My go-to is the spicy stir fried squid meal box - while you can chose individual sides of your preference , I definitely recommend going with the daily banchan for $4.50, as 2 sides are worth $4. I've also tried the pork ribs meal box and the spicy chicken, both of which are tasty, as well. My only complaint is that it's not closer to my home! When we went there were quite a few other groups eating, so it was a bit loud. Overall though, very clean and inviting. We ordered two meal boxes, one with spicy squid and one with galbi. For sides we got the tteokbokki, japchae, dumplings, and the cheese corn. We also got the soup of the day. The galbi was great in both flavor and cook, but the squid was a little on the chewier side... Tteokbokki was fried which was a first, but tasted great! Japchae was simple which is good, not too sweet. Fried Dumplings were not oily. The cheese corn was good, very mayo in flavor. Nothing came out cold, and it stayed pretty warm due to the metal trays. Soup of the Day contained sprouts and fish, it was very light and delicious. We missed the water dispenser at first, but there is one. The tea was good, very hot so the ice machine (which is a part of the water dispenser) is helpful. Unfortunately we also missed the place to place trays, which now reading through other reviews I believe is located near the utensils? My friend and I had seen this all over social media and decided to go check it out on our day off to celebrate galentines day. Upon entering we were surprised by such a cute and cozy spot! Drinks you would grab from the cooler and order at the counter. They have the menu on display along with a self service kiosk. It was my first time having had to pay for kimchi (well, any banchan actually) as a side dish, and even then, the kimchi wasn't to my preference (it's more sour than expected, not spicy, and not the level of fresh I like), which is fine, but made it all the more difficult to come to a rating. And I've eaten here a handful of times already! In the end, the food here is fresh, delicious, and generously portioned. If I ignore the kimchi, I'm pretty happy with everything else. There's only one person entering orders, but there usually isn't much of a line. Once an order is placed, you can choose to sit wherever and get your own utensils. They have water and hot barley tea (so happy about this), though they aren't placed nearby each other. They'll bring the food to you, and you'll put the tray away in the designated area near the utensils. All in all, a great place for lunch, though on the pricier side. Fried rice a bit disappointing (it's basically rice with soy sauce) but it was fine. The spicy chicken was tasty, the portions were large, dumplings and salad good too. But for a korean restaurant, they don't give you any banchan (side dishes). I think you have to order it and pick 5. I wouldn't mind if it were 9.95 but I'm paying 16.95 for chicken (up charge on any other meat) and I don't even get a little kimchi? The same meal at other korean places give you unlimited banchan. Just for that, my impression is 3 stars. Not sure if I will go back and pay the same prices but get no kimchi. read more

The folks running this small, well-decorated, clean restaurant are friendly and helpful, recommending good things for "first time visitors" to try. You order at the counter and they bring your food. All the drinks are in a refrigerator nearby, but hot tea is complementary and self-serve. We decided on meal boxes (as recommended) with 2 sides each. I ordered the spicy pork with brown rice on the recommendation of the young woman assisting us. And I chose kimchi and japchae as my sides. My husband ordered the spicy tofu with steamed rice plus sautéed vegetables and fried veggie potstickers. He got a Diet Coke and I decided to have filtered water. The mailboxes came out looking beautiful (see pictures) and they tasted wonderful as well. Both dishes were spicy and the rice was a good compliment with them. The kimchi delighted my husband, but was a little vinegary for me. I enjoyed the Jeep though it was light on sauce. The salad which came with the meal box was excellent! The vegetables and the dumplings were both wonderful. This place might miss out on some customers simply because of the name, but the sign near the street shows that it is Korean barbecue, so I hope they will get all the business they deserve! read more

It is in the same shipping center as lobster banh mi. I love this lunch box concept with various options for meat. I ordered kalbi, the octopus and bibimbap. You can get some sauces on the side and the bull sauce definitely adds an extra spice if you are brave! The food was well packed and they are delicious! The kalbi is my favorite. Tender beef grilled to perfection. Banchan of the day gives you lots of variety and the dressing for the salad is so refreshing. The brown rice is so fluffy too! The bibimbap was packed with vegetables, beef and also very tasty. My friend tried to grilled kalbi herself and she started ordering here instead because they do such a good job and the prices are fair (they have large orders available).
