Roger is very enthusiastic about trees and seems like he loves what he does. Avel and the other business partner who was out seemed sometimes at odds with Roger's suggestions. The dynamic was a bit weird. It was a little unclear whether the quote would come from Roger or Pacific Tree. It came from Roger's inbox. If I was hiring just Roger alone, or if the approach was a little more cohesive/collaborative among the folks who came out, I'd have hired this company.

So, he did deliver and stack 1/4 cord late Saturday evening, February 1, 2025, so I was able to keep the house above 60 degrees during the February cold snap. Travis did tell me that he had other customers and that it would be after the beginning of March before he would be able to get the rest to me. However, he's been ghosting me since then. That is, I've texted and called and left messages for him, but I've heard nothing from Travis. Would I buy more firewood from him? We discussed the possible issues regarding city tree removal permitting, site specific challenges etc. and received a quote of $2700 to remove the tree and grind the stump. I filled out and returned the permit application and waited for city approval. Approx. 6 weeks later I got a call from Evergreen and was told the city denied my permit for a few reasons but that they would allow a structural pruning and gave me a quote for two trees witch was almost as much as the one tree removal. I went ahead and approved the work and gave a deposit. Later I sent an email to the city arborist asking for clarity on why the permit was denied and was told their office had no record of the denial yet. I was a bit annoyed that Evergreen made it sound like the denial was a done deal and scheduled the pruning before any official denial was recorded or given to me directly by the city. I would have waited until it was officially denied in writing before proceeding. If there was any chance that the permit had been approved I likely would have had to eat the pruning cost for the one tree AND paid the removal cost later.

This helped us save money on the initial assessment and being able to clean up both sides at the same time was helpful for everyone. The 1st day I had an amazing team I called the climber and the carrier. Both of these gentlemen were not only highly efficient but totally thorough, knowledgeable and professional about everything they did. The second day I had the same climber, but a different carrier, and I was nervous that it would not be as good as the first day.
