Once we chose the tree type, he brought out a fresh one rather than giving us the one outside. We chose a noble fir tree. It always feels so magical to choose a tree from a small, fresh from the farm vendor that one of those big box hardware stores. The lot is neatly organized by type of tree, and priced by height. The owners and all the employees are super friendly and helpful, and we appreciate them offering to take photos of us with our daughter. It is our first Christmas with her, and they went the extra mile to make sure we captured a photo of us with her first tree! You can park right up front and once you've picked up your tree, they will help you strap it to your car. Shoutout to Chris, who was the kind employee who helped us pick out our tree. We paid for our tree and picked it up exactly one week later and we are so disappointed and upset. The tree we purchased looked so much fuller and nicer than the one we ended up taking home. Even after paying $170, we were shocked at how different the tree looked compared to when we selected it. See photos for reference. I'm not sure what happened to it in just 7 days, but based on this experience, we will never wait to pick up our tree again. Each one that has been unraveled was in a stand that had water in it, keeping the tree healthy longer. The other places didn't do that; they had their stumps on the ground or rebars nailed into them for makeshift stands. I think the water stands is definitely ideal, but what do I know?
