So very delicious! The ribs fell right off the bone and the house bbq sauce was the perfect compliment to their meats. The fried okra was cooked to perfection with very few cap pieces. The only complaint on food was the cornbread was dry. I was disappointed that the substitute PBR was not applicable to our order because their were no cold ones, instead to get a beer with our order we had to pay the up charge to our already pricey dinner, The Double Wide, $32. I liked most things at this place,. It has a nice aesthetic there's a little something for everyone and the food is out pretty quick. However I just did not like the sandwiches, specifically the Bigfoot steak sandwich the meat was chewy and lacked flavor and I just did not enjoy it. I loved everything else the fries were crispy and flavorful, same with the Mac and cheese balls but the sandwich was just so meh that I can't recommend it. Very late to this review. Visited on July 16th 2023 for my wife's birthday. Service and ambiance is great I give it a 4/5 stars. However... the food I give it 1/5 or less. The food tasted a day or two old, plus the pricing was too high for the quality of food. My daughter got the Mac n Cheese, it was super dry, the cheese looked super expired. I took one bite of it and 40 min later I was in the ER from getting an allergy attack from the old cheese that was expired, of which I am allergic to. This was the best BBQ I had between Washington and Arizona. The pulled pork was tender, moist and flavorful. The bbq sauce I used was also the Carolina bbq sauce. My family and I were here for my birthday lunch 6/10/16. ENVIRONMENT Bigfoot BBQ is located downstairs inside the Old Town Shops in Flagstaff. If you're not a local, the Old Town Shops might be slightly tricky to find. The signs aren't exactly that eye-catching outside. Once you're inside, the restaurant will be to the right and downstairs. It's mostly clean. There are two separate eating areas. We sat in the area with the large tables near the kids area. Services for Muhammad Ali and college track and field were on the TVs. SERVICE The friendly girl at the register offered suggestions and was very patient with us. Service was good, BUT... a big strike against them was when my dad laid his empty beer bottle down flat, asked for another, but never got one. Maybe the message didn't get passed along? We didn't see anyone for a while until dear ol' Dad was past his desire for another. He isn't the type to complain, but I know how much this ticks him off. THE GRUB - pulled pork sandwich ($8.49) with mashed sweet potatoes... The sandwich was overall okay. I wish the pulled pork was just a bit more tender. The girl told me it would be smothered in Carolina sauce (over KC style), but they barely put any on there. I put a little bit more BBQ sauce sitting at the table on it. That made me forget the slight toughness. Served on a sesame seed bun. And because I bore easily of fries - or rather have a fear that they won't be as good as I expect them to be - I changed it up and went for mashed sweet potatoes as my side. It was okay. I guess you have to keep in mind that the majority of the folks tossing out five star reviews are students, for whom dining outside of a college cafeteria at all is a luxury. Nothing we ordered worked for us. Not a single dish was finished. BBQ TOUR PLATE PULLED PORK: Visibly dry, the only redeeming bite of the portion was a tiny burned bit that had a smoky flavor to it. Otherwise, the pork only served as a vessel for tasting the two barbecue sauces, which were just okay. BRISKET: How old was this meat?! Not only was it incredibly dry, it looked visibly old. Brisket should be sliced to order, and at least moderately fatty (if not marbled). This tasted better than it looked (which isn't saying much). I couldn't bring myself to eat more than a single slice. RIBS: These would have been fine if they weren't crusted with dried barbecue sauce. Again, these seemed old. They were adequately meaty, and nicely tender, but I was so put off by the exterior! The ribs I had the following day at Satchmo's were five times better. SIDES MAC AND CHEESE: Tasted prepackaged, arrived to the table looking congealed (how long was the bowl sitting out?), sauce tasted slightly gritty, but flavor was okay. FRIED OKRA: It's sad when the thing we eat the most of is deep fried and probably out of a freezer bag. But it is what it is. I came in after lunch (2PM) on a weekday (Thursday). I really wanted this place to be good, it smelled so good. I paid $17 for a steak and cheese sandwich and a side of Cole slaw. We got it to go so unfortunately I could not address any of the issues. The bread was okay, but they completely forgot the cheese. The chunks of steak were unequal and too large so they just fell off the sandwich- the hoagie roll was disconnected so it was hard to eat. The smoke flavor of the meat was okay but parts were so dry that I had to take them out of my mouth. The coleslaw, as another reviewer mentioned, was heavily overdressed. The cabbage was nice and crisp but I wanted to wipe pieces off to eat it. Overall it was not worth $8 let alone $17. read more

We pulled into Flagstaff in late morning on a Sunday while on our way from the Canyon to Sedona. A well planned break, but I feared most of the town would be sleepy on a Sunday, not the case. We parked and began to stroll taking in the hip and trendy sights - thumbs ups Flagstaff. We had time to be selective on finding a good lunch spot and one that serves good local craft beer. I had done some research prior to our trip, but quickly became dumb founded with all the choices as we walked. Suddenly, we turned the corner onto what appeared to be a side street with less happening than the other. Twenty feet around the corner, we encountered the most heavenly smokey BBQ aroma that grew in intensity with every step forward. "Where is coming from?!" we asked each other. Suddenly I looked to my left and noticed a parking ramp and a well used exhaust fan emitting the "Piped Piper" silken stream that would catch any foodie. The building was an old department store converted to a group of smaller start-up businesses including Bigfoot BBQ located downstairs. Texas roadhouse style, behind chainlink fencing and adorn with funky road signs, sold & beer posters, an old ice box, and milk canister to mention a few eye-catchers. We walk through the entrance probably looking like survivors of death valley, staring at the billboard of choices with open jaws. The waitstaff began their greeting on a gentle way listing options that grew with intensity. Finally, we woke from our daze and asked for a sampling platter (always a good choice). The Double Wide for two! Pulled Pork, Pulled Chicken, Sliced Beef Brisket, Ribs, Corn Bread, 3 sides of your choice (Beans, Coleslaw, & Mashed Super Sweet Potatoes), and 2 beverages (Sweet Tea and a "Road Rash IPA" by THAT Brewing Company, served in a Mason jar) all very cool. Our favorites: the Beef Brisket was heavenly and tender, Pulled Chicken & Pork very good, tender and not drowned in sauce. The Ribs were okay, but not falling off the bone and a little dry; this could have just been a bad cut. The sides and beverage awesome. As we slowed down with little left, one of the guys came over an offered a complimentary FRESH Banana Pudding to share. WOW, this was incredible topped with fresh bananas and whipped cream - no survivors! I have seen this place so many times when shopping at the Basement and I finally got around to trying it. The cashier was very friendly and answered all of our questions while also giving us great suggestions. She also let us know about their happy hour, which was very helpful. We went on a Sunday when they have all day happy hour, so we got a lot of great deals. We got $3 cocktails, $6 pork nachos, and $4 strips and chips from the happy hour menu, and they were all so good! The atmosphere was pretty dead when we got there, but that's probably because it was like 8:30 PM on a Sunday. On a normal night though I think it could be a fun environment for groups. There was also a little play area that would be great for young kids. Next time I'm craving BBQ this place will definitely be at the top of my list! read more

Been here several times over several years and most recently sampled the largest combo they have. Pros: Friendly, polite service and fun location. Good selection of tasty sauces. Cons: The cook on the meats. It was under-done on the dry flat brisket and the dry pork butt. The ribs were juicier but I wasn't a fan of what I think is cinnamon in the rub. Now, that's my taste and I appreciate the risk anyways. Sides were alright. Like it or not for older BBQ joints, the school of Aaron Franklin has recently spawned some great BBQ restaurants throughout the west, and for Arizona Little Miss BBQ in Phoenix might be Franklin's best imitation. It is just in a different league than this product (and for the same prices), and in my opinion it's time for the BBQ restaurants in Coconino County and Arizona to get serious about catching up. read more

HOLY MOLY this place is good! Kinda hard to find - in the basement of an unassuming building. Funky stores on the top floor where you walk in, must go downstairs to the restaurant. It is in the corner with chain link fencing around it but otherwise open air. The brisket is amazing - rather lean, flavorful and tender! The shredded pork sandwich is almost 2 meals! The chicken tenders and mac and cheese are very good. We have also gotten the fried pickles, fried okra and french fries. It is hard to find good fried okra in the west and this stuff is TOP NOTCH! Man, what a disappointment. After reading about Bigfoot BBQ's rave reviews the five of us were all very excited to eat lunch. Three of us weren't too hungry so we asked the cashier how much food came with the BBQ tour plate ($19.99) and were told that it would be enough food for three. She was so wrong! While the meat was delicious, it just wasn't enough for three adults. Just no way to spin it. But onto the food... Our plate came with three types of meat (ribs, brisket, and one other which I can't remember) and all of it was very tasty. The two sides (beans and mashed sweet potatoes) were also great. The cornbread was awful and should be avoided. Our two other companions ordered a pound of teriyaki wings and three chicken tacos. While our own plate of BBQ wasn't much in terms of quantity, I'm at least glad that it didn't taste like trash like the wings and tacos did. I'm a simple guy and I love wings but the teriyaki wings were just so OVERCOOKED. Like, way too crunchy. Small, too, but the way they were cooked was atrocious. Some of the wings were very cold as well, so not sure what was going on there. The tacos were somehow completely bland despite being fully loaded. Lots of sauce and toppings and actually a lot of food (as far as tacos typically go) but it was all devoid of flavor. Really disappointing. So, I'll preface this by stating that my wife and I were probably the last people to order on Sunday evening, March 29, during the COVID-19 craziness. We were glad they were open for take-out. We placed our order at 7:10pm and they closed at 8. After a full day taking in the Grand Canyon, we were hungry and were in the mood for bbq. We were passing through Flagstaff and saw the positive reviews for Bigfoot - so excited! We ordered over the phone with Alyssa and she also brought out the food to our car on their convenient take-out set-up on Birch. When completing the order she asked if we wanted to leave a tip and we declined, preferring to write the tip in on the actual check. Uh-oh....certainly hope this wasn't cause to give us some of the worst food we've ever had - but, maybe it was! We ordered the Double-Wide plate (which is supposedly a little bit of everything they have). Let's talk meats - The brisket was fatty and bland, the pulled pork smelled like the meat had gone bad a couple days before, the pulled chicken seemed to be heated in a microwave and again was bland and dry, the ribs were supposed to be wet - they were not - these were some of the skinniest ribs I had seen and offered only a couple of dry bites before their demise. All of these meats were lightly splattered by some of the most tasteless sauce I'd ever had...good God, it was flavorless - like a watery ketchup with a hint of vinegar. Let's talk sides - the side salad looked like week-old lettuce...sort of transparent and slimy..the tomatoes were simply red sludge - simply the worst ever - the salad should be the easiest part! Unbelievable. The macaroni was hot - but nothing special. The fries are the skinniest shoestring potatoes you'll find. Frankly, slightly below McDonald's in my opinion. Any highlights? The fried pickles and the cornbread were good...I'll give you that....and nothing was cold. Aside from that - without a doubt the worst bbq experience ever.
