Walked in on a Saturday, frustrated because I've been trying to diagnose an ABS code, and the gentleman that helped me was very helpful. I told him what I'm trying to do and he was very upfront with me. He said that his Snap-On tool that is able to pull ABS Codes was at the dealer to get updated and he directed me to the store up in Orem, as he knew they had a Snap-On reader. In a world where it seems like more and more companies don't care about your business these guys totally stand out. Greet you in the parking lot, most of them remember your name (not sure how) and get you going quick. If they are busy (which they are sometimes cause they do an awesome job) they are up front with how long it will be and are always spot on. Never tried to recommend or sale me anything I don't need and their tire and service prices seem very competitive. Even if they were more, it would be totally worth it. I brought in my car for a new tire, and I was greeted by a very friendly staff. From the moment I drove up, until I drove away, everything has been explained to me. There was no up selling and they even honored a coupon I found online, so I ended up getting my oil changed too. Called This morning to see if they took appointments. They said yes and I made one for 2 pm for an alignment. They took my name down and everything. Arrived at 1:45 and let them know I had an appointment to do an alignment. They took my name again and took my truck. Fast forward 1 hour. I start to look around for my truck and an attendant let's me know it's still in line to get its alignment. To this I let him know I am not ok with that because I had an appointment at 2, came early and have been waiting an hour. He said they don't do appointments and its first come first serve. To this I let him know that is not what I was told on the phone earlier when I made the appointment. Still waiting 75 minutes in the shop. Not happy with the run around and giving of different information. They do have popcorn in the lobby. Update: they did get my truck in ASAP when I explained my situation and they gave me a pretty good discount. read more

Just don't go here. I went here for a simple oil change. First off, it costed $5 more than everywhere else. Then they came back with a list of recommended services for my car, most of which with no grounds, bringing my total up to almost $200. They even told me that my windshield wipers needed to be replaced (I replaced them a month ago). No good. read more

Big O tires in general ( at least in Utah ) is downright awful. Every time I visited the store I find myself asking, why did I come back ? The service you receive from the employees is not bad but they are very overpriced. I have been told on 2 separate occasions that my car needed work it did not. I was leaving town at 530pm and realized my minivan had a flat. Kids in the car, no where to stay, not sure what to do. I pulled in there and the staff had me back on the road in 20mins! I would recommend these amazing guys to anyone. The lead staff (reddish hair, big blue eyes, name??) was so responsive to the seriousness of our situation. We got out of there without a bill...he said it was a loose valve stem sensor and not worth charging me! He could have easily exploited the situation but chose to be a good guy. Took advantage of the "Healthy Car Special" tire rotation, oil change, and some car inspections. It was only $40 dollars. For the same services, one auto shop wanted to charge me 90 dollars! Everyone at Big O Tires was helpful and very prompt. I got my tire rotation and oil change done in probably 20-30 minutes and was back on campus for class in under an hour. They didn't try to charge me for anything I didn't need (which happens a lot because I am a short young woman), and it was overall one of the best experiences I have ever had in an auto shop. read more

This place is a total rip off. I went in to get my engine fixed and they charged me for a ton of stuff that they thought was wrong. I didn't even make it back to my home which was less than a mile away before the engine died again. Charged me again for a ton of useless parts and labor because it just died again a few weeks later. These guys are top notch. I brought in my Jeep to get new wheels to pass safety and emissions. They guy who initially inspected my Jeep said that the wheels' offset wasn't negative enough, so I can to Big O and I ordered the wheels. The next day I come in to get them put on, and it turns out the more negative wheels did nothing to help me pass inspection, basically due to misinformation/incompetence of the mechanic who did my safety and emissions. They charged me nothing and gave me some great advice on how to fix it. Colton helped me, and I recommend him and this location to anyone. They have your back. read more

Okay, so today I ran an errand and was about to get back in my car to hear air coming out of my tire from a screw. I picked the closest place to me which happened to be Big O Tires on Freedom. I pulled up and immediately Joel came out and talked to me about my tire. I also told him my car might have an alignment issue. He explained the difference of an alignment problem vs a balance problem. Patched my tire, rotated my tires all within 10 minutes. He was SO nice to me...and being a girl I thought I would walk out paying $100...It was FREE. If you go ask for Joel. He treated me like an actual person not some sales customer. Not surprisingly, another business trying to get as much of your money as possible. I used to like going here because they were pretty friendly and straightforward (and honestly they still are), but my last four visits have been less than fair. They'll recommend fixes you don't need, and quote labor times longer than necessary (they quoted me an hour labor at $85 for a job that I'd just done with a friend the year before in under 10 minutes, without any special tools, and they even said it could take more than an hour). This has happened four times where they've quoted me more labor than necessary simply to make more money. They quoted a belt to me at $79 which costs only $19 at AutoZone, so I just did the job myself. They've also recommended I purchase new tires, when my previous ones were way over the safe limit. They've even told me I needed to replace belts that had been replaced less than 4 months prior because there were drops of oil on them (and were still in pristine condition). If you know nothing about cars, you don't have a choice how much you pay for repairs, but for me, I'll keep looking other places for an honest mechanic. read more

Great service and friendly mechanics! Referred by a good friend. Went in because my clutch pedal felt spongy and I figured it was a leak in the slave cylinder. They sure knew what they were doing, and it took them under an hour to diagnose, order the part, and make the repair. Very impressed.
