Yes, they will most definitely recommend services your car does not need. When you ask them point blank "How much are those fluid replacements going to add to my bill?", they will lie and say $300, and you won't know that it actually cost you $600 until you pick up your car. They will fail to make the repairs that you know are needed and they will charge you for repairs that they didn't do. You have to know more about your car than they do or risk being told that original bushings on an 8 year old diesel 4x4 truck don't need to be replaced. If you can get past all of that, then you likely won't mind getting your car back with an oil leak so bad your engine compartment is dripping with motor oil and you can't get the smell of burnt oil out of your hair. The manager here, let's call him TG, is pushy, irreverent and will not take no for an answer. He will look for and find every possible thing he can get you on the hook for, not because he cares about the customer, but for the sole purpose of padding his sale. He will not tell the mechanic about the issues you're having with your vehicle because he does not want the mechanic to work on your vehicle for that long. And the mechanic will skip doing the wheel alignment that you paid for. They will both let you go on your merry way having been lied to and robbed you of your money. Over $5000 at Big NO and 2 trips to a AAA mechanic to fix what Big NO failed to fix, not only will you write a scathing review on yelp, but you will translate it into every language in the world so you can spare as many people as possible from going through what you went through with Big NO. Been coming for a couple years now. They never try to sell me things I don't need, have often given me a ride home from the shop, and once even allowed me to make a payment arrangement during a dire car situation. Also love the Sunday hours, plus they check everything important in my car every visit. I once broke down across the street and they went and got my car! I'm also one of those people that asks a lot of questions and requires a complete explanation of every service, and they've always been patient and thorough in their responses. To address other reviews, I cannot comment on the tires, as I have only had preventative maintenance services and the occasional larger mechanical repair performed. And, yes, there is usually a long wait, but most of the time they give me an accurate estimate of my wait time. And I have never, ever been charged for anything I did not expressly authorize and sign for! read more

First of all I just want to say Big O Tires lack of customer Service has nothing to do with the times we're having now with Covid19. I have been waiting in this cold building I mean extra cold. I have waited over and a half for just an update. I have left the building 3 times and all three times my car sat in the same spot. No work has even been done nothing was started. To remind you I have already been here for over an hour and now work is even started. I have seen several people in and out for the duration I've been waiting. Even people came and got work done after I got here and left before I left. I completely understand the work load, but you have front desk workers looking clueless like dear in headlights. If your going to sit there at least give some updates through the day not when you see me angry and have me to ask for an update. All this would have been solved if I didn't have to ask for my keys back, because I would have just left- nothing said but a long review. I am the only person sitting I. I have a 2016 Honda Accord Sport. It requires 235/35/19 size tired. Service advisor Eduardo inspected the tires and said they were 18 vs 19 inch even though the tires clearly state 19 inch. He provided a price which was acceptable. Drove to Discount Tire a block away for another opinion and they informed me that only 19 inch tired would work. I've been waiting almost 2 hours for a tire rotation. Enough said... Update July 23- I talked to a manager after a brake quote of $340 after 2 and a half hour wait. I wondered why so much after I just needed my pads in the back replaced and only paid 156 and some change. So the manager was rude at the end of our conversation and will be reported to BBB. Came in yesterday as a walk-in for a simple oil change on my vehicle but it was almost closing time and had to reschedule for the following day at 3 the attendant himself was unprofessional asking me about getting a job with my employer after I just got off of work. I left and came back the next day I came a little early hoping the vehicle could possibly be done quicker. Sat around for TWO HOURS and I haven't heard a word about my car, and I went up and asked how much longer he told me around 5:30pm I got there at 2:45pm! 3 hours to do an oil change?? I would give 0 stars if I could. Took my car in yesterday at 10:30 am for an oil change and a flat tire. They said it would be ready in a hour and a half and said they would call when it was ready. I called back at 12:30pm and they said they needed 30-45 more minutes for the oil change. They said the tire had already been patched. I came back at 1:10pm to see if my car was ready. They said they still needed to do the oil change and my car was up next. I didn't end up leaving here until 3pm. During the 2 hours that I was here, I asked multiple times for an update and even said if they didn't yet start the oil change, it was fine and I was ready to go and would get it another day. They said they needed 15 more minutes. I waited 30 until it was ready. I left thinking that everything had been fixed. Woke up this morning to my tire still being flat and oil all over my garage. Came back to have them fix everything for a second time. They said they did not fix the tire WHICH WAS THE MAIN REASON I CAME IN, IN THE FIRST PLACE. Paid $60 for an oil change that ended up all over my garage. Do not bring you car here unless you want to leave with it being more fucked up than what you came in with. read more

I called ahead of time on Friday September 1st, and asked specifically if they had time to do an oil change, the guy who I talked to said yeah come by all cheery. I get there and the two men at the front counter ignore me for two minutes and then this short olive skinned man goes what do you need, in the most rude and dismissive tone I've ever heard! Had an appointment at 9am. Said it would take 2-2 1/2 hours to do brakes. Four hours later and they're still not done. When I asked how much longer I got an attitude. When checking in, I asked them to check the fan belt they replaced in July, it started squealing. When I asked if he tightened it the mechanic said no. I said it says on the form to check it. Please head my warning and NEVER do business here!! I asked for a semi synthetic oil change, after looking at paperwork once service was completed and check engine came on saw that they gave me a regular oil change. Then the car started leaking oil and I took it back because it had never leaked before the oil change. They told me I need all kinds of work done it, thankfully I didn't have the thousands of dollars they wanted me to shell out. I brought the vehicle home and it hasn't leaked since. Now my son took my daughters car there after I told all my kids not to do business there (he forgot). They are saying the car has an oil plug that doesn't belong to the car and if we want them to go ahead and it gets damaged it will cost over $800 to fix. They were the last ones to change the oil in the vehicle. The manager there Todd seems really nice at first but if you call him out on something he becomes a real jerk and kept putting me on hold. I came to this location a week ago for a F/L tire repair, rotation and balance. When I went to pick up the vehicle the person at the front didn't even look at the paperwork just handed me my key. I saw something was on the back of the work order so I asked what they wrote and he said I needed two axle boots. I asked if the flat repair was done and he said yes so I then asked what was found in the tire and he shrugged his shoulders and said I don't know. I wasn't too happy with his response so I took my key and left. I get in my car and there is a big hand print grease stain on the inside of my car and now it says my R/R tire is low. I didn't have time to wait so I called big o and the guy who answered the phone said I must have picked up another nail. I said a nail from you guys pulling it out of the shop and he said nothing. I know it's the same time because my F/L wheel had a scrape on it and now that same wheel is on the R/R. I waited a week to post because I emailed the owner Tony Williams but he never responded. This location always screw me over every time I set an appointment to fix my car. Last time all I needed was to patch my tire that was leaking and it took 3 hours. Now I set an appointment for my alignment and they said it'll take 5 hours for it! It's ridiculous! DO NOT GO HERE. These people aren't honest. I haven't used Big O in decades because of terrible and rude service. I went in today because I overfilled my engine oil causing it to smoke and needed some drained which untimely lead to an oil change. This was the only place open on holiday. First I was sold a credit card which I declined. Then I was told all ballers use credit cards, ok no thank you, I just need an oil change. Then I was told all my fluids better be filled when Big O checks them. OK, but is that a requirement for an oil change? I asked how long it would take for the oil change. 1-1/2 hours I was told. I sign a paper with the oil change cost and was giving a general checklist of what extra needs to be done on my make and model car. I get ready to leave with a ride I arranged and realized I hadn't been given a receipt or anything related to what I signed or that I left my car at Big O. I go back in to get some kind of receipt and was told nobody ever asks for that, what do you want a print out? I state yes. They give me one. At the top of the paper work it states car would be ready at 5 pm. Mind you it 9:30 am in the morning when I drop my car off. By my calculations that's not 1-1/2 hours for an oil change like I was verbally told. The guy then says we have cameras everywhere. OK, that protects you not me. I return 2 hours later and my car hasn't been moved. I go in and ask if my car is ready and was asked Did we call you? Nobody ever said they would call me, only said my car would be ready in 1-1/2 hours. The guy now tells me it will be ready in 10 mins. 10 mins pass and I go get my key and car without it ever being serviced. Save yourself a headache, time and I'm sure money and go somewhere better. read more

Big O Tires in South Mountain on Baseline damaged my van's body, denied it (even though their own security pictures prove it), stopped communication, and is stonewalling me. Prior to this, had my van in FIVE times for same break issue. And, on same visit where they damaged my van, they overfilled oil. Big O Ripoff is more like it! Took my money, left me with damaged van. Terrible customer service locally and on national level. Guess our only recourse is to take them to court which is ridiculous over something that is obviously their fault. UPDATE: It took numerous attempts to get Corporate to keep telling us the same thing, which is that the franchise at this location will not provide us video evidence of the visit. This is clearly because they are lying or too lazy. Prior to this visit, we paid them almost $3K for work. Now we are left with at least that much on top in damages. Thieves! I called into the store at 408pm asking if they were able to complete an oil change. The gentleman replied "yes, we have plenty of daylight out". I proceeded to drive in. When arriving to the counter at 435 pm. I asked for an oil change the man at the counter said they couldn't because they were busy. When I asked who I talked to on the phone and the gentleman that I know I was on the phone with sounded just like him. He replied I don't know, I know he's the man on the phone because he said there was no other advisors or managers here everyone else that I saw were technicians. Which 3/5 were sitting in the back. This tire store has process problems. My husband brought this car up on a Saturday for an oil change and tire inspection. I had ran some errands and called him up on my way home to see where he was at. He informed me that he was still at Big O Tires Store four hours later. I asked him why the oil change took so long and he responded that the employees were not helpful. Only after five hours of sitting here was my husband informed that there was a courtesy vehicle, which was not offered to my husband until the very end. Even after all of that, Big Tires did not inspect his tires. After asking why, the assistant manager told him to bring his car back on Monday since they were about to close. We came back Monday and checked in at 5:00 pm. They told his tires would be inspected and fixed. We said great and went to the gym while they were supposed to fix his car. They told us that was fine and to be back by 7:00 pm. We arrived back at Big O Tires at 6:45 pm only to notice that his car was in the exact same place that we had left it. My husband goes to the front desk to see the situation only to be told that they did not work on his car and to call the manager if he has an issue. Come on, Big O Tires! Do better!! read more

This place is dishonest. I purchase tires and a wheel alignment 6 months ago. Last week I had to replace the two front tires. They were completely destroyed. Even though the wheel alignment was paid 6 months ago the new tires were destroyed. This time they claimed I need a cam and caster bolt kit to do the wheel alignment. I wanted to save money and time, by getting my oil change here (instead of at my dealership). It turned out more expensive and more time-consuming! They add on some kind of a "shop supplies" hidden fee (which wasn't quoted up front). The guy who helped me initially was respectful and friendly, but told me I need a synthetic oil (which is the most expensive). I looked it up while waiting for my car, and the price was too high, plus I didn't even need a synthetic oil (most expensive). I said something (and also about the hidden "shop supplies fee") to another technician (I think his name was Jose M.) made me feel like I don't know anything, since I'm a woman. In a condescending and patronizing tone, he said that dealership would charge me the same. He proceeded to call my dealership (there was a full waiting room and about 4 other guys who work there), and very loudly said something like: "see, we charge you the same as your dealership".. I just gave up and paid the expensive price, since they made me look like I'm a woman who doesn't know things. The whole point of coming here was to save money, not to be charged more! At least my dealership treats me with respect, has a much better customer service, and a free car wash! read more

I have been coming here for 9 years. In the past they have always been super friendly and as quick and the detailed as should be expected.... Until this weekend. I got a slow leak that we didn't notice till we were at the grocery store. We put fix a flat in and when we got home changed the tire to the spare and took the car to Big O. We had just purchased the tire there a little over a year ago and had added the $10 3 year protection plan. They took the tire out of the trunk and sent me on my way. I got a call just before closing on Saturday night saying it was ready and I opted to pick up the tire in the morning. Today I went by around 10am and expected a wait. It is Sunday after all. The compressor was broken. Okay, no big deal. 2 hours later it was fixed. So I thought "okay now you can put the tire on and I'll be on my marry" nope. An hour an a half and 2 episodes of Grimm later I was finally able to get my car back. The entire time paying customers came and went. I was never provided with an update or ETA. This place is ridiculous. They take at least 4 hours to do an oil change and we even had an appointment set for it but this isn't the only problem. Getting your tires changed also takes forever and then they do the alignment wrong so we have to go back. Not only is their service the worst but they are also overpriced and the couches in the wait room during the summer time are full with ants.
