Delicious vegetarian sandwiches and soups & good breakfast burritos. Nothing outstanding, just your standard fare, but quality ingredients and a nice casual atmosphere. Only a few small bistro style tables inside but they have a large patio area with forests with a view of the river & the Lewis & Clark memorial. You can rent standard bikes and E bikes from them as well and they also organize group rides.

The Abbey Sandwich with a side of guacamole

Was in town for a visit and decided to stop at the Bike Stop Cafe for lunch. I was honestly underwhelmed. We ordered two standard deli sandwiches (the abbey and Klondike), a side of guacamole, and an Arnold Palmer and our bill was over $40!! The sandwiches were just average (not bad, but not great either). The star of the show was definitely the guacamole! I loved that it had a little kick to it, but $1.99 for the small container was a bit pricey! I am giving this lunch 3 stars. It wasn't bad, but I just didn't think it was worth the money we spent.

Charming little café in a historic area, with the option for outdoor seating as well. I was really excited to try it, though a bit disappointed they were out of several ingredients. That said, the sandwiches we ordered were delicious, and the girl behind the counter was incredibly sweet. Definitely a lovely spot to stop by while walking and shopping nearby!

Who knew Aunt Jo was an influencer? She led me straight to Bike Stop Cafe in Saint Charles, it's a bike trail oracle. The Katy Trail literally runs past it. I guess everyone knew this place existed but me. You can rent a bike, fix a flat, take a shuttle, send your luggage off on its own solo adventure (luggage transfer), but, of course, I came for the food. Specifically, the Greek Goddess wrap. Pesto, you perfect little green sauce, never stop being you. And this spot is eclectic and adorable. Honestly, I just keep accidentally finding awesome spots in St. Louis like I'm on a scavenger hunt I didn't know I was playing. Thanks Aunt Jo. You win this round.

(MARCH 2025) Wow, haven't been here since 2017!! Still great service and great food! I was meeting up with a friend for a Saturday ride on the Katy Trail. He was able to get a tube for my bike while I ordered my favorite: Jodi's Famous Peanut Butter Balls! They sell out QUICK but thankfully there were still some left. I also needed energy so I ordered a canned Bob Ross Energy drink. Yes, BOB ROSS. I was all set for my ride and killed two birds with one stone in one visit!

Cute little coffee shop off of the Main Street. The two employees working were super kind. I have everything from Hot pickles, soups, which is so cool, brownies, biscuits, bread, alcohol, alcoholic beverages everything you could think of plus more! Highly recommend this location if you're on Main Street and stopping to get a drink, you will not be disappointed

Plant Based Burger with Billy Goat Chips

Bike Stop Cafe is a great place if you have a mix of vegans and carnivores in your group. They have sandwiches or salads for everyone. Small dining area inside or eat out on the patio. I got the plant based burger with Billy Goat Chips. Pretty yummy! Order at the counter, however, they bring your food to your table.

Walked over to the Bike Shop Cafe and ordered their get 2. Decided on their chicken and rice soup and their Klondike Sandwich. I loved both items and will be back for more of the soup! The service was great and loved the options for seating inside and outside. I decided to sit inside to read and eat.

We stopped for midafternoon coffee while strolling Main Street. It was my husband's 75th birthday, and it appealed to him as a former cyclist. Apparently current cyclists like it too - there were a lot of bikes parked on the patio. The coffee area is dark and small (it's also a bike sales and repair shop), and they can't do blended drinks, but our hot latte, iced caramel-chocolate turtle latte, and "power cookie" were all perfect. (Top - single shots of caramel and chocolate were plenty instead of of the usual two).) It was a beautiful, balmy, mid-September day, so the patio overlooking the river was an ideal spot to hang out for a while.

Cute lunch spot in St. Charles but unfortunately sandwiches left us underwhelmed and I do not recommend. Was busy on a Saturday around noon with outdoor seating area viewing the Mississippi. The counter discouraged us from ordering food by giving us a bogus wait estimate but the sandwiches came out in no time. No frills. The ingredients were good especially the fresh bread and lettuce. Middling-quality turkey but the real issue was that a sandwich has only a tiny thin slice of meat so the proportions don't work. It would be a very simple fix, I would recommend double the meat on half the sandwich size for overall 4x more turkey. This was both types of sandwiches we ordered.

One of my favorite places to eat. The potato leek soup was out of this world. I love the cinnamon roll too! Great locally owned business right along the Katy trail! The staff is so friendly and they have stuff for sale so you can get your Xmas shopping done too!

So peaceful, beautiful, and the perfect start to our morning! What truly made the experience exceptional was our server, Jenn. She was incredible from start to finish!! She was warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. She made great recommendations, checked on us at all the right times, and went above and beyond in ways you don't see often. My husband is picky about biscuits and gravy, and Jenn kindly brought him a sample of the gravy first to make sure he'd like it...such a small gesture to some people, but truly made it special for my husband. She even sent us off with coffee to go, which we really appreciated!! The food was just as impressive. I had the traditional breakfast. Everything was cooked perfectly, the potatoes were nice and crispy, Jenn recommended the ham, which was so flavorful and perfectly charred, so good!!! My husband ended up loving his biscuits and gravy! Between the amazing service, delicious food, and relaxing riverfront setting, this was easily one of our favorite breakfast experiences. Jenn truly made it memorable, and we'll definitely be asking for her every time we come back. Can't wait to return!!

I had this place in the bookmarks and figured now was the best time to visit. Parking can be an issues in Downtown St. Charles since it is limited to street parking or public parking a few blocks away. We found parking right in front of FPC, mainly because it was a cold, Monday morning. We were greeted immediately, and inside was much smaller than I expected. We got seated right away though, and a good chance to really review the menu. I got a house coffee (delicious), and my husband got a Purple Haze Lemonade. We ended up getting a kid's pancake with bacon and scrambled eggs, Short Rib Breakfast Stack, and a Bomb Burrito. The pancake for my 2 year old was MASSIVE so it was a good day for him lol. The short rib stack was yummy - hash browns with runny eggs and meat on top. The burrito was also pretty good. Our breakfast entrees came with a side order of potatoes and while it was good, it got saltier over time so I might not get that next time. They advertise beignets, so we might go for that next time and try out their lunch menu!

The interior is small, about 20 seats spread across different tables. There is an area to place orders, but that's for carry out. You also check in there and then grab any open table if you are going to eat in. The interior is decorated with random stuff that is meant to look French, but just makes it appear cluttered. We ordered a couple of breakfasts and waited for a while for them to come out. Coffee was basic and the London fog was really watered down. But the worst was when the food came, I ordered over easy eggs, and the came out way undercooked. Like, still very liquid. But since our server never came back to check on us, I ate everything else. While we waited, we heard them explain to someone that they don't make most of their pastries, which was disappointing. When our sever finally came back to drop off the check I showed her the eggs and asked for them to be taken off the bill. She tapped on the handheld device for a second and handed it to me for payment. When I asked for a copy of the receipt, she seemed nervous. After I got it, i noticed that it had not been taken off. She left to go to other tables and I didn't feel like being there anymore. I would suggest skipping this place and trying the other restaurants in the area. Better food and better service!

They were quite busy during my Friday morning visit. They offer a beautiful pastry case full of delicious homemade treats. I grabbed a cinnamon roll because they were flying out of the case while I waited! The roll was tender and full of delicious cinnamon sugar topped with a cream cheese frosting. They offer a generous breakfast menu of sandwiches, breakfast plates, and omelettes. Again, I prefer savory to sweet and decided on a chicken salad sandwich. I'm so glad I did because I found exactly what I was looking for! I didn't have time to sit down and enjoy a full meal, although everything I saw other customers eating looked absolutely delicious. Instead, I headed over to the pastry case and immediately spotted a chocolate croissant. Chocolate croissants are a favorite in my family, so I knew I had to try one. I had the pleasure of talking with the woman working behind the counter, who turned out to be the owner. She told me she makes the croissants by hand every single day, and you can truly taste the care and effort she puts into them. What makes these croissants stand out is the chocolate distribution. Instead of getting one small section of chocolate that disappears after a couple of bites, the chocolate is spread throughout the entire croissant, making every bite just as good as the last. I bought one that day and immediately knew I needed to go back. That weekend, I returned and bought enough to share with my entire family--and everyone loved them! They have quickly become a family favorite. My daughter and I recently took a trip, and on our way to the airport, I made sure to stop by Meme's Cafe to pick up chocolate croissants for us to enjoy on the flight. Sharing those croissants in the air made the trip even sweeter! I highly recommend stopping by Meme's Cafe.
