Stopped here on a whim for lunch while out shopping and we were very pleasantly surprised. Food was great & the portion sizes were good. The standout items for us were the big honkin' pretzel, the spinach and artichoke dip, and the amaretto sour. The spinach and artichoke dip especially was incredible. The service was great, food came relatively fast (although we were basically the only ones in the place), and we had basically no complaints. The only real downside is the prices, however it's definitely worth it if you want some good food that's higher quality without being super fancy. All in all, while it is a bit pricey, this place is great and I definitely recommend going. read more

Hostess stand is in the middle of the restaurant, which was awkward to figure out. It took more than 15 minutes for a waitress to come to our table. She actually showed up just as my wife and I were getting up to leave. We asked to get salads before our meals, but they came out with the meals for some weird reason. I had the brisket, which was pretty good. However, the Mac and cheese was super bland and not worth the calories. The roasted potatoes left a puddle of oil, and while the seasoning on them was good, they were cut so big that flavor only lasted a brief amount of time and then I was just left with a mouthful of potato. We also had to ask twice to get the check, as the first time the waitress walked away without acknowledging us. I also had to move plates around to sign the bill because plates were never cleared. This might be an odd criticism, but the decor was non-existent. It was just gray walls with nothing on them. Did this restaurant just open up or something? All in all, it was a wasted night out and I was super bummed because I had heard great things. read more

Big Phil took over the TGIFridays at the Coventry mall. Did a really nice job on the renovation. Small menu and super sweet servers. They start you with a bottle of water which makes me so happy. Sandwiches come with fries or any of the other sides at no extra charge. Grilled cheese was on crisp and buttery sourdough. The thin smear of fig jam was a sweet accent. Not at all overpowering as my partner had feared. I opted for the sesame green beans cause I get my veggies when I can. Nicely done, a little char, tender with a light savory Asian glaze. Partner's pot pie was a creamy herb sauce with a punch of black pepper. Good amount of tender and tasty chicken, carrot coins, celery and onion. Phil had posted the recipe for the chocolate cake on Facebook. So I had to try it. They also had a variety of cheesecakes. It's as delicious as it looks. Not sure why they call it Phil's. Heard his mom was responsible for the cake and pot pie. Looking forward to our next visit. read more

We have had lunch here twice before and enjoyed it! We tried brunch this weekend, their first time offering it I believe. There were plenty of things to try out and we enjoyed most of what we sampled. We felt the food could be warmer, the quiche was actually cold. I would have liked to have tried it hot like it should be. We thought bagels should have been offered, but then I guess you'd need a toaster too. I LOVED the french toast! So gooey and delicious! My husband really enjoyed the omelet station and he said the guy was very personable. I feel that juice should be included in the buffet. A glass of OJ was $5.50 and it wasn't fresh squeezed. Had my husband known that before, he would not have ordered it. I was really hoping to see more of "Phil's Mom's" desserts! Like cake, pie, all the yummy things I see on Facebook, but just sticky buns and fruit. The pudding parfait was yummy. Overall we had a good experience, with some things I hope will change if they decide to have more brunches. We would give it another try. read more

My fiancé and I came here for dinner on a Saturday night. Despite being busy, we had excellent service and food. The atmosphere was great as well! Person seating people was very rude and unprofessional, he got $.0 for a tip My waitress however was exceptional. They were out of a few things on the menu that I was interested in, had to opt for fettuccini Alfredo. I thought $18 for about 1/2 lb of pasta was steep the meal came with a side of garlic ciabatta that was small and overdone; that being said the chocolate cake I had was excellent won't be returning anytime soon read more

We were a party of 5, the fish and chips were recommended, so 4 of us ordered that, I am a fan of fish and chips, but these were awful, heavily breaded and fish was slimy, almost seemed that it wasn't fully cooked, none of us liked it and we didn't finish it. The 5th person got a chicken sandwich that was too salty . Even the ketchup for the fries was nasty, as was the tartar sauce, we told the waitress and she came back and offered free dessert and left the plates of half eaten fish in front of us, until we asked for them to be removed, service was subpar, it was disappointing since we had people visiting.We will not be returning, what a waste of money. Tried out this new place for dinner tonight. So glad we did! The staff was friendly & welcoming, especially Big Phil. The food was delicious. Good sized portions & reasonable prices. The cheesecake was sooo good! Phil told us his mom makes all the desserts from scratch! It's great to have a hometown guy starting up a business at the Coventry Mall. Used to be TGI Friday's. New bright star in the Pottstown suburbs. Food is simple but of excellent quality and the atmosphere is very upbeat and fun. Started with a couple of take out dinners to test the waters and then stopped in on an early Saturday evening. Live band, they were really good, service is excellent & friendly, and in spite of being a bit understaffed and running out of a couple key dishes, they made up for it with everything else they do. Lunch at Big Phil's this week was delicious and enjoyable is every way. The food here is really good! My Turkey club was exceptionally flavorful with house made turkey. And such a generous portion that I was only able to enjoy one half there, but brought the other half home. Fries that came with the sandwich were also exceptional. Leave room for dessert! The lemon cheesecake with fresh blueberry sauce was fresh and lovely. One of the best I have ever tasted. The space is comfortable and inviting and service friendly and efficient. We were a party of 4 and we all thought our meals were outstanding. I really enjoyed that the pork tenderloin came with two vegetables, broccoli rabe and sautéed mushrooms, rather than the usual vegetable and starch. The pork was tender and flavorful with an amazing glaze/sauce drizzled over top. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. After golf we popped in and sat at the bar. They actually have a decent by the glass wine list you don't find in Pottstown! Yay! Finally! I got the burger, yum! Been here twice, food isn't great, service is slow. Not enough staff and Big Phil is aloof to put it kindly.

Came here once and got the dip sandwich. Was less than impressed as the meat was chewy not tender. But decided to try again because the chicken sandwich options looked interesting. I was so wrong. The chicken was dry and disappointing. Service was also subpar. Our server gave us ice for the water as if it was coming from her own personal supply. Two stars are all for the French fries which were nice and crispy. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place! We sat in the bar area so we could watch the Sixers and although they lost- we still had a wonderful time. Both Kayla and Phil's customer service is through the roof. The best part is that they offer industry day on Monday's! All appetizers and mixed drinks are 50% off! My boyfriend and I both work in the service industry and that is how we met! So enjoying dinner at a restaurant that recognizes our hard work made celebrating our anniversary even better! Besides the appetizers (that were incredible) we had the New York dip and the grilled cheese! So many great choices on this menu!! Band was playing - heard them as soon as we walked in the building. Loud and not great sounding. Tried to sit on bar to eat but it was so ridiculously loud in there that there was no way we were going to be able to enjoy our meal. We left. read more

I've spent a lot of time at the mall when it was thriving and I can honestly say Big Phil's is the best place that mall has ever had. The atmosphere is awesome, everyone is friendly and it's great to actually see Phil and talk to him. You can tell he takes a really hands on role and it's always great to see that with an owner. Food is great, their cocktails are really good as well. Friday/Saturday nights they always have good music too. Great place to hang out for a game, great place for dinner or come out and party when a band is there. All around it's my favorite bar hands down. read more

Ordered onion ring burger off Grubhub. Got here 10 minutes earlier than it said it would, and came in a box I would say is more fancy than most restaurants. Burger was cooked well, and the apple butter on top of it was amazing. The flavors of the apple butter and Muenster cheese blended together for an amazing burger. 10/10 would eat again!! Decided to try this place for my birthday and was totally disappointed. My wife ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and at $18 for pasta and burnt garlic bread not worth it. This place was awesome. The GPS takes you to the CVS but the restaurant is located to the right of Gabe's so just make sure you drive towards the shopping mall. There's some cute outdoor seating as well. I got the sea scallops and my boyfriend got the chicken Alfredo which was a spin on jerk chicken and so delicious. Our waitress recommended the Pisco cocktail which is made with egg whites...don't be discouraged by the egg whites it was literally amazing and you couldn't even tell. The owner came around to the tables and you could tell he was passionate about the food, drinks, and experience that everyone has there.
