There is a small splash pad area, and a very shady playground with shaded benches around it, and a pavilion right next to it. Someone was having a birthday party- what a great spot for a party! It is so nice to find a truly shady spot, with fun playground equiptment.

They have a lot of classes and programs and after care. They got a lot of improvements due to a 2020 Parks Bond Referendum. The former beach house that was in poor shape - the old tennis center. 2020, saw new heights - city did it! a new $2 million tennis center and tennis courts that has the South Florida Tennis Program. And there are a ton of tennis players here all the time. It is great to have this park in West Palm Beach! So thank you very much!

The playground is large and has a lot of climbing equipment, slides, and swings. This area of the park also has a covered pavilion with a picnic tables and a portable restroom. A few days ago a woman and her two daughters were shocked by the metal railing leading to the restroom. The city determined it was due to a leaky air conditioning unit on top of the restroom and they have fixed the issue. i would still caution against touching the railing just to be on the safe side. In the immediate area outside the playground there is even more for families to enjoy like a memorial meditation garden and aquatics center with pool, splash zone, and water slide. A brand new 30 million dollar community center is being built with a refurbished gym, wellness studio, cultural art space, art studios, rooms for STEM programs, new restrooms, and more. With the addition of the new community center this corner of Palm Beach Gardens is going to be an impressive gathering place for the community.

It is a small…read moreneighborhood park tucked near the northeast corner of the West Palm Beach Golf Course, just east of Forest Hill High School and the West Palm Beach Country Club. It's named after Mary Brandon, a local politician who served on the city's Parks and Recreation Commission in the 1960s. Established in 1999, this park holds the distinction of being the first dog park in the City of West Palm Beach. It features two separate fenced areas--one for small dogs (25 pounds and under) and another for larger dogs. Amenities include dog-friendly water fountains, play tunnels, as well as plenty of chairs, benches, and tables for owners to relax. In July 2019, the city unveiled a brand-new playground, replacing older equipment with updated, shade-covered slides and climbing structures. In addition to the dog park and playground, the park also offers picnic pavilions, a baseball field, restrooms, and a large open green space that's perfect for running around or getting some exercise. I really appreciate how the city created a space that caters to both kids and dogs. It's a welcoming, versatile park that serves the neighborhood well--perfect for a casual afternoon outdoors. I'd definitely come back, especially if I brought my dog or just wanted a quiet place to unwind outside for a while.

There is a nice playground area with a structure, benches, a softball field, a basketball court, a walking path, and open grass to run around in. For the pet owner, there are two dog "parks"/dog run areas for differing size dogs that are fenced in. When we stopped by, there was only one other car parked in the lot. It was lovely weather so I was surprised that more people were not taking advantage of the first sunny day in a while. There are some large old trees providing shade, too. We'd be here often if we lived in the neighborhood.

Park amenities at Old Trail include a playground with a climbing wall and slide for 5 to 12 years and a smaller play structure for ages 2 to 5, a paved path, a junior basketball court, a single table picnic shelter, benches, water fountain, and open play space. A few shade trees round out the park. The only negative is there are no restrooms. I loved the tire swing on the playground which is a childhood favorite. The park is open every day from sunrise to sunset making it a popular place for outdoor recreation for the local community living nearby. This is a nice park to take the kids to play, shoot some hoops, walk your dog, or have a picnic.

North County District Park is a 82-acre athletic and recreation complex. It is located on 117th Court North near the city's tennis center. The sprawling park includes seven lighted multi-purpose fields, two open fields, a splash pad, nature trail and walking areas, three pavilions, two playgrounds, gravity rail and 23.6 acres of preserve. it is the largest athletic complex in the area and has more than 600 parking spots. The pristine athletic fields make this park ideal for team sports but children will also love cooling off at the splash pad and playing at the ninja styled shade covered playground. My favorite part of the park was the nature trail. I just wish it had parking closer to the entrance. The field next to trail is under construction so I am excited to see what will be added to the park next.

The South Palm Park neighborhood is comprised of around 200 homes of various price points that run in a narrow north-south strip between Federal Highway and the Intracoastal Waterway. The homes date back to the 1920's when the earliest pioneers moved into the area to be closer to the city. Growth continued in the neighborhood in the 1930s, '40s and '50s. The South Palm Park neighborhood is named for this passive park located at the east end of 11th Ave South. The park has open areas for play, a beach to launch non motorized watercraft onto the intracoastal, a playground, picnic tables, and grill. The views of the water are stunning. This is a true neighborhood park without any outside parking. You can try to park on the side of the road but you can tell from the people walking in that this park is only used by the South Palm neighborhood.

I stopped by Bowman Park to enjoy a picnic lunch from nearby Totally Awesome Subs. The park was not overly crowded and I had my choice of several tables to choose from. it was a beautiful afternoon to enjoy a meal outside. Other Bowman Park amenities include two lighted basketball courts, a gazebo, playground, benches, and an exercise path that winds through the park along with some piece fitness equipment that uses your own body weight to tone muscle. The trees throughout the park provide beauty and welcome shade. There is also open area for unstructured play. Note that there no restroom facilities in the park. I found Bowman Park to be clean and well maintained. Whether you're looking to exercise, enjoy a picnic, watch the kids play, or simply relax outside, Bowman Park offers a welcoming space for all.

The first thing I noticed was the large enclosed basketball courts -- 2 side by side. Opposite this is the children's playground area. There are benches to sit at, a walking/running path (trail?) as well as a guided work out area with set activities to accomplish. When we were there, a gentleman was just starting his 15(!) laps around the outside of the park, and a guy was waiting for his frisbee teammates to show up, a mom was supervising her kids play... This is an active park -- and a busy one -- especially on the weekends. It looks groomed and very well maintained.

Acreage Pines Community Park is one of nine parks in the area. This large park has two sections. The north area has baseball/softball fields, football/soccer fields, picnic area with grills, playground, and restrooms. In 2020 a south expansion was added to the park. Amenities in this part of the park include an amphitheater, multi purpose field, picnic area, playground, restrooms, track, and walking path. Also located in this part of the park is the entrance to the Acreage Pines Natural Area, an 124 acre natural area with walking paths and boardwalk. Both sections of the park are open everyday from 8 AM until 9 PM. This beautiful community park has something for everyone. You can play sports, take the kids to play on the playground, have a picnic, or take a nature hike. A walking club meets weekly for fitness enthusiasts. The park is very clean and well kept and all equipment looks new, especially in the southern expansion. This is a great place to get out and enjoy the best of outdoor activities in West Palm Beach.
