Let me just lay out the negatives: The deli selections aren't up to pay with the quality of the rest if the market. Boars Head just blows whatever Hannaford has out of the water. They don't always keep up with stocking meat. I've gone there many times looking for fresh chicken tenders or shaved steak only to see none was left. Last negative, the parking lot. Poorly designed, full of idiots who can't drive or park, and gets worse when there's snow. Besides those things, Hannaford is a good market to have close to your house.

Market 32 is our closest grocery store, yet it is always one of our last choices. Our pecking order…read moreof supermarkets in our area is as follows: 1. Wegmans 2. Whole Foods 3. Market Basket 4. Stop & Shop 5. Market 32 6. Price Chopper/Hannaford We realize that quality and selection with some of these grocery stores can vary by location. For example, a Price Chopper can be much nicer in one town than in another (Price Chopper Webster, MA is a very nice PC). But in our area, we stand by these standings! We use Market 32 as a giant convenience store for on demand staples like hamburger patties and rolls, milk and eggs. That said, some of these items are much more expensive than Market Basket. And when it comes to produce, we're always disappointed with Market 32 quality, and often the price too. Bok choy is a good example. Market 32 Bok choy is often $2 more a pound than at Market Basket, and limp, like it's been on a Price Chopper truck for a few days too long. And the cod we tried, was very fishy and compares poorly with cod loins from Wegman's. Market 32 prepared pizza was very disappointing, though I tried sushi here once (I was starving), and to my chagrin, it was pretty good. On the plus side, this Market 32 is quite new, quite clean, and usually quite quiet. But other than on-demand necessitates, we have much better choices if we're willing to drive an extra 10 - 15 minutes.

Since Amazon took over, there has been a decline. Favorite products have disappeared and produce quality can often be hit or miss. Strawberries specifically can either be great or a disaster. The meat department is excellent. The prepared food dept is excellent. In fact I only have two complaints. First, the Amazon "pickers" who rush around the store putting orders together. These black-vested carriage bashers don't pay attention as they stare at their phones, push their way through crowded aisles, and don't give rats behind about regular customers. They are rude and disrespectful. I have yet to find a competent, courteous, aware black-vest "pickers" yet. It's a detriment to the experience. I wish the store would train these people to chill out and remember that people are spending $200-300 a week there not to be fighting over broccoli with a 50-year old roboshopper. My second complaint is pricing. It's frustrating to see a price of an item jump from reasonable to "too expensive so I won't buy it." Caulipower Chicken nuggets went from $8.99 to $12.99 in just two years. Steak strips went from $14.99 to $17.99 to now $21.99 in the same time span. Chocolate candy that was always under $10 is now $14 in just a year. I understand that pricing has increased in all grocery stores, but the hikes and jumps at WF is painfully excessive. Why do I keep going back? Because it's still the best store in our area. Always clean and easy to navigate. They usually have everything we're looking for and a smart shopper can ship the yellow tags and save a good amount on routine items. But the BEST thing about this store is the people. I could list half the employees that work there and have been there for years. They make the experience exceptional and deserve five stars, just in their own. Friendly, helpful, thoughtful, real, kind people who we trust. I haven't found that at Stop & Shop or Trader Joe's... at least not consistently. Their catering and holiday meals are fantastic and their teams are always super helpful in putting together the right combinations. We have ordered catering for work and home and our Thanksgiving meals are always great. They work hard on getting these right. TL;DR - shopping at WF in Bellingham MA is usually a pleasant experience though expensive. The Amazon "pickers" are often rude, pushy, and discourteous. The regular staff are wonderful and great at their jobs, always going the extra mile. Prices are tough to swallow sometimes and they often abandon favorite products to cater to shelf real estate.
