Lord, I finally got a chance to make it in to Soul Vegan/Planted Soul! Their hours had a brother struggling with my schedule and all, but I made it. I ordered via Uber Eats take out today, and it was great. They have a similar set up like Soul Box in the West End, but you will not find tradition meat on the menu. The food is so good. My order was ready on-time. Parking is ample in a private lot and the process of getting your order via pick-up was so easy. I felt the heft of the food in the bag immediately when I pick it up to deliver up out of it the deliciousness of everything inside. It felt like a heavy plate from the cookout or from Grandma's house after Sunday dinner. This is true food for the soul. I loved the sweet potatoes. I loved the mac and cheese. I loved, loved, LOVED the vegan chicken-like protein. I felt in love with it and the hot sauce that came with it. I was not a fan, in particular, of the collard greens--not because they lacked meat seasoning. They were a little too spicy for my liking. Otherwise, this is good food. Three days into the Daniel Fast, I was over eating what I had at home and needed something comforting and filling. After a quick search of the area, I found Soul Vegan @plantedsoulatl was close by. However upon arriving to the address, I see that it's not a physical restaurant but, moreso an incubator for several restaurants; catering to food delivery apps. We'll, I was slightly disappointed because ya girl was HUNGRY! And wanted food asap. Lol. So, I placed an order on @ubereats and headed home. The food was delivered about 10 mins after I got home and I was NOT disappointed. The plate cost around $20 so, I definitely had high expectations. Decided to try this spot while I was in the area. It was just a vibe. We noticed people were coming and going, so I just knew the food would be good. When I got there I placed my order through their app. To my surprise they had and serve multiple restaurants from the location. Honestly, I think it's brilliant ! The plate was packed, stuffed with the side. The Mac n cheese is very good, you can taste the spices. The yams tastes like thanksgiving or Christmas. And the greens, yes lawd, add a little hot sauce and I'd think I made them myself. Chick'n nuggets are seasoned very well. It didn't take long to get the food and everything was contactless. Oyster wings were wonderful, but sauce needs work. Oxtail Pasta didn't have the carrots or peppers that was listed in description but as a pasta dish, pretty decent. Ok... Soul Vegan... or Planted Soul.. you rocked my world. I'm a cheating vegan. I eat meat a couple times per year. I eat Eggs. I'm pretty intolerant to milk. That leads me in a Vegan direction most of the time. You were on my list to try as soon as I got to ATL and you didn't disappoint. I ordered the "Good for the Soul" meal. I spent $60 on Uber eats and I am very disappointed. I ordered good for the soul and vegan oxtails. I tasted good for the soul once before and it was excellent. So I decided to try it again, but this time it was the complete opposite. The cornbread wouldn't even stay together and was less than half of the size of the first time that I experienced it. The vegan oxtail tasted like regular store, mushrooms with no flavor and you can taste burnt pieces of something in the oxtails. The nothing like oxtails to be honest. There was pepper on the macaroni and cheese, and I do not recall it being on it the first time my son complained about it being too spicy this time. He's four years old he would not eat it. I hope that this establishment can correct these issues because this was a terrible experience. read more

I ordered the Good for the soul and as you can see, they didn't even bother to finish cooking my greens, like WTF!!!! The macaroni was okay. The cornbread was delicious and the chick'n didn't taste vegan. I also ordered the chili and it was way too tomato based. It supposedly had vegan grounds but all I saw was beans and all I tasted was tomato sauce. Very disappointed. The Mac could've used a little more seasoning but overall this was very good. I recommend ordering ahead for the first available pickup time. We had to go 2 days in a row because when we tried to order later in the day the first time they were out of food. The lobster in the melt is delicious, as well as the fried shrimp entree. When I got there to pick up my order the sign says check in at the tablets they have on the wall. I go to check in but I can't find soul vegan on the tablet. No one was around to help. I finally saw the security guard and asked him how do I check in. He said he had no clue. Finally the lady at the counter told Me that the tablet check in for the food delivery drivers and that I didn't need to check in. Besides that little fumble the food here was excellent! I've tried this restaurant twice and LOVED IT!! The food is beautifully seasoned and that cornbread perfectly sweetened. I love soul food but not a fan of the lethargy that follows eating it.
