We had Marimakan Crabhouse cater my birthday dinner and the experience was absolutely phenomenal…read more The food arrived beautifully prepared and packed with bold, authentic Southeast Asian flavors - truly restaurant-quality catering. We ordered an abundant spread, and every dish impressed. The clear crowd favorite was the Singapore black pepper prawns - fragrant, perfectly spiced, and completely addictive. That black pepper sauce was hands down the star of the meal: rich, peppery, and deeply flavorful. It was my favorite and could easily be eaten on everything. The Mala curry crab and XO crab were both outstanding; layered with complex, indulgent flavors. The Thai green chili clams and saus mentega clams were vibrant and comforting, while the crab fried rice had generous morsels of crab folded throughout the dish. We also really enjoyed the Indonesian chicken wings, which were crispy and flavorful, and the stir-fried vegetables, which added a fresh, well-balanced contrast to the seafood-heavy menu. Everything traveled well, was thoughtfully prepared, and made for an unforgettable catered meal. If you're considering catering from Marimakan Crabhouse, I can't recommend it highly enough. Get the black pepper sauce! Amazing from start to finish, and Chef V or Rachel is lovely to work with.

The perfect moment arrived when my parents came to visit us for Christmas. We ordered the Singapore chili boil with shrimp add on. It was more than enough for me and my parents. They thoroughly enjoyed it and the crabs were superrrr fresh! It was our first time trying Singapore chili and it was very nice - I would say I'm more of a savory girl so will probably try a different flavor next time, but it's a personal preference. If you like spicy and sweet this one is for you! Thank you for the amazing food, chef V! I can't wait till they come back next time so I can order again. They said they want to try each flavor each time they come visit !! Also - she's so sweet and gives super fast communication.

Yelp reviews led us to Musang and it didn't disappoint…read more Our server was excellent. We're still fairly new to Filipino cuisine and she did an excellent job talking us through the menu and the various options. We started with three appetizers, the lumpiang, kinilaw, and canton noodles. The kinilaw was incredible, bright and fresh with an appropriate bit of kick from the pickled fresnos, Highly recommended (but not my photo, it didn't turn out). For entrees we had the adobo ribs and the beef kare kare. Both dishes were good, but the ribs stole the show. Fall-off- the-bone moist with an incredible tangy yet sweet tomato glaze. Treat yourself to these ribs! The restaurant is small and casual, for us an ideal setting for a wonderful meal.

Our server was attentive when taking our order but rarely came to our table when the dishes were brought to our table. We had to remind our server about our 2nd drink order after waiting for 20 minutes. Afer our last entree our many plates wasn't cleared for another 20 minutes even though it was clear we were done eating. Our server never came to our table to check up on us. We has to ask another server for our bill. The final bill for me and my spouse came out to $263.79 and included 4 cocktails. We both want to support Filipino restaurants to become more main stream, however, they need to earn repeat customers. Some of the upscale Filipino restaurants we have dined at includes Kasama (Michelin Star) in Chicago and Abacá in San Francisco had very good service. We started with siyokoy cocktails which were tasty and had a tangy flavor I was craving for in an aperitif. Our entrees consisted of tinapa tonnato, ensaladang pinakbet, adobo ribs, kare kare and shared and order of the bibingka for dessert. We both enjoyed the tinapa tonnato and I especially liked the addition of mint because it brightened the slight funkiness of the tomato salad. The ensaladang pinakbet was not a "traditional" version of the dish and was served cold like a salad and without rice. The veggies were cooked perfectly. The pickled bitter melon was a nice addition although I thought the bitter melon was a bit too vinegary but my spouse liked the level of vinegar. Overall, we both enjoyed this version of pinakbet. The adobo ribs were meh and one note in flavor but was very tender. It lacked acidity which is a typical flavor profile for Filipino adobo. I was getting a slight bitter aftertaste, not sure where it was coming from, perhaps from too much char on the ribs because of the grilling. The ribs are covered in a thick glaze so I couldn't see the naked ribs. We both would have liked wedges of lime to squeeze on the ribs to give it a little hit of acidity. A little Maldon salt would have helped too. The first couple of bites of the kare kare were tasty but started to taste monotonous. We both agreed it needed a bit more salt or bagoong on the side for each diner to add the level to their own taste specifications. The beef cheeks portion was large and was very tender, unctuous, and delicious. The bibingka was served warm and very buttery. We enjoyed the crispy edges. I guess the O.G. designation meant it was the original recipe. It tasted like the recipe I grew up eating. Nothing inventive.

Today however lines were crossed in the most unprofessional, rude, unwelcoming and disrespectful manner. My husband initially went to go order our food but unfortunately this time he experienced Myla, the cashier, continuously talking over him while ordering. Although we've experienced her behavior before we would just brush it off. I received the dynamite fries and couldn't eat them because everything was soaked in unagi sauce which many may know it can be salty when your food is drenched in it. I then went to the counter politely apologizing for even complaining but would like to have the food remade with less unagi sauce. Instead of saying anything kind, Myla complained to the cooks about me complaining about my fries were too salty. She made jokes aloud while the cooks laughed. I was standing there the entire time patiently while she was tormenting me. Meanwhile, Myla was helping other customers with the upmost respect because at that point she noticed I recorded our interaction. The food was remade and not a word said when she handed it to me. My husband then went to ask for the cooks name and Myla's and while they're waiting he overheard them talking about my appearance and making fun of the interaction. Will not be returning because I don't codone discrimination, bullying or torment in any business no matter how a person personally feels because of a very minor issue.

It is somewhat difficult to get a reservation, because the space here is very small and packed with tables. The one downside is that it is a little tight and can be difficult to hear. But I'll take that for the opportunity to eat here. And as long as you go in with the mindset that you might drop some serious coin on the meal, you're gonna have a phenomenal time. Because we were so close to our dining neighbors, I was actually able to ask them what they were eating since it looked so good. And that's how we ended up with some mind blowing fritters. A perfect appetizer to start the night. They have a great selection of wines that are actually reasonably priced to buy by the bottle. I'm pretty sure I saw someone taking one home that they drank a few bottles out of also, which is a first. I was impressed by the creativity of the dishes as well. I'm not one to be impressed by cabbage, or ever order it, but the charred cabbage looked enticing. The cheese on the bottom, seasoning, and dates transformed this ordinary vegetable into a star. And of course you gotta see what they're doing with the seasonal veggies. I can't seem to ever cook squash the right way, but they crafted it into the ideal consistency where it was almost meaty. That New York Strip was out of this world though... the garlic sauce that accompanied it was just enough of a flavor enhancer that it didn't take away from a steak that was cooked to the ideal temp. I'll be back for more!!

The attention to detail, quality of the food, presentation, staff, and overall experience was great. You certainly get what you pay for here! They welcome you to the patio in the back and provide a welcome libation, then seat you inside at your reserved table. You should sit at the counter. I am not sure this would have been as fun had we not. SO much tweezing going on you would think we were in a beauty salon. They tailor the menu in some regard to your needs, so make sure you fill out the questionnaire! If you are the type of person that needs to make every decision at every step of the way, not really the place for you. In fact, I made zero decisions upon arrival, which was great. It was well curated and each course was a nice progression. The chef and all the staff were pleasant, attentive and made sure things were done well and on-time. You can tell everyone wants to be there and each of them have a passion for their part in the experience!

When you walk to the front, they start off with a drink choice. I had the cider, I can't remember the other one, but the cider was great! They had us sit in the back outdoor seating while the tables were getting ready. The restaurant inside is very cozy, not a lot of tables which seems to help the servers and chefs be more attentive. Every food item was brought out, explained, and was very visually appealing! This is definitely a place you go if you want to have an experience, and we were happily surprised at how well that experience went. Some of the top items were pasta in wagyu beef broth, scallops kind of like ceviche, savory macrons, squab (some kind of small bird), and the desserts were great as well! They also give you a little coffee or tea to go as you walk home which is nice, and the cups are pretty cute. One thing to note, is we had the non-alchoholic drink pairing, and thought it would be more like cocktails without alcohol. I would suggest you look more at what it actually entails via the drink menu before you have it. It's a lot of fermented items, so if you don't like kambucha then I would suggest getting something else. Overall though, I definitely recommend this place, I will be going back as their menu changes with the seasons.
