I'm so grateful to fellow Yelp friends for pointing out this cozy bagel shop. I should have asked…read morewhere the name came from because I only saw good guys here. They have several flavors of gluten free bagels, squeal! The service is so welcoming and considerate about allergies. We shared a Bee Sting breakfast sandwich because this is how it is described on the menu "One of our most popular sandwiches! Egg, Cheddar Cheese, Crispy Bacon, Scallion Schmear, and Heaven's Hot Honey. You can't beat this combo!" Omg it was scrumptious! You can pre-order and drive thru to pick up or park in the adjacent lot and walk in. You can customize everything so check out their website ordering menu ahead of time. The coffee was really tasty too. There was a constant flow of patrons early on a Sunday morning. There are only two tables inside so we took our order to go. I'm already dreaming of what I'll try next and who I will bring with to enjoy these really delicious bagels in Geneva.

This bagel shop is located in an old house. It's tiny with only a few seats inside and outside…read more They have one of my favorite strawberry cream cheese with real strawberry chunks in it, but it's only a seasonal item so I wanted to come by before they were out. I ordered a sesame bagel with strawberry cream cheese. As I was eating it, I started to wonder why it tasted like cinnamon, and then I noticed there were nuts in it. I realized they gave me the cranberry walnut cream cheese (I didn't notice right away because the color was still slightly pink and the flavor was fruity). It was good so I still ate it, but it was a bit disappointing to not get what I was looking forward to. We told the employees before we left, and they apologized and said they'd remake it, but I had already eaten the entire bagel so I told them no it's okay. We mainly just wanted to tell them so they'll be more careful. Some people have allergies, and I can't imagine if I unknowingly ate something I was allergic to. They sell tubs of the strawberry cream cheese for $8, so we purchased one to take home. I like that they always have new types of seasonal coffee creations and this time I got an iced coconut mocha. It was really good!

3.5 stars, but rounded up because I didn't feel they deserved any deduction…read more I was REALLY looking forward to their #20 Old New Yorker, which I got in their Navel Cut pastrami. It was a solid 7, which is why I place it at 3.5 stars. I may be being picky here but it just wasn't to the level of "melt-in-your-mouth" pastrami standards for me. Not to say it wasn't good, because it was perfectly fine. In fact, it's better than most of the pastrami sandwiches I tried in Chicagoland. Maybe it's the fact that I had to bring it back to the office to eat it, and half hour had gone by and pastrami weren't as warm and the Jewish rye had become soggy by the time I took the first bite. I mean, it goes without saying that the sandwich would have been 3 times better had I sat down immediately and had it. Again, all things considered, it was a perfectly good sandwich. One interesting thing was that I had never been to an establishment that included a half sour pickle instead of a normal one and gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised. Pickles can be a hit or a miss for me. I like my pickles to be crunch, but some places offer overripened ones that become borderline mushy. Schmaltz's half sour pickle was not overly salty or sour, making it very attractive for me. The more I'm thinking about it, I'm convinced that I'll have to go back and try their #14 Sloppy Paul, which is the corned beef with sauerkraut, which is another favorite of mine. And this time, I'll be sure to dine in and give another review of it to see how much I like them better.

Lots of fun deli sandwiches to choose from. I chose a French Dip; hubby had a pick two-- a cup of matzo ball soup, and 1/2 corned beef sandwich. Both served with a whole new pickle. Mine was absolutely delicious. Tons of beef, melty swiss, and grilled onion. Served nice and hot with a tasty au jus. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his as well. Great Jewish deli. Highly recommend whether you're Jewish or not! ;)
