This location did a good job of accommodating a large party on a Friday afternoon. They have an upstairs dining area which can seat many. The one server they dedicated to our 30 person party did a very fine job of dealing with all of us. Most food portions seemed adequate, however, I ordered the fiesta salad, and although it didn't taste bad, there was nothing really exciting about it. It was allegedly fajita-seasoned grilled chicken, however, no spices were used for that. It also indicated that there would be green onions , along with fresh black bean corn salsa in the salad. When I searched for any of these things, I found four or five black beans, and a only few kernels of corn. So, while this restaurant worked for our large-party needs, I would not return for a personal meal. read more

This place was next to my hotel, so even though I've never had much much at "American Bar & Grill" type fare, I thought I'd give it a shot. Probably shouldn't have. I ordered boneless chicken wings and fries, hoping they'd at least be better than Buffalo Wild Wings, since I could have gotten those instead. I got the Carribean Jerk flavor. They were tender but the sauce was very one-dimensional. Basically tasted like spicy apple cider with a little garlic, and lots of salt. The seasoned fries tasted ok but holy sodium, Batman. So much salt. Salt Salt Salt. Probably going to need to order a gallon of water and some blood pressure meds after this. And I'm not a low-sodium kind of guy by any means, everything was just way over-salted. Maybe the chef is a chainsmoker or something, who knows. Or maybe they're trying to sell more beer. Stop! It's a trap! The pictures and reviews on this place looked great, but our experience didn't resemble them in the least. I hate to say it but the entire experience was unsatisfactory. We started with the potato soup, which I can only liken to baby food. The portion was super small, as in we all looked at it and raised our eyebrows. It was also basically some potato's with virtually no base to it. I could have turned the bowl over like a Dairy Queen blizzard and nothing would have come out of the bowl. When we asked the waitress about it she assured us it was how they did it. The bbq wings were so sticky sweet that they could hardly be pulled out of the paper basket they came in, and yet the meat was somehow still dry. The laws of physics seemed like they were on pause this night. I had the chicken Alfredo which consisted of a bunch of noodles, with chicken just dumped on top of it. The sauce wasn't stirred in and the quality was nothing to shout about even though the portion size was generous. The breadstick was just as bland as Wonder Bread. Most of our food was cleared off the table barely touched, which was undoubtedly noticed but not commented on by the server to see if there was a problem with it. The handicapped stall in the men's room was clogged and super nasty. Our server told us it was because they had an issue with tree roots invading their pipes so they kept putting tape across the door so it wouldn't be used but people kept pulling it down and using the stall. If I had to guess why I would say it is because it is a HANDICAP stall, so people with disabilities have no choice but to use it. I guess being ADA compliant is something that is only important when it is easy to fix. The manager came by at the end of the meal and asked how everything was and we ere just too stunned to respond. The service was spectacular and the food was quick and delicious. The rice pilaf with my salmon was really salty and was almost unpalatable. I'm not sure if it was just the bottom of the pot since it was late or what, but I atill gave four stars because the waitress quickly gave solutions to the problem and I was satisfied. Our first experience at Big Whiskey's was a newer restaurant in Branson when we really needed a big whiskey after a family event. We still needed a strong cocktail after a similar family event but were headed in the other direction so we decided to stop at one of the three Springfield establishments. We had first set out for the one downtown but there was no parking. We ended up here. It was OK but I've had better Old Fashions. (I guess I'm an ice snob.) The appetizer we ordered, Buffalo Chicken Dip, was tasty and hit the spot. It might have been a four start review but we were sitting at the bar by some LOUD football fans (which of course is no one's fault but ours and our seating choice). :( I would probably try for the downtown spot on our next visit. read more

Big Whiskey's is a great place to visit for dinner! Nice ambiance - probably loud when they're busy, but great decor and it was quiet when I went in for an early dinner. The staff is professional and friendly. Ny server was very pleasant and didn't rush me at all...even after my flight was done & I felt a little too tipsy to drive! My steak was perfectly aged and delicious! I enjoyed a bourbon flight and appreciated that I got a card explaining the tasting notes and background of each bourbon! I'm glad they offered non-alcoholic refreshers - so tasty! For COVID, they are not allowing seats at the bar and are proving plenty of space between guests. Servers are wearing masks as well! Out of all the Big Whiskey's locations, I think this is by far my favorite. I've been here several times and the service and food has been the best here. I wish I could have gotten a picture of my last meal here which was the bbq burger but I didn't cus Lord was it nice and juicy! I've had their wings, pasta, hamburger, and a couple of their appetizers and they were all amazing. For their appetizers I recommend the triple dip- that is always my go-to and their loaded fries are great as well. I also don't think you could ever go wrong with ordering their wings or their burgers. I did order a burger at the Republic location and it was not nearly as good as it was at this one. The pasta I ordered from here wasn't the best but it was still pretty good! I highly recommend this Big Whiskey's location because the employees here are fast, attentive, and friendly and plus there's a ton of tv's to watch your favorite team play. read more

The look and layout for TVs are great. Watching any game here would be easy and the drinks keep flowing. But from a guy visiting Springfield, damn you have a lot of beautiful women eating here. Seems like 75% women when we stopped in. Beer was cold and service excellent. Everyone with me liked the food but I would say nothing stood out as a main stay here. A group of 10 went here for dinner last weekend, and we had one of the worst experiences I have ever had in Springfield while visiting my daughters at MO State! Our reservation was at 7:30pm, took about 20 mins. to get our drinks, and each drink after that took about 20+! Ordered our food about 7:45 pm, and the food did not come out until around 9:30pm, and some of the orders were cold, wrong, or just not good! Asked to speak to a manager and she said the kitchen was short staffed and backed up, but while waiting for our food several tables came and went and by the time we got our food the restaurant was clearing out. The manager acted like we were bothering her with complaining about the wait and the quality of the food, but she did remake a couple of meals. And the manager did take off a couple of appetizer's and a drink for the long wait and poor experience. We have been to the location downtown and had a much better experience and much better food. Unfortunately, I do not think we will be going back to that location! read more

New in town and after being introduced to places like La Hacienda, Leongs and Brunos I had very low expectations when the family announced we were doing BW. We went to one on Battlefield and got off to a rough start. Waiter and Hostess were just weird and seemed almost disoriented. Waiter seemed like he was going to panic when I asked for a Mechelada. At this point I was rolling my eyes and settled for a Bloody Mary. That being said, it was kid-friendly, service was prompt and my French Dip sandwich was fantastic. I would like to express how AWFUL our experience was at your Battlefield location. I was there with my party of 4, for brunch on Saturday Agust 8th. Our server came over long enough to tell us her name was Kailyn WITHOUT a T! She did ask for our drink order. I noticed on the menu a specialty drink called "donut dude'" with a description of a White Russian with a homemade donut on top. I was told it would take 15 minutes because they had to make the donut, ok no problem. 10 minutes later she returns to tell me they were out of dough so the manager had to "run to Aldis to pick up a pack of BISCUITS to make your "homemade" donut!!! Really?!! The server then just disappeared ,we had to go to the bar to place our drink orders as she was MIA, let me make this clear we were the ONLY table in the restaurant so it was not like there was a busy rush! We saw on the menu eggs any way you want them. I ordered poached over medium. All of our orders were placed and after yet another long wait food was brought out by other people not our server. My eggs were fried and runny. We had to flag down a male server to send them back. Kailyn without a T came back with her hand on her hip and very snarky states "We don't do poached eggs" I said well perhaps when I ORDERED them that way you should have told me! She stalked off and would not come over at all anymore. All of our dirty dishes were piled up so I got up to clear our table and a very pregnant server came and snatched them out of my hand. The staff was rude, the food mediocre, and incorrect, the drinks over priced and super long wait, especially for the homemade aldis donut/biscuit drink. We had heard this was a great place to try. Been to a lot of the big Whiskey's locations and this has been a really bad experience. Ordered soup and it came out with a dirty soup, got a clean spoon to then take a bite and find it was out it was ice cold! Then got my meal to find the broccoli doused in pepper. Now this might be how they make their broccoli but when someone asks for plain grilled chicken you would probably make the sure the kitchen knows this person might not like their broccoli seasoned this way. My husbands burger was burnt to a crisp and didn't have bacon like the menu said. After the soup and how I was feeling from the day I didn't have the energy to complain about the other things. He is GREAT, he jokes around, is very patient and is honest about the opinions on the food and drinks. Staff is always great here regardless of who I get.
