I haven't visited in years, and its changed from my memories. Maplewood is such a lively neighborhood, so its great to see a good business succeed! I came on a weekend afternoon, and there were lots of people milling about. There are tables and chairs and outside for you to enjoy your selections. I came for coffee, but saw they have a great menu of breakfast and lunch options. I will be back to try something soon. For coffee, there were two specials, and I ordered one of each. I chose a PSL, (which was also available as sugar free), and Maple Peach Latte for a friend. They weren't served steaming, just slightly warm, so you can take a sip immediately. The staff was efficient and friendly. If I lived closer, this would be a weekly stop, but its a wonderful place for a friend catchup or a date! read more

[July 2025] I came here to celebrate my friend's birthday over brunch. It gets busy in here but seems to be a decent rotation in and out from my experiences here. Here is where I fell in love with the Fresh Mint Latte. I really wish it wasn't seasonal. When I took my first sip, I danced in my chair! The cafe vibe itself is super welcoming and positive. For my main course, I ordered a BLT Biscuit. While delicious, it was a bit more crumbly than I prefer. The bacon slices were thick too, which is always a plus! We are always on the lookout for cafes to do work at and we really liked this one in Maplewood! Cozy and warm with WFH/Study friendly tables and enough plugs for our laptops. We were looking for a breakfast spot in the area and stumbled upon Maplewood Deli and Coffeehouse. They had a dog friendly patio and it perfectly situated in a corner block. They had a great menu and even better daily specials! We ordered the daily special, meat lovers burrito and the Hot Honey Biscuits. Both were absolutely phenomenal. The service was fast and clean. It came with two slices of sourdough bread. The omelette was so good I ate it less than five minutes! And let me tell you about the sourdough toast that was perfectly buttered and melted in your mouth. For my beverage, I had the citrus hibiscus tea served hot and I was very happy that Stevia was one of the sweetener choices. I would agree with the other reviewers that said the presentation was not great, but don't judge your meal based on that. The taste made up for the presentation. Went here this morning craving something sweet for breakfast. I've been to Maplewood Deli once before and had a very positive experience but it had been a while since I visited. Having never been inside this place before (last time I sat outside with my dog), I was instantly comforted by the inviting setting and warm communal feeling I got when I walked in. This is your quintessential Maplewood representation of the neighborhood community and it made me feel proud that I live nearby. I was greeted with a smile and ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk, blueberry muffin, and I had to try a goo ball! The latte was perfect and definitely delicious. The goo ball was basically like crack! It was super sweet, yummy, and very rich. The blueberry muffin was maybe one of the best I've ever had- no joke. There was love baked into that muffin for sure. The blueberries were numerous, fresh-tasting, and gorgeous. I really need to come back to this place for lunch and get another taste. Current construction in the road in front of the building means you'll need to park on a side street but just a short walk away. Free wi-fi and a quiet atmosphere make it a solid place to remote work. Staff is competent and friendly but not engaging. I'm really just using this as a personal journal. Food is subjective, all of this is based on my tastes. You might fuck heavy with these dishes, and that's OK. Espresso Chocolate Chip cookie: 6/10 I'm a cookie fucker. Espresso Flav was strong which is a big ol' strong point, but the crumbly kind of grainy texture didn't do it for me. Belgian Waffle: 6/10 the Belgian had a much cakeier texture than I expected, but was damn delicious. The syrup deffo isn't straight from the tree maple, but that's OK. Whipped cream and starberries were very minimal, like a tablespoon of cream, and two big ol' berries. Maybe I expected too much? Who knows. The real reason for the middle of the road is the fact that the waffle wasn't crispy at all. And I bit into that fuck first thing first. Blair: 3/10 The Blair was what I came to try and sadly I do not fuck with it. The horse radish sauce applied to the bun was miniscule and lead to not tasting it at all. Worst of all it had this hateful little mayo sauce on the side. This shit was just burning spicy. I love spicy food, with FLAV. But this spiteful little aoli was just cayenne bitter spicy that over powered the whole dish. Think spicy McDonald's chicken sandwich spicy. It's the laziest way to make things spicy. Personally I prefer a Indian Vindaloo spice or a high quality Chili oil (Tiger soup dumplings housemade chili oil for example slaps my nuts and makes me sweat like a stuck pig). Mac and cheese: 4/10 It's panera Mac. Not my thing. Iced Chai Latte: 3/10 It's milk and Chai concentrate. Not what I fuck with. Portions: 6/10 The sandwich filled me up with the Mac, but not really a substantial meal. Value: 7/10 I paid 60ish buck with a 22% tip and got 3 mains, two bakery items, a Cafe drink, and a can of diet Coke. Solid value. Overall I give this joint a 5/10. Feels like it's making an effort to be community oriented, but for me the feeling just isn't there like it was before. It was my second time at this establishment, and I was looking forward to another pleasant dining experience. However, that was not the case. I was greeted by a tweaker who obviously was on drugs. I no longer wanted to sit down and study in an environment like that. I walk up to the counter and am kindly greeted by the barista who took my order. I ask for a matcha latte and a turkey panini. To my surprise he tells me the kitchen is closed down for the day. There is no mention of this on their website. Very misleading and crucial information that should be included. The business hours are 7-5, I had arrived around 3pm, so it makes no sense why the kitchen would shut down two hours before, but what do I know? I just decide to get the matcha and leave instead of studying. I get to my car and try my drink and I am actually stunned by how vile it was. Very gritty, not properly blended tastes like dirt and grass. Cannot believe they actually sell something so disgusting. I Immediately went back inside to get compensation because I will never justify spending 7$ on a crappy latte, I could've just gone to Starbucks. I go back to the counter and the owner was standing there and I tell her truthfully how awful my beverage was. She agreed and said she too did not like the taste of the matcha. I had the choice of getting a different drink, which I am grateful for, but it still shocked me how this owner was perfectly fine with selling something she did not like. At least have an ounce of pride in your product and sell items that you think are decent. read more
