Me and three of my girlfriends came here while vacationing in South Beach. Initially we had no idea why it was called 'Big Pinks' but we learned quickly once we walked in and saw the huge (and I do mean HUGE) portions they served here. Upon seeing the food portions we decided that three of the four of us would share one meal. We ordered the French Toast with a side of turkey bacon. And mimosas for the entire table. The food was PHENOMENAL and the mimosas, while not as big as I would have liked, were quite strong and have me a bit of a buzz so no complaints there. Even with three people sharing one plate, we still weren't able to finish our food. We came in hungover and seriously starving and left feeling super rejuvenated and super satiated. Overall Big Pinks was a great experience and it will definitely be amongst my 'must-visit' places for each subsequent trip. And that's a promise!!! I have a very mixed review, and am giving three stars because I really liked the food but I have a big issue with them not giving me what I'm willing to pay for (more on that below). I went to Big Pink last night with my girlfriend and another couple. I've heard great things and they have a few of my favorite menu items from Prime 112 for was less money and much less of a scene, so I thought I'd try it out. The food we ate was very tasty and our waitress did the best she could given the mistakes the kitchen made. First, the bad notes. I was eyeing the specialty burgers but couldn't decide between two: Fire Rescue Burger (jalapeno poppers, pepper jack, bacon and sriracha) and the Public Works (bacon, cheddar, fried egg and a hash brown). Both sounded great, and I had the great idea to ask for the Public Works but to add the jalapeno poppers. I asked the waitress and offered to pay extra, but she told me she was instructed by management that the jalapeno was only for that specific burger and she was told by her manager to not allow the addition. To me this is a big no no in the service industry. It's not as if I were asking them to pull beans out of chili or something and I offered to pay for it as well. For me, a restaurant that has this type of policy cannot be a 5-star. Next, when our meal came, only three of the four dishes ordered came out. The missing dish was for my girlfriend, a salad with steak. While we were waiting for her salad, I cut into my burger and it was way over done. I had ordered it medium rare and it came cooked through and all black on the inside. The steak salad finally came, and that steak was also ordered medium rare but it came out very burnt. Both the salad and the burger were sent back. The burger came back and it was delicious. I was very surprised at how quickly the were able to get it back out. The salad was another story. Everyone at the table, including me with my new burger, were done eating and the salad still wasn't out. It finally came, and my girlfriend didn't want it anymore (about 30 minutes later) so we sent it back and they took the salad and one appetizer off the bill which I think was a great way to handle it. The good notes. The food was very, very good. We had a chicken and waffles dish for appitizer which is substantially similar to the one served at Prime 112. This was great and I would come back just for this dish. My burger was also very tasty. The desserts really are where Big Pink excels. I highly recommend the chocolate and peanut butter s'more souffle. Overall, I will give Big Pink because I really like the food, but their policy of not letting me pay for what I want should probably be reconsidered. It's little things like this that can turn a community off to a restaruant if the food or service slips once or twice. read more

The portion was outrageously huge, enough so that I had to bring half of it back to my hotel for the next day. That being said, it took forever for our server to come out with the delicious food- kind of disappointing because we weren't a big crowd. OMG!!! I, LOVE LOVE LOVE BIG PINK!!!!! The food is amazingly GOOD and in very LAARGE quantities. The Big Pink is great after an afternoon of drinks, sun and beach. The food is basic finger foods and they also have TV dinners that are delish. MY favorite is the Crabcake and the Pulled Pork sandwich. In all fairness, I feel I must go here again just to see if what I was feeling was really real. This was my experience: First off I wasn't feeling very well. I had a splitting headache and thought food would cure my nausea and thumbing head. My friend and I enter and ask for a table, only to be met by a big man with a bigger attitude. After huffing and puffing his way to our seats, he tells us the waiter will be to us soon. Soon turned into a while and we even had to ask Mr. Stink Guy if we had been forgotten about. A large table of folks who were seated after us actually got served before we even had our order taken. The soccer game was on so the restaurant was really loud with sports watchers. I wouldn't have cared otherwise, except for the massive headache. We ordered guacamole as appetizers and for the price, they could have kept their little saucers of guac and salsa. It was really just a huge plate of nachos. The French toast, however, were really good and plentiful. That's was the best think about the place for me. The waitress wasn't attentive. Another waiter kept weaving in and out between our tables, which meant his behind kept grazing our plates. Nasty. I need utensils for my French toast and waited too long for them. I think the busboy actually had to ask Mr. Stink Guy for permission to give me a set. Then when it was time to pay, our waitress was MIA. So while the food was damn good and the portions were huge, the service ruined it for me. Better luck next time. read more

However the woman working the closing shift that answered the phone on 8/10/14 is a total BITCH and has the worst customer service of any dining establishment in all of South Florida. She is manipulative, rude and sarcastic. She needs a serious wake up call. I was in Miami and I wanted a place for dessert, but it was midnight already and we had just left South Beach, so yelped and ended up with Big Pink. Overall, it was a decent experience. First off, the menu that they presented was huge, literally. There are easily 200ish items on the menu and the size of the menu was larger than the front page of a newspaper. I ordered the New York Cheesecake and I do have to say, it was a little bit of heaven. Quite a large piece served up with a dollop of whipped cream. Creamy, but not runny and a nice toasted top layer. I'd get it again in a heartbeat. My friend got the New Orleans' Bread Pudding and from the little that was left on his plate, I'd say he did enjoy it. After completing it, he did say that it was a great dessert as well. The atmosphere was pretty good. I did feel like I was in Brooklyn for a little bit and expected a subway to scoot by at some point. The wait staff was a varied mix of characters. Nice, but interesting. So, if you're in South Beach and are looking for a menu that will please everyone in your crowd or are looking for something late night on the weekends (they are open until 0530), then this is a place for you. read more

After a disappointing meal at Joe's, we wandered into this establishment on Christmas Day. Our server was very friendly and the atmosphere here was laid back, family friendly and diner-like. The portions are HUGE. My husband had the 1/2 bbq chicken with corn bread and fries. My son and I split a Kobe beef burger with bacon and egg. The food was delicious. Is also the best spot to go and grab a bite after a game as some of the players frequent the spot. Boyfriend and I went here twice during our first time stay in Miami. Convenient and open 24 hrs! The breakfast is good not amazing but good. HUGE portions and reasonably priced. Don't let the line fool you, took us 10-15 minutes to get seated. It definitely gets packed in here though. We waited along the sides inside the place and we felt like we were in the way of everyone. Second time we went was for dessert. Dessert was Meh and pretty pricey so I suggest going somewhere else for that. read more

Big Pink should be called Big Problem. My friends and I were visiting Miami and thought this place would be a fun experience. WRONG. It started off okay. We got seated right away, but the server took a long time just to give us water. The menu was overwhelming, so when we asked for recommendations he just said "everything is good." That wasn't very helpful. We eventually made our decisions and ordered food and drinks. The food took such a long time to arrive. It was good, but nothing special to be honest. At the end of the meal, if you are in a group (ours was a group of three), there was no way to pay per entree. The way their system worked had to be divided evenly for some reason. The system they used was some sort of self pay where they bring the card reader to the table and expect you to know how to use it. We thought it was fine until we ended up paying different amounts. My goodness, I have never sobered up so fast! When we asked our server for assistance, he didn't know how to fix it. It turns out we overpaid about $15 INCLUDING 18% gratuity. So someone else came to help. She voided the original payment and gave the card reader back to start over. It was still not dividing in even amounts. UNTIL THEN did she say that the system they use doesn't work. How were we suppose to know that to begin with? They were okay having us about to leave and overpay. She had such an attitude with us, and didn't apologize for the inconvenience. I asked for the itemized receipt, as well as the voided receipt. She said that they don't provide the voided one, just to check our bank accounts in a few days. When I did, the full amount was not returned to me or my friends. They still kept about $10. This place is causing more stress and frustration even after we left the restaurant. Overall this is a place I will never come back to or recommend to anyone. The food isn't special. I couldn't agree more with Jane L. It's one of those places that you think to yourself "Aww, I would totally come here for brunch with my girls every weekend if I lived in Miami Beach." The salads were fresh, but somewhat uninspired. I'm obsessed with granola, so I order it whenever I go to a "cute brunch place," hoping for rolled oats tossed with cranberries, honey, pumpkin seeds, etc. Here, I got the 1.99$/lb granola from the bulk food aisle at Whole Foods. My best friend came into town from Cali and after picking him up really early with some friends we made a random beach run since he had missed the miami ocean. After frolicking along the beach, we were hungry for breaky and one of the group suggested big pink. it was near by and he said it was good. It was ok. nothing wow. nothing amazing, like he hyped up. It was a place to eat and thats about it. Nothing memorable. my sausage was way over cooked and my friends eggs were way under done. Perks of this restaurant are that it is right near the beach and you can sit outside. The food is mediocre brunch food with the longest menu I have ever seen. "Something for everyone" is putting it mildly. We had the brioche french toast and the hollywood breakfast with polenta fries (not fully understanding what "polenta fries" were - it's good to know that they are 4 thick cuts of fried polenta with an egg on top). I would get something completely different next time - I didn't love either but they were definitely not bad. read more

Men and food are always great here. There are 2 things though that keep it from 5 star rating...parking and our latest experience with the service. Parking is self-explanatory. I would have been better if I stopped at the grocery store and made pizza bagels in my hotel microwave. Ordered the shrimp pizza. Came here excited to try a yummy breakfast as per some of the reviews. The waiter was nice and we were seated immediately and given our drinks promptly. Everything went downhill from there. We gave our drink and food order at the same time (pancake combo breakfast and brioche French toast). It took over 45 minutes to get our food! And the restaurant was basically empty. We were puzzled as to why it was taking so long. Once the food finally came, it was absolutely disgusting and cold. The French toast basically tasted like thick dry bread. Bacon was over cooked. The pancakes had a weird and unappetizing texture. When we spoke to the manager, he said that the brioche French toast is "the worst thing on the menu and he doesn't recommend it to anyone"... A place that can cause food envy for sure! Breakfast was fantastic. Their omelets are ridiculously huge--like 5 eggs huge. But they do egg whites too (thanks!) and that is served with a massive pile of breakfast potatoes and toast. You could share this plate, but it's a really good deal (esp with miami prices) for only ten bucks. If I were to say what I was most jealous of on others' plates, that would appear to be the french toast. They get an extra star for good coffee and outdoor seating...but that's probably a must anywhere down here. I've driven by this place many times, and always wanted to stop but never did. So after work on a Wednesday, stopped by to have a Big Pink, Sweet Potato Fries and a ice cold beer. First the parking was great! right across the street, metered parking... I know this does not exist on the weekends. LOL That's why I'm here a weeknight after work. Ok I get in the Big Pink and it is deem, no a better word is dark, and I was sitting by the front windows. So I had to use my BlackBerry for light to right the huge menu. Even though I already knew what I was going to order. Big Pink, SP Fries, and a beer. The burger was good, juicy and full of flavor. I asked for it ot be cooked Medium and got it well done. ( it's a rule I have... don't send your food back to the kitcher, EVER! I used to work in restuarants years ago. I know what COULD POSSIBLY happen). LOL The Ranch sauce that can with the burger was supposed to be for the fries but I dip my burger in it. The sauce was good and I don't like Ranch. All in all the buger was good. The Sweet Potatoe Fries can in a tin pale. They were all stuck together and I could not thoroughly enjoy them. Cuz sweet potato fries are one of my favorite things. Big Pink... one word: BIG... everything is MASSIVE at the Big Pink... the portions are just out of control- no wonder Americans are called obese. This place basically makes you fat by looking at the food and not even eating it. The food is also pretty tasty so you want to eat your whole plate even though the size of the portions is about 2x your average plate at any other breakfast diner. My girlfriends and I came here the day after our night on the town for my bach party/birthday celebrations. We were all in pretty rough shape to say the least. Jack of all trades food spot, master of none. Hell of a location though which adds to reputation. None of the food selections are terrible, none are excellent. Service is relatively slow for having so much staff - kitchen seems small. Waitstaff is average at best. But in south of fifth area this is a quiet spot to grab non-expensive meals and soak in the SoBe experience - that's what you're buying at Big Pink. Temper your expectations for the food. read more

This is my favorite place for breakfast and everyone goes there after clubs while they drunk and hungry, that's how the restaurant makes most of their profit I guess. Customer service is horrible and management is a joke. I was there yesterday after a club story and was pretty drunk and hungry lol so the waitress took and advantage of me and brought me the wrong order but similar to what I wanted and double charged me and didn't give me receipt. I was waiting for a manager forever and when I finally found him he offered me cup to go for my smoothie after listening what I had to say. Cup to go for smoothie? Not even another cup of smoothie? Servers have nasty attitude and negative vibes and energy. Not sure if they are short stuffed or hate their job but it's not my business. For my 40$ bill that I paid u better give me good service! Everything's bigger in South beach....? Well at least at Big Pink. This has got to be one of my favorite diners of all time. It has the look of a diner merged with a sports bar. So you get your fix of sports highlights and great diner food for breakfast. They do everything in a "big" way, so the menus are the biggest I've ever seen, large cups of coffee...but the food was actually really good too. I got the waffle and scrambled eggs. They were both great. The food isn't awesome, but great for a Saturday morning after a night out. What really makes it is the atmosphere and the fellow hung-overees that join you at the super long tables so you get to meet new people as well. --Highly recommended...a must visit before leaving South Beach. Either for morning brunch or drunk food after the clubs. I experienced it both times and it's great. read more

Big Pink is tough to review because it unfortunately hasn't been as good as I'd hoped the last few times I visited the place. Pros: The portions are huge! The burgers are pretty good (although the ventnor pizza burger has been pretty "meh" the last few times I ordered it). Also the fresh cut potato chips are amazing as are the fresh french fries! Cons: As stated above, the pizza burger has been pretty crappy the last few times I visited (maybe its time to switch it up and get something new). Bottom Line: This place has a massive menu and I'm fairly certain you'll be able to find at least one good thing to eat on the menu. There's more good than bad here, so hit it up when you're in S. Best Waffles ever! Been here twice. Once 4 years ago after a morning of dancing, my friend and I asked the bouncer coming out of the club where do people grab something to eat around here, and he suggested "Big Pinks." Love it then, and LOVE it now. Went again this past Monday, again after a morning of dancing. Several years later, the waffles are still perfect. Seriously perfectly crispy on the outside, and thoroughly cooked through with great flavor. FRESH Strawberries were perfect, they even seem sweeter than the syrup on the waffles. Scrambles eggs were cooked perfectly as well. Lastly the coffee was a true delicious life line that perked us right up again so we can hit the beach which was down the block. We sat outside on a beautiful day, it was a perfect after club/bar/partying diner. Not sure about anything else on the menu. Both times I've been here with friends we all ordered breakfast, not one complaint from anyone. If you go, definitely order the waffles, no one makes them better. read more

One hit wonders have their place in this world, but the Big Pink has stood the test of time, always producing hits! I never get tired of the cheesy atmosphere and the staff is always beyond friendly. I've eaten here several times over the last couple of years from breakfast/brunch to late night snacks and have never been disappointed. I recently had the French toast for dinner, forgetting that all portions are mammoth size and they were so good I tried my hardest to finish them all. I love the mix of people from tourists to locals and the unstuffy atmosphere. It's a great fun place to take visitors and the menu covers a wide range to please everyone! read more
