside of the tire. It's clean. Point blank, Big O Tires refused to warranty it because we didn't buy their warranty and made excuse after excuse not to have to warranty this tire out. From our understanding from Nitto, Big O didn't even contact them to check on the manufacturers warranty. I went to get a tire change because I love the sumitomo tire brand they provide. However, when service was done, I found that they had scratched and dented my rims ! If I could give -5 stars I would. I was heading from Leavenworth to Lenexa when my TPMS light came on. I was not aware of what this meant so I googled it. 1 or more of my tires were 25% lower than recommended pressure. It stated that I should remedy the situation and not drive the vehicle until it was addressed. It is February in Kansas and quite cold. Tires are known to lose pressure in cold/extreme cold weather. I went to Big O at the Legends as I had purchased 4 new tires and a brake job in September '24. Joe had no problem selling me the service and add ons. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I went inside and spoke Joe Chirello about getting air in my tires he said, " it's -5 degrees outside I'm not putting air in your tires!"[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I told him I was driving 20 miles away and the light came on and I felt it was kind of an emergency. He then said, " a couple pounds of pressure is not an emergency!" [[HIGHLIGHT]]He was rude and attacking the entire interaction. He made me feel as I had done something wrong.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He has me to pull into a bay and airs up the tires. He didn't even have to go outside to do it. He spent more time being rude than filling up the tires. He did not tell me what the pressure was before the fill. I will tell everyone I know about this interaction. I'm not someone who has ever taken the time to write a review before, but big o tires customer service is so lacking that I felt the need. 0 stars, a tire company that can't take off tires without ruining them. In preparation for a camping trip, I took my truck to get new tires as I would be towing heavy weight. I let them know ahead of time that I wanted my old tires back to put on another truck because they were 2 year old tires with plenty of tread left. Unfortunately, the big o tires in kck ruined all four tires by carelessly puncturing the side walls. When I brought this to their attention they told me I was out of luck, and they wouldn't be doing anything about it. The frustration of this visit doesn't stop there. I spoke with them ahead of time about not including the warranty on the new tires for an extra several hundred dollars in addition to the regular listed price of the tires. They said it was no problem. However, when I came to pick up the truck they had it already included in the bill plus a disposable fee for the ruined tires they placed in the back of my truck. They said I would have to come back another day to get the bill adjusted for the warranty and disposal fee. When I arrived on the day they instructed me to come back, they said there was nothing they could do about it and told me to come back in 2 more days. So far I've just been giving the run around about getting a refund for the warranty and disposal fee. My bill was several hundred dollars higher than it should have been and I'm out a set of good tires as well. Do not use big o tires. read more

Recently moved to the area. Was very worried about finding a car repair shop. Randomly chose Big O at Legends due to proximity to my house. I am so glad we did. Have gotten oil changes on both vehicles. One random Tuesday I was leaving the pharmacy with a sick kiddo (not contagious, thank goodness) and car was acting funny when I tried to start it. Called Big O, Joe answered. I explained what was going on and that I was not due to come in until the following week for an oil change. He said to come by and he would check the battery for me. Lo and behold, it was the battery. Joe had it replaced and check my fluid levels. Me and the sick kiddo were on our way home within a half hour. I scheduled my oil change online, came into the store and the technician was very nice who assisted me but didn't mention printing coupons before I left (which I mentioned using). I got a call about 45 min later since I got a ride back to work to say my rear break pads need replaced and quoted me around $500 which seemed like a lot and then mentioned I needed an air filter so I said sure. I came back and my bill was almost $70 for a oil change which I said, I have a coupon for cheaper oil change and he said I needed to print it off. I said, can't I show it on the phone and he said no. I looked later and it just says present at store but does not say print out is needed. I would say to find another place or ensure the coupon is printed before paying. read more

Tried to charge me $600 for a part that cost $200 When I asked why this part was over priced they tried convincing us that we just didn't know what we were talking about and said "You're not considering what the part cost in that area" They then tried to pressure me into going through them still saying, "well we already started." Needless to say I took it to a different shop and was charged $500 less then Big O Tires would have charged me. Quite literally the worst place. It's usually 30% more expensive to get my oil changed here than anywhere else in the city. On top of that, they typically call me and use scare tactics to pressure me into getting things like new tires that I don't need, and brakes replaced that I still have life on. I think they believe that since I'm a woman, they can get away with that stuff. Where to begin...I purchased 4 tires including the extra expense of a Big O warranty approximately 1 year ago at this location-Kansas City Kansas Legends. I debated whether to purchase the warranty, but decided to do so. After our tire pressure indicator light came on yesterday, I stopped by the same Big O location today at 12:00 to have the tires checked out. Knowing that I hadn't made an appointment, I asked the salesperson what time they closed (6:00) and said I'd return at 5:00 unless they called me before. I arrived at 5:15 and found no salesperson in the showroom. About 10 minutes later, a worker entered the showroom from outside, then asked another customer to move ahead of me to pay for his tires (which was fine). When it was my turn with the salesperson, he stated that my car was the last service of the day. Over 5 hours to check a tire for a slow leak seems extreme for a warranty holder. To add injury to insult, I phoned Big O corporate customer service on the drive home and the call was not answered...on hold for 20 minutes. Done, finished, won't return as a customer and suggest others think twice before using them for tires. read more

This may be tough to read because my fingers are still frozen from changing a flat in the west Kansas rain and snow. Bought 4 new tires at Big O near Cabela's in Kansas City. It took over three hours to get the work done, which isn't really all that bad considering we didn't have an appointment. Drove off and noticed they only put 30-40 psi in each tire. Manufacturer specs call for 60 up front and 80 in the back so we drove back and asked them to air the tires up the rest of the way. Which they did, no big deal. Also, the sensors were reading the wrong tires on the dash. They reprogrammed the sensors upon our return trip. Still, if my experience ended there, this would be a solid 3 star review. However, I give them one star because I woke up this morning to a flat rear passenger side brand new $220 tire. I'm currently limping on down I-70 on the spare. 3 Strikes and they are out! Took a car there that I just bought they said something was wrong with an electric connector. Took it to another mechanic who pointed out $5000 worth of very noticeable problems. Told them there was a loose heat plate that needed fixed and an oil change. I looked to see what they did after paying and nothing was fixed. Technician told me to come back tomorrow. I called the next day, the same lady That told me they could fix it the day before, said that's something they couldn't do. Took wife's car for an oil change they told her it would be 45 mins - it took 3 hours because they ruined the oil plug and stripped out bolts, now we need a new oil pan. Terrible. Frustrating. I can't say enough about how accommodating this shop was. We traveled from Arizona to pick up a travel trailer and we thought we might need to change the old tires out. I called on a Thursday and talked to Travis. He had two of the tires I needed and would order two more to have when we arrived even though we didn't know for sure we needed them. Friendly service but they put the WRONG SIZED TIRES on my car which led to me being unable to accelerate correctly while driving. When I called, they told me the work they did couldn't cause this type of problem. Had to take it to another store to have the issue identified and then they still denied they were the wrong tires to the new store. Eventually they coordinated and corrected the problem but made for a stressful day. read more

Bought a tire from them at the end of July this year and it had to be replaced on the 20th of December 2019. The tire was coming apart from the inside. Had already gotten the tire replaced and was told I would he able to get a refund if it was a manufacturer defect. According to the GM of this location it was. But all he can do is get me another tire. Apparently he didn't understand when I spoke with him on Tuesday of this week that the tire they sold me had already been replaced. AVOID BIG O TIRES AT ALL COSTS! I visited the location near the Kansas Speedway and Legends shopping area in Kansas City, Kansas. To begin I had to wait an hour and a half in an empty shop when I had purposefully called ahead for an appointment. I had made the appointment to have a tire patched and they ended up charging me ALMOST $300 FOR ONE TIRE!!! Unfortunately, I did not have a choice, (due to Interstate travel with family), so they had me over a barrel. Worst service I have ever received. I sat and watched 6 techs literally stand around for over an hour before even pulling our car into the shop and it was EMPTY. Not a single one of them worked on a single vehicle. I also witnessed them flat out lie to three different customers who were there to pick up cars that were finished earlier in the day. Whenever the customer questioned the charges the employees flat out lied. They told one young girl, (who was in for an oil change), that they had to replace both of her brake calipers because of equalibrium issues from changing the oil! 100% RIP OFF JOINT! Very disappointed in my service today. Put a front end alignment in and after 1000 miles it was already out... Manager Jacob Noble did not offer any help and was very combative. Apparently the employee who did my front end alignment had been terminated due to his poor work performance, yet somehow it was still my fault. Dishonest, scam artist, and incompetent to work on car. We bought tires here on Veterans day and the next day my car is jerking all over the road and skating like on ice. So we take it back and they tell us the suspension is completely screwed and want to charge us 2200 for parts only. Something that they would have known or noticed BEFORE doing the alignment and putting on tires. We decided to take it to an actual auto shop and guess what!!??? My SUSPENSION IS FINE AND MY RIGHT BALL JOINT WAS BAD!!! ALSO, something that would have been brought to their attention while aligning and putting on tires! The salesman who was basically the worst human we have ever encountered turned into a giant jerk and we had to go above his head to corporate to get reimbursed for the 5 year alignment plan which is supposed to happen next week. BIG O HECK NO!!!! In all fairness to them, we need to give ourselves a 1 STAR as customers. We kept coming back, but this place sucks. It's better to run your car out of oil or just pull the plug and drain the oil and then drive it... that's better than having these people work on your car. Why??? Cause they only put half the oil back in... one guy actually messed up our power steering when he pulled the cap on it to check the oil... how did I know?? I didn't, I asked a mechanic why our car whines when we turned it, thought the water pump might be going out... turns out old jerky boy at Big O Tires jacked it up. I can pinpoint that because no one had worked on our car, BUT Big O Crews... again we are terrible for being loyal. I won't do so much as let them put a car freshener in my car these days... you shouldn't either. If you use Big O Tire, you must hate yourself or money... call me and I'll take your money; but WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR HERE EVER!!!! I changed my review to 4 stars because Scott the assistance manager was super nice and called me up and explained the situation at hand and apologized for the inconvenience of having to go back in to get the original service that I needed. This wasn't explained when I came back to to get my oil change but the Big O team did give me a $18 discount on my oil change for the inconvenience of having to go back to the store to get my oil changed once again. I originally gave the team a 1 star because I went in to get my car oil changed and to get alignment serviced. When I went back to get my car expecting both service to be completed only the alignment had taken place. They told me they would take care of me but didn't tell what exactly they would do so It was frustrating at first.
