Vanilla with sprinkles in a cone
    Angie M.

Went there for the first time alone and really enjoyed the vanilla and sprinkles! Went back with my husband and tried the matcha with strawberry shortcake crumbs and it was amazing! Fireworks in my mouth! The staff was pretty patient with us since we had way to many questions at time so I appreciate that. The seating was open and there was back outside seating that was well kept.

Vegan chocolate cream in a cup! Greeted with a smile the menu with options .. a smaller cold stone vibe. They have vegan sprinkle options for your ice cream cone. Reasonable pricing.

My top recommendation for all ice cream lovers visiting the ATL!! Absolutely love the creativity in Big Softie's flavors and toppings. Special props to their vegan flavors - this makes lactose intolerance a little bit better. Must get the dip tops - they really add to the experience. Cute storefront, but always busy (be prepared)!

This was my second time visiting Big Softie and I was honestly low key excited to come back but after this visit I am not really sure why. Nothing stood out to me this time as far as the ice cream or the toppings. I went with vanilla ice cream topped with a chocolate hard shell and cookie pieces, I think it was cookie not brownie, but either way it just was not good. The chocolate shell did not taste great and the overall flavor combination fell flat. It is not a place I would probably return to when I am craving good ice cream. I would not say it is bad but it just does not do it for me. For someone who likes more unique or interesting flavors this may be worth trying since I did enjoy the matcha on my first visit, but overall I was not super impressed this time around.

    Hello sundae

My friends and I came here for a sweet treat after a long day of adventures. They were open relatively late on a Saturday night, so we were grateful for all the parking and for the kind staff that welcomed us. We were able to enjoy our ice cream at the café connected next-door as opposed to outside where it was getting a little chilly. Menu is on the smaller side but you can do a few preset swirl options combinations. I got to share their Hello sundae special which was a pretty straightforward sundae. Would like to come again and try some other other flavors!

How cute is this place???? I've had this on my ice spot list for a minute now and finally decided to try it out. I was able to find parking in a lot behind Maepole and took a nice stroll down to Big Softie which sits just next to Little Tart. Apparently I timed my visit perfectly because when I arrived there was only two folks in front of me but I happened to turn around and within 2 minutes of my arrival, an additional 8 folks magically appeared behind me. The young lady who helped me at the counter was super sweet and when I asked for some suggestions since it was my first time there, she kindly offered them and let me know some of her favorites. I kept it simple and got some good ol' classic vanilla with sprinkles (because who wouldn't) and choco coookie crumble. One thing to note is they do not have to go lids but they can put a cup over your treat if you aren't eating it right away (yes my sister made fun of me for not eating it right away). Ohhhh my goodness. Such a yummy, creamy, not too sweet treat. I absolutely loved it. Now you'll pay a pretty penny but I meannnn it was a Friday so why not party??!!! Definitely looking forward to my next visit and my next creation!

Not as creamy as a dairy-based soft serve but pretty darn good. As someone who regrets dairy every time I have it, I was happy to see how many non-dairy flavors were available. Definitely trying the vegan oat vanilla next time. They have swirl options and lots of toppings Price is fair!

Delicious!! It's a small space with no seating so be prepared to take your ice cream to go. We did a vanilla with cookie crumble then the special which was vanilla with blackberry syrup, cornflake crumble and fresh lime zest and OMG it was incredible. The ice cream itself is so smooth and creamy but the toppings really make it the perfect stop. Unique and yummy. Highly recommend!

The area Big Softie is located in is so cute and quaint! I was told by several of my coworkers to try this place and get the cornflakes streusel, which did not disappoint. It was not crowded when we went and the staff members were nice and efficient. You will find their flavor selection not overwhelming which is what I prefer. I had vanilla ice cream on a sugar cone with the streusel and it was perfect. My hubby had vanilla ice cream with strawberry hard shell in a cup and some peanut type topping. I was not a fan because I prefer to keep it simple but it's good to know they have plenty of options. I will be back Big Softie!

Little soft serve place that has vegan and GF options so everyone can enjoy a lil sweet treat The oat soft serves were a little icy but flavor was good! Not too sweet or heavy which is kinda what you want/ need sometimes the chocolate hard shells were so crispy and added a perfect crunch to the soft serve + homemade cones were crispy and had that super nostalgic ice cream shop taste IG: Spillingthe.beans

Sometimes you just really want a soft serve - when that happens this is the place!! I always get a vanilla with strawberry dip, but I've heard the chocolate is also good. There are a ton of additional toppings, my favorites are the cornflake strudel and the peanut crunch but i don't think you can go wrong. There is often a long line on the weekends but it goes pretty quickly. The staff is friendly and will happily answer questions. There are vegan options of the ice cream and most of the toppings are vegan so bring any dairy free folks with ya to try it out!

This is such a cute little soft serve shop in the heart of the city. The soft serve was extremely delicious and the hard shell is something that you can't not get. I am deducting one star because of the price. It seems that every addition is $1.50 including the hardshell or upgrading to a waffle cone I bought two soft servers and it came out to $15 before tiphowever it was very delicious and I would come back

We are back to Big Softie and as always, still love it so much. The vegan, non-dairy flavors they have are delicious soft serves. You typically don't find that but it'll still even be good for the non-vegan folks!!!

Bland, expensive soft serve. Not worth more than $3 for a regular cone. Save your coins Mr. Softee. Would not recommend.

    Any vegan flavors?

Yes! They have a really, really good vanilla oat flavor that's vegan.

Do most of their cones stop almost as low as the cone?

No, you have the option to get petite or a regular size which reflects the amount of soft serve. Their is only one size of the waffle cone. That's why in some of the cones you see the soft serve isn't piled so high. Get a regular if you want more… Read more

I went on a holiday, which was super busy, but even so, service was prompt and attentive. I ordered a pasaflora to drink, which had a beautiful flower in it, queso blanco with chips, al pastor mushroom tacos, chochoyotes, and flan for dessert. Every single dish was inspired, layered with flavor, creative, and truly unique. The presentation was also lovely and each bite felt thoughtful and well-executed. I would order everything a million times over! One thing that especially stood out was the flan's texture, which was silky, delicate, and perfectly balanced. I was also pleasantly surprised to see fried green tomatoes on the menu. It felt like such a special nod to the restaurant's Southern location, blending regional influence in a really cool way. The owner was super nice, which made the experience even better. The decor is gorgeous and so inviting, with intimate, cozy lighting. The whole space feels clean, artistic, and thoughtfully designed. This is an amazing date-night spot that I truly hope sticks around for a long, loooong time. Everything about the atmosphere and experience makes it perfect for a special evening out. I'm already planning to go back and explore more of the menu, but based on my first visit alone, I might even dare to say this is the best vegan restaurant in Atlanta. The jury's still out, but I'm more than happy to keep doing the research to confirm!! lol Last thing I'll say is that I was so grateful not to have to wade through a bunch of non-vegan menu options to figure I it what I could actually order. I also don't have to wonder if my food was being cooked next to a slab of dead animal, which is not the case most places I go. So, thank you for being ALL vegan. The food is so good that there is no chance a non-vegan will feel they've missed out on meat anyway. Logistical stuff: I saw a little bit of street parking, but not a ton. Parking in the deck is definitely the easiest option. You could theoretically bike/skate the Beltline and just walk a couple of blocks to get there. The space is on the smaller side, so I'd recommend making a reservation to be safe if you're visiting on a Friday/Saturday night.

My order was ready on-time. Parking is ample in a private lot and the process of getting your order via pick-up was so easy. I felt the heft of the food in the bag immediately when I pick it up to deliver up out of it the deliciousness of everything inside. It felt like a heavy plate from the cookout or from Grandma's house after Sunday dinner. This is true food for the soul. I loved the sweet potatoes. I loved the mac and cheese. I loved, loved, LOVED the vegan chicken-like protein. I felt in love with it and the hot sauce that came with it. I was not a fan, in particular, of the collard greens--not because they lacked meat seasoning. They were a little too spicy for my liking. Otherwise, this is good food. It is Black-owned and-operated to my knowledge. Support, eat vegan, and be ye healthy.

You have your choice of wraps, spicy kale, mild kale or you can do a 50/50 blend. The spicy has heat which i love but I'm glad I did the 50/50, it was perfect. There is a free parking lot a few steps away from the business and it's large so you shouldn't have a problem finding parking. I had the south of the border with a chili wrap and all ingredients. I had the half size which was extremely large and enough for two people to share or enough for two days. It's such a beautiful wrap but personally not my favorite. All the ingredients were very fresh but it was something that I just didn't enjoy about it. Maybe it was the Moroccan couscous flavor. I'm willing to try another wrap and will probably go with the OG or Dat Ish. Prices were okay for the serving size you receive. There are tables outside. And the employees were all pleasant.

We got: - Chicken Satay: The chicken itself was so believable, stringy and smoky! And crunchy (though I'm used to satay meat being grilled). The sauce was tasty too- peanut-y, sweet, hint of curry. However, for $8, I'd expect at least 4 skewers. - Shrimp Chow Kway Teow: CKT is one of my favorite noodle dishes ever, and Mamak's version certainly did it justice. The wok hei was so present, the noodles perfectly chewy, and the veggies (snow pea, onion, carrot, bean sprouts) well-cooked. The shrimp was insane, so bouncy and real-feeling. - Olive Fried Rice: Can't say I've ever had olive leaves before, this dish was delightful! Lots of great toppings (tofu, carrot, green bean, mushroom) that gave some textural diversity. - Black Pepper Beef: The black pepper essence was clearly distinguishable, but the sauce was too sweet for me. The beef was truly reminiscent of the actual thing. Lots of tasty veggies again (cauliflower, celery, jicama, carrot, bell pepper). Overall, taste-wise, all of the dishes were great; however, we did not feel portion sizes matched prices. Service could also stand to improve, with regards to attentiveness. To note, the restaurant is self-seating (I wish there was something that said this at the entrance).
