So happy we finally had the chance to try this brewery; it's the only one we had not yet tried in Flagstaff. The owner, Dave, was tending bar while his son was brewing up the latest batch of beer. My husband and I homebrew beer, so we absolutely love the smell of beer being made whenever we walk into a brewery. Dave was so friendly and excitedly talked with us about their beer. We ordered a flight & a few extra tasters to try every beer on tap. We were extremely impressed with their beer quality and had several favorites. I personally loved their Hart Prairie Pale Ale, Pan American Stout on Nitro, Sunnyside Golden Ale, and the Lemon Ginger Hard Seltzer. We ended up snagging a mixed 4-pack and a bottle to bring home and share with friends. I love any brewery that lets you buy single cans or build a mixed 4-pack so this was just a nice little bonus to this microbrewery. We'll definitely be leaving the bubble of downtown Flagstaff to come to Wanderlust for all future visits. This is definitely a beer gem! read more

Having completed the Flagstaff Beer Passport, experiencing breweries' ambiance & their beer, Wanderlust was quite the special place. The smallest brewery on the passport- located further outside downtown Flagstaff, many locals we met at other breweries noted they haven't made it out there- and we filled them in they were missing out- The small brewery had the most friendly staff, who spent a good amount of time discussing beer preferences, styles, and suggestions with us- not just for Wanderlust but AZ beer in general- they allowed for samples before committing to a full pour- We opted for the IPAs- they had a HH $4pour for their Farmhouse Saison & Lager at the time (a rotating HH I was told) They are pet friendly, byof (but have snacks available for purchase) have cornhole boards, dart board, and lots of spacious seating- We sat at a high top in the back seating area-and had the pleasure of chatting with one of the owners about their beer experience in AZ, and met some locals who gave hiking recommendations-the ambiance of this was hometown pride, brewery pride, and community feeling- Each beer (Tropical Borealis & 988) were very unique quality flavor of hazy citra-5 untapped stars- average $7 pint pour If we were closer we'd love being regulars-highly recommend read more

She let us try all the beers until we settled on ones we liked. I came here to try the Hefeweizen, but unfortunately, it wasn't to my liking. This brewery specializes in more traditional beer styles like Farmhouse Saisons and Weizens, but they they have a well balanced menu for any style including a hard kombucha and a couple seltzers. This is definitely one of the top breweries in Flagstaff. This place is more of a traditional brewery, so not too many added extras like food, or games. However, the beer speaks for itself with how amazing it is. There is a wide selection of beers from German, Belgian, stouts, IPAs, and sours. They even have their own line of Hard seltzers for people who aren't into beer but want to join in on the fun. My favorite part is they allow dogs inside the brewery. We came here at the end of Feb 2024. First time in Flagstaff, AZ. We did the Brewery Flagstaff Passport it was a great thing to do for us. We got to try 9 different breweries in different days and we recommend it 100%. Follow the Map and addresses and have a good time. Drink responsibly and find a ride if you need to. We did. Wanderlust never lets me down. It's a dog friendly brewery with free popcorn, great beer and consistently good music. If you're from out of town it will give you the great flagstaff vibes. Friendly bartenders and sometimes the brewers are even hanging out! They do movie nights and even have food trucks on occasion. A lot of their beers are pretty high in alcohol content though, so watch out if you aren't used to the altitude, a 7% ABV will hit ya pretty quick! You can't go wrong with the 928, and the Witbier is light and refreshing on a warm day. read more

Great saisons but that's it. Not a seltzer fan, which seems to be their focus now. One star off for charging me a $1 for each sample without telling me ahead of time. First time I've been to a brewery that charges for samples and they were just a tiny sip. Dark skies also have better IPAs. read more

We finally got a chance to check this brewery out and I was not disappointed! The beer was phenomenal! The bartender whose name is escaping me was FANTASTIC! She talked to us about what we liked and recommended samples. She recommended the Pan-American Stout mixed with Smokey Porter and it was AMAZING! She gave us some free stickers which was awesome. Picked up a glass and a Beanie as well. I'll definitely come back to this place and recommend it to friends! On top of the stellar service one note we came in about 20 minutes to close, we had driven from Albuquerque so we were in a time crunch. I fully prepared to just grab a glass and come back another time to try the beer, but she set us up with samples and recommendations. They're also fog friendly!! Popped in on a Tuesday evening, tried a couple flights - every beer we tried was great. Not often that's the case. Nitro stout and rice saison were standouts, and the 928 that seems to be the local fan favorite was quite good too. Environment was low-key, no frills, good tunes playing. Dog-friendly - had a couple cute dogs hanging out at one table. Wasn't super busy when we were there. Only one staff on, so service was a touch slow, but not a big deal. Rock Stacker Kombucha is next door and Wanderlust sells their stuff in cans. Operation seemed clean but not much was happening the day I stopped in. I am a teacher and asked for the teacher discount which they offer on Thursday ($1 off your purchase) but I wasn't given it and was told they were not open yet - not sure what that meant but the crew seemed nice. What a hidden gem! We visit breweries everywhere we travel. Fortunately we have a vacation home in flagstaff, so we're happy to be able to go back to this brewery! My husband and I visited Flagstaff on our year long trip around the US, and had to try out as many local breweries as possible! Wanderlust was our first stop! We saw Wanderlust at the Strong Beer festival, but the line was SOOOO long! We fell in love with the name of the place, because "Wanderlust" is the reason why we packed up all our belongings into storage, packed a few suitcases, and set out on a year long adventure! Since we are working on East Coast time, we stopped working at 3, got ready, and headed to Wanderlust, and arrived 50 minutes before they opened (forgot to check times before we left haha). Luckily we weren't the only ones sitting in our car waiting for opening time! We opted for a flight, because we had never been here and wanted to try them all! I wish I remember her name, but the bartender with the awesome cactus tattoo on her arm was super friendly, knowledgeable about the beers, and had to problem answering our questions! After the flight, my husband got a glass of the IPA, which he really liked. They had a food truck, which had tacos I believe, but we couldn't stick around to try it, because we had 2 more brewery stops, but we would be back if we are in the area again! The only brewery you have to drive to in Flagstaff if staying Downtown. But worth the drive. Tasty Beers, good service and a pleasant atmosphere. Sours seem to be the specialty here and they do them quite well. Belgians are also on the menu and again executed quite well. I was impressed by the quality of the beers. A Wanderful little place to tip a few and catch up with old friends or make new ones! It's not the flashiest microbrewery in town, and it doesn't rely on bells and whistles. They focus on their craft, and it shows! I have never tried a pour or can or bottle here that wasn't worth the price. If you want an overloaded Bloody Mary or a Tom Collins, keep searching. That's not to say that they lack variety, they actually have that in spades! I'm just saying to not ask for a mixologist when you walk in. They have some fantastic cornerstone products, and lot of rotation otherwise. The 928 Farmhouse Ale is stellar, and their house seltzers are clean and delicious with numerous flavor combinations! Just tried their hard kombucha yesterday, and it stands on it's own as well! They favor the European classics, and they excel in the category. The offerings are many when it comes to Hefeweizen, ale, stout, porter, and their IPA is also no slouch! Every employee that we've encountered here has really invested in the product and knowledge base. They're friendly, helpful, and honest. They know their products inside and out. INCREDIBLE! We came here after a hike on Sunday (after a terrible experience at El Tapito) and the employee working behind the bar totally saved our night. We were in Flagstaff on my wife's birthday weekend and were pretty unhappy coming into the brewery. The employee, who we both sadly forgot her name, revived our spirits and gave us great conversation. She was a former manager of the hotel we were staying at and we shared stories about the hotel and everything else we had going on. They are known for their german beers. Good beer and excellent services! Nice layout for dogs because they are spread out enough for them to relax and not get distracted by other dogs. Service- We strolled in 8:05/8:10pm. When we walked up to the bar the first thing out of the servers mouth was last call is 8:45. Not "Hey what can I get you" or "Here's the selection, oh and by the way..." Side note, we were completely aware of them closing at 9 and just wanted a flight to choose something and take a growler home. So we asked for a flight, said we'd like 1 of each except for the sour. Was told that 1 of the taps came in 3 different styles, but he didn't explain the styles or how to mark that we wanted them. He slid me a card and a marker and walked way. Asked him for help and how to check what we wanted, so after marking and verbally talking about what we wanted, which was one of each except for the sour. He still poured the sour and charged us for it. (I ended up asking for a taste of the 3rd style of the 1, so we could try it.) So we're tasting our flight, but the card that said what was what, wasn't properly marked and with extra one we didn't want it took us a moment to figure out what was what. The guy heard us guessing/struggling and didn't ask if we needed help, or if we had any questions. All in all he seemed really annoyed to have to be helping us and other customers in general. A few others customers had come in and he ignored them, it was a solid 5 min if not longer before he acknowledged them. I don't know if he was having an off day or just PO'd that he had to close on a Friday. But for me customer service is a big part of the experience and a big thing for me and his customer service was shit. BEER- But at least the beers were good. I definitely enjoyed the 928, and the Petit Finale both in what I'm guessing was the regular style and cask style (we never did get an answer to what was what style) and the White (I don't remember the name) was quite tasty as well. My husband really enjoyed PanAmerican Stout and the Petit Finale in the regular style. read more

I can't think of the last time I was ignored by staff at a brewery and left without ordering anything. This was the first and only time. The server seemed more concerned with taking photos of a perfectly poured taster flight for the customer ahead of me than to acknowledge me and let me know she would be with me in a moment. She in fact continued to visit with the customer I was in line behind and unfortunately she was the only one working there at the time. My wife was seated nearby watching in total disbelief, I told her we were leaving and didn't look back. Fix customer service and I'll be back.
