The meat department has horrible service. The workers are rude and not friendly. They will help their friends first while you are waiting with a disable service. I raised a concern with management and it seems like they don't really care they said they are just busy. Overpriced and undervalued service. Stay away I receive a response from my Google review and they said I was miss understood. Unbelievable!!!!! What a shame this used to be our family and friends favorite store , but poor management and lack of service and training this will not be our store any longer. Ignoring a disable person and helping others who didn't wait in line can and will cause issues.... That meat dept will lose many customers for BIG Square. We love the store and have being going for years but that meat dept lack of service and bad management will be the reason none of my family and friends will ever go there again. It's a shame to treat a disable customer bad and say u are misunderstood - I don't think they realize how dangerous that is when it comes to a disabled person. More to come .... read more

I go to the bakery department right by the entrance... standing there is a lady putting bread on the shelves, I ask her for one of the chocolate cakes in the showcase and she says I need to wait for the cashier... OK so I wait and wait. No one in the store. The lady comes out of the back room and looks right at me and goes right to a customer who just walked in. The other customer just walked in and she starts serving her and me and my wife are right in the front waiting to get the cake Hey I guess the $2 bread is more important than a $40 cake This is a horrible place and I would recommend you stay away from this store because the staff seem to have a chip on their shoulder and do what they want and how they want! This store used to be great. Fresh produce, good meat, clean and friendly staff. It was our "go to" for BBQ meat. Unfortunately, today is the last time we'll be going here. We got BBQ meat for a family dinner tonight. As soon as we cooked it, it smelled funny and it tasted horrible. It didn't smell or taste like xhorovats. Clearly it was old meat. Shame on Big Square. We threw away 10 pounds of meat. And their prices aren't cheap either. I feel sad for having to write this. Our whole family is disappointed. read more

Used to be a huge Korean market. It is now an Armenian market and I'm so not mad at that. Kosher Lavash? Sign me up. They have a jewelry store in there (bcus why not buy diamonds and beef luleh amirite) one stop shop lol. Parking is great. Large private lot out on Pacific. Across the medical spa that used to be Blockbuster for those who knew Glendale back when. The layout of the store is under utilized. The sections for miscellaneous home items is too large. We need more speciality items in the aisles. The fresh fruit/vegetable selection needs to be expanded. Way too small. The meat products seem to be doing a decent job. They offer a lot of different cheeses as well as frozen items. There is a cafe in there that sells food. Not sure how it tastes but will update if I do try it. This store carries extra long grain basmati so that's a win. read more

This is on its way to becoming something, but I am not sure what yet. There are a lot of things offered here, like wine and liquor, but not enough of it to make this an amazing liquored store. There are fresh meats, vegitables, and cheese, but again, not enough to make this the mist amazing place to get proteins. They have bread, fruits and vegitables, frozen things, and even housewares... But again, not enough to make it their focus. The prices are good, but not so good that it can be considered a discount food store. It is primarily Armenian, like Jon's, but not as big a Jon's. So, the first thing I said sums it up I think... this place hasn't become what it is going to be yet. But it is the best and largest grocery store in this neighborhood. read more

Don't live in the area nor usually go into these sort of business but on a recommendation decided to drive out and see for myself. Big Square didn't disappoint. Business is clean and employees friendly and helpful, very surprised. Flower shop is front and center and the roses are amazing and fairly priced. Picked some up for mom. There's a bakery, deli, and meat section all offering a good and tasty selection. Gata was $5,99 six month ago, $6,99 three month ago and yesterday it was $7,99. That's insane. Their store-made salads: identical story. I used to buy the "Korean carrots" here for around 5-6 dollars depending on weight. Now the little box goes for 9-10. Carrots with vinegar. Ten dollars. Went here a few months ago and was a bit sad that HK Market had close down. The layout of the store is pretty much the same from before with a new bakery, restaurant and a little alcove of breakable ware near the cash registers. The staff I met were really friendly as I explored the store with my boyfriend. There was a lot of space between the aisles and there were also items you could find from the 99 cents store mixed in with grocery type goods, frozen items, fresh items and containers pre-packed with food and snacks too. We did end up buying some goodies from the bakery, which weren't too bad. read more

Once you walk in to this new, spacious, full of amazing food, vegetables, poultry, verity of fresh breads, deserts, cleaning supplies, fast food, fresh beautiful flowers, home supplies, cleaning supplies, etc.. market you get greeted by the stuff with a big smile, and with a ready to help you attitude. Friendly supermarket with its own bakery, florist and restaurant. Very good selection of fresh vegetables and east European (Armenian, Lithuanian, Russian, etc.,) canned goods.
