This was our first time at Fusion Social, and it was a little tricky to find. After a couple of U turns, we pulled into the large parking lot and stepped into a beautifully decorated cafe. The green and gold combo is nice, and there seems to be some sparkle in the wall paint. Even the menus look nice. However, the first two items we ordered (chicken pot pie and chicken risotto balls) were unavailable. We ordered a pepper steak empanada, tandoori paneer pizza puff, chicken nuggets, a cappuccino, and a teddy hug latte. The food was served in nice plates with wooden forks and knives, which was a unique touch. Unfortunately, and oddly, I received a chicken pot pie empanada instead of pepper steak, but it was tasty, as was the included sauce. My wife found the pizza puffs to be bland, but I thought it was okay, although marinara sauce didn't really complement it. The chicken nuggets were few and didn't contain much chicken, but the fries were decent. The cappuccino wasn't great; it had a burnt flavor to it. Maybe the beans were over-roasted, or the water used was too hot. My wife found the teddy hug latte to lack graham cracker flavor; she said it just tasted like coffee and creamer. Enjoyed a good lunch with my auntie before heading back to Indy last weekend. I was searching on Yelp around Naperville for a nice coffee shop with good food options and this Indian Fusion cafe was a perfect match. I was wrapping up my fourth day visit with family and wanted to spend some 1-on-1 time with my auntie. I'm a tea drinker vs coffee person, but she loves coffee. I usually lean towards a matcha latte or chai tea latte, if I'm not in the mood for like a blonde espresso or something. The space is much larger and sunny on the inside. Several seating options, with comfortable booths, or little nooks. There are plenty of outlets if you need to come get some work done or charge your devices. A lot of menus and signage was tailored towards connecting and joining their social media network. As a foodie this always makes me feel seen! Since you know, my phone eats first and all. I liked the cute illustrations of their coffee and latte offerings on the menus. And they had cute little things like a small crochet "positive duck" at the register holding a positive note. No uniforms, the daughter was serving water in home water bottles and then just passing out the food at the tables in between a meeting she was having. Food was overall ok. The portions are more akin to a Tapas joint than an actual cafe or restaurant. Yes, you pay for the taste and quality, but this is rather steep - I just have to be honest. Was very excited to try out this place after hearing positive things. From the moment we walked in here it felt as if we were burdening the staff by just coming to get a quick bite. There was a total of 10 of us and naturally we had some questions about menu items, which none of the two workers were able to answer. After receiving very little help, we decided to order around 6 different bites and a few drinks. We waited a total of 20 minutes and then the first drink finally came. In total, it took around 45 minute for us to receive every single thing we ordered. We were the only ones in the restaurant. The server was not even able to tell us what she was bringing us, which did not make things anymore fun. The drinks were subpar. The teddy bear latte and cinnamon latte were good, the matcha was not, and the Irani chai was terrible. The butter chicken pasta, the tacos, and the chicken nuggets were all very bad unfortunately. Would be better once they improve their staffs basic knowledge of the menu, the turnaround time on orders, and quality of their food. The atmosphere is nice, elegant look on the inside. BEST MATCHA! I got the matcha flight and it was sooo good. They consistency was smooth, not grainy, and very rich. All of the combination were amazing. You can tell that the additions (mango, strawberry, and gulab) are made in-house. My friend got the French vanilla cold brew and it was also amazing! This place is becoming one of my favs near my area. I love coming here when I'm working from home. This was my third time at the Fusion Social and I tried their matcha flight (mango matcha, strawberry matcha, gulab jamun matcha, and brown sugar matcha). The matcha flight was delicious. The matcha color in all drinks is so vibrant and green. Strawberry matcha had a strong matcha flavor that I love, and the rest were more subtle. Gulab jamun matcha was very sweet if you like sweet drinks. All in all I really enjoyed it. I also spoke with the cafe owner and she was amazing. She let me try a new matcha pudding drink she was working on. It tasted great, definitely a dessert drink. Give it a try if it's already out. We ordered the paneer chickpea salad and some chicken paracos. He swapped the paneer for chicken, but I think paneer would've been the better option, but either way it was delicious. The mango pana cotta was delectable. The iced tea was decent--not amazing, but not bad either. Then again, I might just not be a fan of cold chai. As for the service? Outstanding. Our meals arrived promptly, paired with genuine hospitality. A lovely lady at the next table, who was previously working quietly on her laptop, checked in on us. Not going to lie, I was a bit taken back by her warmth and kindness, but it turned out she was the owner. She was just checking in on us and honestly it was wonderful to see her making that personal connection with her customers. That itself makes me want to go back, and try some more food. Give it a try--you might find it's more than just a pretty plate! While some might dismiss it as a "fru-fru café," the food truly stands out. This is one of the nicest cafes I've seen in Chicago. The decor is top notch. It's perfect for a date night or an evening out with girlfriends. We were in the area for an event and decided to stop by just for some chai. I will definitely come back for food in the future and update this review. The prices on the menu are a little pricy and the portions looked small. I would have dinner or lunch first and then come to Fusion Social for small bites and chai. We had two different chais which was the saffron Irani chai and the regular chai. The portion was 4 Oz I think. I'm definitely going to order a bigger size next time because the chai was rich and comforting. Service was fast and our waitress was nice enough to explain the different chai options. The location is slightly difficult to find. Parking and entrance are easy, you stand at the counter and order your food. I personally did not feel the menu appeal to me, I ordered the Nihari with mashed potato, personally I didn't feel that there was an any exceptional taste to my order. I sat with my family, and I looked at their orders, some of them were extremely tiny and for the price I can honestly tell you that you were not getting the amount for what you paid. Out of all five of us, no one said that their dish was exceptional. However, we all did not feel that our dishes did not taste good. We sat next to a reserve table, but Management did come over and tell us that the table next to us was reserved, I'm not sure why.. All five of us agreed that we would not probably be returning. I do like their concept however I wish their menu was more appealing to the customer and the portions were actually worth the price. For four adults with one dish, no appetizers and a small dish for a child, our bill was over $100 and I can honestly tell you it was not worth it. I generally take my children out and on occasions our bill reaches $100 with one dish. Honestly, I can see people giving five stars, but have they earned it no, not at all. (I had the fusion social bowl, my wife the buttered chicken rigatoni.) This. This is true fusion. The ambience is very calming and beautiful. But, if you're freakishly tall like me, beware hanging fixtures. I can't wait to bring the kids with next time. They'll love it. Though caveat emptor: If you get the bottled lemon drinks that say "shake well" do not. Under any circumstances. "Shake well." Or perhaps, like Fezzik, I jogged it too hard.
